The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Sorry for taking a while to get back to this; my mother suffered a stroke two nights ago, and I didn't want to leave while I had the time to be in the hospital. She's going to be fine, though they do expect that her time will be much shorter than expected now; there will be some lasting damage from the stroke. It's hard, but I accept that there's nothing that can be done for her except to make her passing comfortable, whenever that moment comes.

Rather than dwell on that, though, I'll address the questions at hand that Loki has. Kodjack is a Superstitious barbarian, which means that he has Blindsense in addition to other senses. I probably should put that in the profile, now that I think of it. It's only 30 ft, and can't actually see, but can sense generally where danger is. It's like what's been discussed with David, I think.

Also, as far as I know, extracts are an arcane creation, so I do think that his ability will apply.

Don't bring a chain sword when a blow torch will suffice, right?!

Each world the image show a POV passing it, on each temples, holy sites, hospitals, places of hermitage and contemplation. Then the images moves in again, to systems single sun. You can feel from the image it radiating light, love, healing and companion to the worlds around it. Then time seems to winds back, you see the sun bust into life backwoods, a brown dwarf shrink until you see a lump of rock in a accretion dick, then a gas cloud and a point of light flying out of it. the view follows that point of light, the image stops, there you see a being made of light.

"A starseed"

Do not be 'trippin' balls' when interacting with Starseeds. Your sanity may be put at risk.

... what did Dave say?

What?

Whistles innocently, looking around.

"What, wot?" when looking towards {things you do to a baby seal}{tool for digging in the UK}Magic{stuff people bleed for in Africa, and else where}{rip this out, things die}

But, yeah, like that -- only richer accent.

"Wuot?"

Not sure how it would be properly spelled. Nice reference.

Meant to say:

Very sorry to hear that.
Would you mind if I/others offered prayers?

Using resources in the most efficient and tactically viable way, aka strategy. Strategy includes making sure your logistical resources aren't wasted.

Best option is a versatile military, thus you can send however many may be needed with no worries about who can handle what.

Personally I would have squads with martial casters as the primary elements with a couple specialists (healers, "heavy weapons," etc,
who can still fight) and each company would have a squad of specialists (mega-spell casters, high level healers, item crafters to make specialty equipment, etc,) etc, etc, etc.

In this way I can just worry about numbers, rather then worrying about having the right specialist. Additionally, making martial casters generally means having a well trained military, rather then low level soldiers, or worse, conscripts (of course conscripts are next to worthless until guns or similar weapons become available anyway) thus, there is no way to have a single specialist wipe out entire units of the military, well not anyone short of a deity anyway.

It also means the military is more useful out of combat, since they can also deal with natural disasters, bandit patrols, fugitive hunting, dealing with wild monsters, etc, etc, etc.

OrderNChaos, sorry about your mother. Make her laugh, it will help. Always does.

Adon, not sure whether your referring to game or reality, but remember, just because it is the only person you know of, doesn't mean it is actually the only person you have had that effect on.

I know from experience, sometimes we affect others without knowing it.

male human gestalt fighter 15/duelist 9, rouge 5, monk 1

In game, of course.
To my knowladge, in this game I've only ever sucesfuly helped one person.

Ugh, not a good day with the puppy.

My brother went to the city today and didn't bother to wake me or let me know, so the dog trashed some of the house. Including spilling a fair amount of Magic cards.

Then, when I decided to try to let her have a little freedom off the leash, she took off and ran all the way down the street, forcing me to chase her. With my messed up foot.

Finally, she freaked out when I went the 100 or so feet to the mailbox, and knocked over and I believe broke the lamp that serves as my primary light source in my living room, where my laptop is setup. Thankfully, I was able to move the other one we have in here, but its still rather dark in the room.

Suffice to say, not really in the mood to post right now. Just wanted to give peoples a heads up.

OC, I'm very sorry to hear that your mom has taken a turn for the worse.

*hugs*

If you need to take time off from the game at any point, we understand.

And we'll be here with the insanity to distract when you need as well.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

MG, this is why I'm a cat person. ;P

More seriously, I hope your foot is okay and the rest of your day is less frustrating.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Lyn I sent you a PM response. No rush though...

I find cats and dogs equally irritating.

I used to love both and I've had them all my life, but the round we have right now are very quickly ruining animals in general for me...

Is tindy still there?

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Ferrets are the best of both worlds, but you gotta keep an eye on them.
Also, they only live for about 7 years, so the heartbreak is a bit more frequent...

Yes.
He's one of the reasons...

I've always wanted a ferret.
Or a hedgehog.
Or a chinchilla.
I heard ferrets smell really nasty...

LOL
No they don't. They are usually sold de-musked. They smell musky but it's not like a skunk or anything.

Even de muskeg they do have a very unique scent though
Hedgehogs are quality pets, they are fairly low mantinence, and make adorable *pft* sounds, primarially when they are unhappy, scared or hurt, but still

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I'm going to watch First Class, in prep to see Days of Future Past again.

Should put me in a good mood to post once I'm done.

Except that umm...

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Oh, and there was one thing of super goodness today:

The Harrow Handbook came in the mail finally!

An incoming PC shall totally make use of that :)

I intend to get a hedgehog once all these pets are gone. Dogs and cats would kill one.
But this is why Tybs has Jericho. My imaginary hedgehog to surrogate the one I can't have right now. :)

Did I miss posts from anyone?

Hey let me know if it has anything useable with a real tarot deck. I have a personal distaste for their harrow deck, though I like some of their concepts for making use of a deck of cards.

I just finished watching The Lego Movie...

Damn, that seriously is probably the best movie to come out since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Totally agree with ya FCD. I took my friend Rose to go see it while it was still in theaters here, and it was so freakin awesome!

Okay-- here for a short bit, then sleep. Did I miss anything? Need an update?

Is Nurse Julie a 24 hour nurse, via magic or something, or did she sleep last night?

Just curious. :)

The other evening nurse is gone by this hour, in case, Edward. I'm fairly sure there's just a few other staff in case.

Male looking Edan Gun-Karta Teacher [Energy and Fire Arms]

Ok guys I'm intervening here in the Duel, it's hit a stalemate
We could keep going, but now Ace is basically asking Dave to
Keep still wile he kicks him, also as Lyanora has pointed out this is dull,
Having you at a stand off is duller.

In game post coming.

Both Doppelganger Except younger looking Factotum 16/Taskshaper 6/Chameleon 10(Gestalt)

Huh? No. That's not at all what I said.

What Ace is saying he wants is an actual fist fight more or less, not this magickal powers nonsense. He wants a physical, knock down, drag out, break some bones, loose some teeth hockey type brawl.

Something to truly vent his bottled up emotions. He could care less who "wins" so long as a real fight is had.

Male looking Edan Gun-Karta Teacher [Energy and Fire Arms]

Its not that Ace its what he just said that of course has made Royston intervene.

Ace has clearly said he's had a bad few days and wants to beat on another student to feel better or have that student beat on him.
[from the above post "really" beat on one]

I'm sorry but no teacher will let that happen, it sets a very bad precedent for students and is very unhealthy for Ace and David.
Students can used the SimRooms to vent of anger, but not other students, sorry that's a very big no-no unless OKed as part of a GM ok'ed back story/Arch etc, this is not.

You put Royston in a position where he has to act. Also Royston suspected this was what was driving Ace but now Ace has admitted it... well punishment is due and the school has seen such student targeted anger its not expectable.

In a nut shell

A student can't be violent to other student because he wants to feel better, no way, and letting another student hurt them to do the same is even more unhealthy.

Dave on the other hand, should not have let himself BE provoked, again lack of self-control showing.

So As a Teacher Royston is ending this, with punishment for both of you.

:)

Shadow Lodge

Why exactly are they being punished for something that was going to be handled safely in the sim rooms regardless of what their motivations were?

I'd also love to know how Royston 'suspected anything remotely like what Ace went through, since I bet he wasn't there for any of it.

Again, this isn't my place, but I feel like I should say:
The teachers aren't there to intervene and take control of things. They're usually the go to to help things if they get out of hand, but I'm sorry, I feel like you're going a bit far with Royston trying to control this.
It's usually the teacher's job to stay out if the way unless asked for. Not that they can't have story, but that it needs to stay out of the way of the PC student story.
Sorry. :/
