Archena would disagree with both. Dinosaurs are better than both magic and weaponry.
Hermes can't do magic, but as far as he's concerned, both are just tools with strategy being the most important thing.
Kevin does magic for the sake of science, but as of late, his own physical abilities seem to be the most affective.
Lewis doesn't care how, he just wants to protect Tarka.
Lim-Môr... Por que no las dos?
Sara doesn't fight, but the animals protect her.
Tybs... "wait, magic has a limit? No one told me that..."

summons can be defeated just like anything else, and they also can be banished.
Wondering If I should have munchkined my character a little bit. Everyone else seems to have done so, and I can see a time the future when Vickory might need to demonstrate what she is saying.
Interestingly, Adon thinks magic is so much better, yet only the fact that Vickory knows both magic and Martial skills, would allow her to truly fight him at all. If she was exactly what Adon thinks is best, wouldn't she be handily defeated since Adon isn't affected by magic? Or am I misunderstanding the whole magic immunity thing?
Something for her to point out if she ever understands the scope of Adon's immunity.

Totally wishing I could cast Major/Minor creation in combat right now.

Here's how that works
1) I roll to d8, and David can say anything I roll hits an image, and how can I know the truth?
2) We waste more time having him post which of them is real and then my rolling, etc.
I'm hitting his robes, so it really doesn't make much of a difference and my way is fastest and moves this forward.
Also, can people not David, myself or a GM..
Stay out of this, unless asked for input?

Sorry.
I was just saying that it seems kind of unfair.
The chances are 1/8, but you cut it to 1/2 to remove one of his significant buffs.
There's eight, so it makes sense that you roll a d8 and 8 hits him.
I know this isn't my combat, but I just feel like we should go with the actual ability, or at least the same odds.
Sorry. :/

Alright, here's the deal. I love a good percentile roll. It solves many problems by simplifying the mechanics so that we don't need to waste time on needless back and forth about rules. However, Magic is also right. The odds shouldn't be drastically changed when simplifying. Something to keep in mind in future. On the other other hand, Ace's roll was above an 88 percent (the real cutoff when the odds are divided appropriately) so he hits the real Dave anyways and this whole thing is moot except for bringing up a good point to follow in the future.

Also, this Ace/David combat is boring me to tears. Sorry guys, but rules heavy combat just isn't that much fun to read. So I am relying on people to let me know when I need to pay attention to something in that.
At the risk of sounding like Dami, less ooc text and numbers and more description please! At least give me entertaining descriptive text to read! :)

Hey, I tried to make it at least somewhat interesting with my last action.
David apparently wants to play magic tailor though.

Ace, not cool. Keep the insulting remarks to the actual combat.
And your last post did have some description...elaborate on that, keep adding lots of descriptive text regarding actions, expressions, tone, etc. That will make for a much more interesting combat that furthers character development much more.
Dave, that goes for you too. Exact same advice about how to write combat posts so that they make people interested in what's going on.

Not exactly the same thing....and the battle knitter is definitely going to be a thing. :)

You should look up the War Weaver Lyn.
They get a Battle Tapestry ability.
I remember than class...I always wanted to play one of those. Might combine it with something else, presuming I still have that book. I might not. It might have been gotten rid of in the great book purge.

I support this suggestion and the poster's clearly impressive taste.

Hmmmm, to prank the barbarian or not to prank the barbarian. that is the question.
To reiterate what was mentioned before, this idea is only considered by someone that is stupid, arrogantly brave, or otherwise invincible (cause nearly invincible isn't quite good enough)
On the other hand, it might be funny.
Good luck Loki, hopefully you won't find Thor in disguise. :)

Not for anytime soon, as I have a few other concepts I need to bring in first, but I have seriously been thinking of making a Ghost/Phantom Rider inspired character...
Would likely be an Inquisitor, while the second half is dependent on whether I want him to wield a hellfire chain like the Blaze/Ketch GR, or pistols more akin to PR.
Oh, and definitely have a Nightmare mount :)

You know I was called the Ghost Rider for awhile? It was only a pedal bike, but still, I would ride through the woods behind the high school on my way to work. Since I have sensitive eyes, I never needed, nor used a light (though I did have reflectors).
I heard from a friend who was still going to the school, that there were rumors of a Ghost Rider riding through the woods, and he wanted me to go hunting for it. I couldn't because of work, but a few days later I accidentally scared this group so bad the the girlfriend (loudly, while I was riding away) dumped her boyfriend right then and there for wetting himself. It was then I realized it was me that was "haunting" the woods.

Hmm, I've been thinking about trying to make a black blood sorcerer bloodline. Need something for the non-divine reaplings, cause I've never been happy with divine spell lists.

[Query]....
So this little 'spat' between Ace and Dave is supposed to be happening in a SIM room. Are all the Cafeteria comments I'm seeing later in the game thread just the ones being made prior to Royston shooing them off to the basement? Or did I miss another potential brawl brewing in my board absence?
(And apologies for said absence. Our office flooded over the weekend and we've been having a peach of a time getting everything dried out to prevent a mold outbreak while still trying to do business).
♣♠Magic♦♥ |
Royston put the fight on screens around the school.
I honestly have no idea why he'd be allowed to do this, or why a teacher thinks it's a good idea to put personal matters out as a form of entertainment to students who have expressed dislike of this happening after all that did this weekend.
But, no one is correcting his action, so I assume it isn't as bad as I think it is.

So...
Gavin is a lurker at Avalon?
Not so much. When I first introduced him, he was working with one of darknlights characters, but that went no where when he quit posting.
So, I had to change a few things. He was still at Avalon, but instead of being trained in the sims by Enre's brother, he was either in a therapeutical sim or in the infirmary recovering from his forced conversion into an Elan. He was there among the students, then he wasn't, so had to come up with something...
