Tom sleeps in the grass just under the hammock.
The next morning he moves to an open area and waits for the sun to rise.
He takes another moment.
"Very well."
She chuckled. "I see you have learned the great art of seeming wise," she said, as she pulled out a piece of paper, a pot of ink and and brush. "Speak little and you cannot prove yourself a fool."
Using one hand to hold her wide sleeve out of the ink she carefully wrote out a letter in Draconic, her careful strokes with the brush making it almost as much art as communication. When she was satisfied that it was done she blew on it to dry it and then handed the note to Solivala.
"There. You may read it if you wish. Take that letter with you through the front door to the Headmasters Office, and I think you will have better luck with enrolling this time."

Ephebe walked into the cafeteria, barely conscious, dark circles under her eyes. She'd been up half the night talking things out with Nasima, and then spent the other half tossing and turning as she was tormented with bad dreams. She sat down at the breakfast table listlessly, barely noticing her food.
Still, two dozen waffles, a large cauldron of oatmeal with lots of sugar in it, three gallons of orange juice, a bunch of bananas, five pounds of bacon, six dozen scrambled eggs, three loaves of toasted bread, Two gallons of breakfast smoothie, and four dozen donuts helped her feel a bit more like herself and she headed off to class almost ready to deal with the day.
Fieri whimpered a little as her stiff neck protested being moved. A night spent curled up in an armchair in the infirmary wasn't doing anything for her temper this morning. Jiminy was still sleeping like the dead, but she'd been shooed out finally and was feeling a bit miffed about it.
Fei (as usual) awakens before sunrise, goes outside to perform his katas to greet the dawn, then stops at the gymnasium showers to get cleaned up. He then makes his way towards the cafeteria for a bit of breakfast.
Rounding a corner, he almost collides with Fieri as she is worrying her sore neck.

"Good morning, Fieri. Are you well? Has Jiminy's condition improved?"

"Mornin, Fei," she grumbled. "Just cranky. Jiminy is still sleeping it off, but they kicked me out this morning. Something about needing to eat and go to class. Like I can focus on class right now anyways. Sleeping curled up in a chair all night didn't exactly help either."

"That would not be an ideal way to rest, no," he agrees. "If your neck is causing you pain, I might be able to realign it so you may not be as...distracted...as you are now," he offers as he motions toward the cafeteria.
Tom can see the flow of traffic moving to the cafeteria, so the follow the others.
He looks around the room to see Ephebe eating so he makes his way over to her. He puts his turtle friend on the table and starts to look around the room to identify what the point is.

"Tom, what's wrong?" she asked, between mouthfuls. "Are you hungry? Would you like me to get you some food?"

When she pauses in her sentence, Fei sidesteps so he is behind her, and places both hands on the back of her neck, with his thumbs paralleling her spinal column. He then moves them along the skin until he finds the raised area where the vertebrae is out of alignment and has caused the surrounding muscle tissue to swell.
"Exhale, please. This may be...a bit loud."
When she lets out her breath, he presses the area from a certain angle, and she hears a resounding 'CRACK' as he adjusts her.
The shock of the sound is quickly replaced by the blissful relief of a neck that no longer feels like stiff, stabbing agony.
"Is that...better?"

Tom gives the turtle a few of the strawberries. The turtle does not wait for permission he goes right into the side of the nearest one.
The little light springs into life over your head. You see it to be very odd that there is a turtle setting on the table eating breakfast. If the little thing had a newspaper and 4 little slippers you would almost think it was a little old man.
About the time that thought hits you are almost sure the turtle said something, and yes Tom responds, and give the turtle a small pinch of sugar.
"Is that...better?"She stopped and moved her neck around a bit, surprised to find that she no longer hurt.
"Wow! That's amazing! It's totally fine now. Thanks! "

It surprising how much the purring of a cat can sound like a fighter plane when the cat is dive bombing the food of unsuspecting or unaware students...
Tom looks Ephebe right in the eyes and starts to speak. Ephebe gets a very short glimpse of a forest waking up. There is a very good chance this will aggressively overload her perception for a short while.
She gets about 1/2 a second of every ants, plant, bird, lizard, spider, and every other living thing in a forest jumping up and saying good morning in their own way.
Just as fast as the emotion came over her Tom looks down and stops speaking that entire wash of emotion turns into nothingness.

The front doors open for him easily and any time he is in any danger of getting lost some security bots form a silver arrow to show him the direction he should go. He comes back to the office. The woman from yesterday was there leaning over the desk and scrawling a quick note.
Solivala takes the note out of his pocket, has an orb grow a claw to take it over and place it on the desk. He remains silent and motionless until spoken to, the orbs drifting around him in random orbits.
Vakkler Relkav watches Solivala from a distance, using his familiarity with the school's nooks and crannies--not to mention Mr. Sinh's information--to keep ahead of the newcomer.

"Okay, let's see we got name....and interests and abilities...so we need to sign you up for classes and assign you a room. I'll get you a student handbook. It has all of the school rules printed in it....if I can figure out where he put them...." she said, her voice trailing off as she started looking through the filing cabinets.

"...Credit where credit is due then," Fei capitulates after a moment's contemplation while they finish going through the line.
A bowl of rice and a bran muffin make their way to his tray to accompany his water as they sit down to breakfast at Ephebe's table as Krays comes up.
"Good morning," he says with a bow to everyone, looking briefly at the young child joining her at the table.

"I'm sorry, Krays," she said, sympathetically. "If it makes him feel any better she has more of her mind left to her this way then she would have if she'd been left alive. Which isn't much, I know, but it's something."
"Yeah I tried telling him that. She, however may not be that appreciative about it. I don't know, I didn't create her so I can't hear her. She may be bugging him 24/7. If it continues too much longer I will ...release her. I had hoped as a former professor, with H'Tor keeping her in check she could still teach or tutor, maybe. I'm sure she doesn't like being used as a spy by H'Tor anymore than she did by the Hunters."
She sighed. "Probably not. It is too bad. Although some of her former students get a bit hysterical whenever she's around. It might be for the best to let her move on if that's what she's got her heart set on."
"Well, she'll need to be destroyed. Can't have a rogue shadow running around feeding on students..." Nods to himself "I'll talk to H'Tor about it later. See if there's a more peacful way to do it than blasting her with positive energy..."
Tom can see he is not going to leave now that there are others at the table.
He takes the turtle out of the bowl, but during the move some of the food was inadvertently smudged on his head.
The turtle makes his way over to a napkin and removes the berry juice from his face. He goes right back to continue the meal.
