The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

I find it interesting who would agree/disagree with Adon in character
Dave, Arthur and my upcoming character Chao, would all disagree with Adon
Lucas and Grim, on the other hand, would agree with him

Les'see

Archena would disagree with both. Dinosaurs are better than both magic and weaponry.

Hermes can't do magic, but as far as he's concerned, both are just tools with strategy being the most important thing.

Kevin does magic for the sake of science, but as of late, his own physical abilities seem to be the most affective.

Lewis doesn't care how, he just wants to protect Tarka.

Lim-Môr... Por que no las dos?

Sara doesn't fight, but the animals protect her.

Tybs... "wait, magic has a limit? No one told me that..."

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

So Hermes agrees with me!

Since that is kinda what I am trying to say. The more tools one has, the more strategic options one has available, though she believes that, she wouldn't say it quite that way.

Expect it doesn't matter, when magic has all the better tools, or can just summon the other tools.
Summoners come to mind.

(Adon speaking with metagame terms. the player's actual opinion may differ.)

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

summons can be defeated just like anything else, and they also can be banished.

Wondering If I should have munchkined my character a little bit. Everyone else seems to have done so, and I can see a time the future when Vickory might need to demonstrate what she is saying.

Interestingly, Adon thinks magic is so much better, yet only the fact that Vickory knows both magic and Martial skills, would allow her to truly fight him at all. If she was exactly what Adon thinks is best, wouldn't she be handily defeated since Adon isn't affected by magic? Or am I misunderstanding the whole magic immunity thing?

Something for her to point out if she ever understands the scope of Adon's immunity.

Totally wishing I could cast Major/Minor creation in combat right now.

Adon isn't immune.
He has sr 26, and can touch things with mage's disjunction.

Also, adon doesn't count himself- a one-in-everything chance of fighting the one thing that has adon's powers (him) is very, very low.

male human gestalt fighter 15/duelist 9, rouge 5, monk 1

A caster with fly?

You win.
Adon has no form of ranged attack. At all.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Mad monkeys and Cloudkill.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Well, seems I've got to go.

-_-

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Maybe i can post with my phone...

That might be for the best.
You need to take a rant break.

Shadow Lodge

I imagine instantaneous stuff would be Adon's bane.

Im not ranting. Adon is more bias then me, an I actally love maji, clerics, and inquisitors.

Or summons like he was talking about, or a martial better at being a martial than him,

male human gestalt fighter 15/duelist 9, rouge 5, monk 1

I can disjoin a summon. I think.

What about called/bound summons

No clue.

Let's go 50/50 to be easy, as its really not that big a deal. High he hit, low he misses, on a d100. 1d100, hit

Or you could, you know... roll the real one, since there's more than two...

Just sayin....

:P
(But srsly)

Both Doppelganger Except younger looking Factotum 16/Taskshaper 6/Chameleon 10(Gestalt)

Here's how that works

1) I roll to d8, and David can say anything I roll hits an image, and how can I know the truth?

2) We waste more time having him post which of them is real and then my rolling, etc.

I'm hitting his robes, so it really doesn't make much of a difference and my way is fastest and moves this forward.

Also, can people not David, myself or a GM..

Stay out of this, unless asked for input?

Sorry.
I was just saying that it seems kind of unfair.
The chances are 1/8, but you cut it to 1/2 to remove one of his significant buffs.
There's eight, so it makes sense that you roll a d8 and 8 hits him.

I know this isn't my combat, but I just feel like we should go with the actual ability, or at least the same odds.

Sorry. :/

Shadow Lodge

You've nothing to apologize for, Magic.

In this game everyone is a GM. Not just Lyn. Not just FCD, Dalesman, or myself. Everyone. That's why this game us great. We are all capable of stepping up to help.

Lyn has so much on her plate, why shouldn't the rest of us GMs step up when needed?

I guess I'll be away for a while now...someone may have to PM me if something besides the duel happens?

waiting on Vai for Mel and I am slowing down Lang's trip so don't get to far ahead. (no expected disasters on that trip.)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Alright, here's the deal. I love a good percentile roll. It solves many problems by simplifying the mechanics so that we don't need to waste time on needless back and forth about rules. However, Magic is also right. The odds shouldn't be drastically changed when simplifying. Something to keep in mind in future. On the other other hand, Ace's roll was above an 88 percent (the real cutoff when the odds are divided appropriately) so he hits the real Dave anyways and this whole thing is moot except for bringing up a good point to follow in the future.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Typing the command to roll dice is the same length of time. Especially with the marvel of copy/paste :P

He is a sorceror, and mirror image is one of his key defensive spells.
No matter how irritating or time consuming it is, let it ride.

Also, this Ace/David combat is boring me to tears. Sorry guys, but rules heavy combat just isn't that much fun to read. So I am relying on people to let me know when I need to pay attention to something in that.
At the risk of sounding like Dami, less ooc text and numbers and more description please! At least give me entertaining descriptive text to read! :)

Shadow Lodge

Hmm... Good fighting without rules clogging the way...

Idea. ^-^

Hey, I tried to make it at least somewhat interesting with my last action.

David apparently wants to play magic tailor though.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Ace, not cool. Keep the insulting remarks to the actual combat.

And your last post did have some description...elaborate on that, keep adding lots of descriptive text regarding actions, expressions, tone, etc. That will make for a much more interesting combat that furthers character development much more.

Dave, that goes for you too. Exact same advice about how to write combat posts so that they make people interested in what's going on.

Not exactly the same thing....and the battle knitter is definitely going to be a thing. :)

You should look up the War Weaver Lyn.

They get a Battle Tapestry ability.

I remember than class...I always wanted to play one of those. Might combine it with something else, presuming I still have that book. I might not. It might have been gotten rid of in the great book purge.

Yay! Thanks, MG! This will definitely be helpful in building this not so usual character. :)

And now I have to get some sleep.

Hmmmm, to prank the barbarian or not to prank the barbarian. that is the question.

So...

Gavin is a lurker at Avalon?

I support this suggestion and the poster's clearly impressive taste.

To reiterate what was mentioned before, this idea is only considered by someone that is stupid, arrogantly brave, or otherwise invincible (cause nearly invincible isn't quite good enough)

On the other hand, it might be funny.

Good luck Loki, hopefully you won't find Thor in disguise. :)

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Not for anytime soon, as I have a few other concepts I need to bring in first, but I have seriously been thinking of making a Ghost/Phantom Rider inspired character...

Would likely be an Inquisitor, while the second half is dependent on whether I want him to wield a hellfire chain like the Blaze/Ketch GR, or pistols more akin to PR.

Oh, and definitely have a Nightmare mount :)

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

You know I was called the Ghost Rider for awhile? It was only a pedal bike, but still, I would ride through the woods behind the high school on my way to work. Since I have sensitive eyes, I never needed, nor used a light (though I did have reflectors).

I heard from a friend who was still going to the school, that there were rumors of a Ghost Rider riding through the woods, and he wanted me to go hunting for it. I couldn't because of work, but a few days later I accidentally scared this group so bad the the girlfriend (loudly, while I was riding away) dumped her boyfriend right then and there for wetting himself. It was then I realized it was me that was "haunting" the woods.

---
Hmm, I've been thinking about trying to make a black blood sorcerer bloodline. Need something for the non-divine reaplings, cause I've never been happy with divine spell lists.

Male Imp Gestalt Alchemist/Wizard 15

First I said that and second, he can't hit what he can't see.

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Who says he can't see you? After all he has a "friend" nearby that just might help him out with the vision issue, without saying anything to him about magic tricks. :)

Male Imp Gestalt Alchemist/Wizard 15

Point taken, does his whole I eat magic thing effect my extracts or are those safe?

[Query]....

So this little 'spat' between Ace and Dave is supposed to be happening in a SIM room. Are all the Cafeteria comments I'm seeing later in the game thread just the ones being made prior to Royston shooing them off to the basement? Or did I miss another potential brawl brewing in my board absence?

(And apologies for said absence. Our office flooded over the weekend and we've been having a peach of a time getting everything dried out to prevent a mold outbreak while still trying to do business).

Royston put the fight on screens around the school.

I honestly have no idea why he'd be allowed to do this, or why a teacher thinks it's a good idea to put personal matters out as a form of entertainment to students who have expressed dislike of this happening after all that did this weekend.
But, no one is correcting his action, so I assume it isn't as bad as I think it is.

Not so much. When I first introduced him, he was working with one of darknlights characters, but that went no where when he quit posting.

So, I had to change a few things. He was still at Avalon, but instead of being trained in the sims by Enre's brother, he was either in a therapeutical sim or in the infirmary recovering from his forced conversion into an Elan. He was there among the students, then he wasn't, so had to come up with something...
