The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Royston put the fight on screens around the school.

I honestly have no idea why he'd be allowed to do this, or why a teacher thinks it's a good idea to put personal matters out as a form of entertainment to students who have expressed dislike of this happening after all that did this weekend.
But, no one is correcting his action, so I assume it isn't as bad as I think it is.

SIM room stuff is typically recorded for anyone to view at a later date, but if you think the school would be better off if people didn't see, you have the capability to stop it. :)

I mean, RP wise, stuff is happening.
It's just that it's kind of destroying the reputations of two PC's.
The main thing is that I don't understand why a teacher would think this is a good idea.
It just doesn't make sense to me in character.

Nothing like a good public shaming to keep folks in line. ;D

Plus, how else would Royston get a cut of the gambling profits?

Sorry Ed, I had missed your last post with Mel. Will post soon.

@Imperial Chronicler + Magic:

This is what I posted.

>On Screens across the school, where such things are shown, the scene inside the SimRoom is now displayed.<

1: Now take that how you like, from oversight to security to recording. But there is nothing stopping students of the right age, tuning into the fight, sorry but I am not going to block other players from seeking the Duel if they wish to. :)

2: Not entertainment education for students. :)

3: Why is he allowing this duel,
Because 2 PCs asked for it, and they are doing it by the book.
If you don't like that take it up with them. :)

PS
sorry to hear about the flooding.

Sorry for being confused, but there are a lot of Svarogs. It is Solus and Hestia who are Cindra's siblings?

I am also confused. I remember Lyn did a big post explaining it... Let me try to find it.

Found it. Here.

TLDR: Lucas, Lily and Phaedra are siblings as are Solus, Hestia and Cindra. Pyrrhos is an only child. They are all cousins of the same House (Paternal lines? Not sure how inheritance works).

All I know is heista was a savrog.

I took her from the list of untaken firebirds.

Thanks FCD .. I am at work and did not have the time to find it.

Krezzin, in case you missed it, i did post. I can wait until you're done at work, of course.

Just throwing out a reminder, if you are confused about an in-game situation, it might be more entertaining to explore in-game.

Oh, and per my account, while I suspect a week or more of real life will pass for this 'duel' to conclude, if it does ever, it's only been five (or so?) rounds, so like, thirty seconds or just a minute.

Or less, since talking, but not reciting The Tale of Two Cities, typically takes no time.

</end helpful suggestion attempt>

I think in the case of the question of Svarog familial identity, it was perfectly fine to define that out of game. Wouldn't make sense if our characters didn't know this stuff after all. ;P

Well... unless they all had a sudden bout of amensia. Could happen!

My suggestion had nothing to do with that topic, or I probably would have quoted. :)

I realized that after posting, heh.

I just figure everything's about me. Things are easier that way. ;)

Hee hee. Nice response, clear and distinct.

We're using Magic/Psionics are the same, yes? So an Anti-Magic Field is the same as a Null-Psionics Field, correct?

David's Crystal Shard is not protected vs the Field, and thus winks out of existence as soon as the shard crosses the barrier, right?

Also, its too late now for a fix to be made, but Ace was referring to David getting his vengeance on the lich, not himself.

Shadow Lodge

Magic/Psionic Transparency is in effect, yes. Antimagic field is Null Psionics Field and vice versa.

BTW DB3, Asha and Rena are looking for Pyry. :)

yes it is in effect, but the crystals I thought were solid objects, once created there's nothing magic about them, I remember it working that way in 3.5...

rules quote:

Metacreativity powers create objects, creatures, or some form of matter. Creatures you create usually, but not always, obey your commands.

A metacreativity power draws raw ectoplasm from the Astral Plane to create an object or creature in the place the psionic character designates (subject to the limits noted above). Objects created in this fashion are as solid and durable as normal objects, despite their originally diaphanous substance. Psionic creatures created with metacreativity powers are considered constructs, not outsiders.

A creature or object brought into being cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it. The creature or object must appear within the power’s range, but it does not have to remain within the range.

For the purpose of psionics-magic transparency, metacreativity powers are equivalent to powers of the conjuration school (thus, creatures immune to conjuration spells are also immune to metacreativity powers).

Creation
A power of the creation subdiscipline creates an object or creature in the place the manifester designates (subject to the limits noted above). If the power has a duration other than instantaneous, psionic energy holds the creation together, and when the power ends, the created creature or object vanishes without a trace, except for a thin film of glistening ectoplasm that quickly evaporates. If the power has an instantaneous duration, the created object or creature is merely assembled through psionics. It lasts indefinitely and does not depend on psionics for its existence.

Sadie never sleeps in. She does however spend time each morning cleaning the light blades classroom to get it ready for the day...well, at least she does until they get an actual teacher and she can go back to doing things like attend classes....

Do you need her in another location? I can have her go get some breakfast if that will help.

How do you mean 'much more powerful'? What's your comparison against?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

The standard ones in the beastiary.

icehawk333 wrote:

There are different levels of power among succubi in this setting. Ginni's mom is one of the advanced type. Ginni's powers are like her mom's, so they are more rare and more powerful.

Ah. Alright.

Curiously--

Who's the primary point of contact, or author on the whole of Firebird society here?

I'll profess I'm not clear on who's the keeper of the flame, as it were, and I have some questions to throw, ala PM, for plot(s).

My assumption is Lynora (sorry, FireclawDrake), but I'd hate to ruffle feathers here.

Your assumption is correct. Firebirds are my creation. Initially it was just background info and then, well....then game happened. :)

Blame FireclawDrake! It's all his fault.

Also, I was meaning to ask, Dami: Why the sudden interest in populating the world of NPC's?
Not that there needs to be a reason, but it just seems kind of out of the blue that you take such an interest in it all of a sudden.
Just curious.

Shadow Lodge

There is one point overlooked by both groups
Logistics
There is a military truism it can be quoted in two ways,
Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics." - Unattributed.
“”Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics, bystanders talk weapons and idiots talk about staying the course" - Also unattributed

Adon was talking weapons, (things like fly, cloudkill, summons and spells per day)
Vicory was talking tactics (everything has a counter)
What they neglected, was logistics
Which is easier, forming a small army, or hiring an Arcmage strong enough to take one on
Ok, while you're thinking on that, make it a large army with a few casters spread out in it, or the previous Arcmage and small army
Which could be in the most places at once
which would be safest... Which would be the most likely to kill you and take their payment that way

Recently inspired.

I get my inspiration from all sorts of sources (gives Lynora a hit tip), plus none of my (N)PCs at this time are in a position to interact with others. I'm trying to figure out what they are doing right now, actually, complex folk that they are.

So I'm just venting creative energies-- some by request (motions at FireclawDrake, "Definitely his fault *there*.), some by my need to sublimate the horrors of my current day to day situation(s).

If there's one thing I cannot stand, it's the sheer lack of 'content' beyond what people have posted about their own peoples, and I thought I'd fill things up a bit here and there. It's not a complaint, it's an attempt to resolve my annoyance in a manner I enjoy and trust is appreciated.

The setting and potential of this campaign is QUITE appealing, I'm doing my part to contribute to it, without imposing. :)

tl;dr -- I enjoy it.
