Something to help get you all in the Suicide Squad mood, if you're into this kind of music: Heathens by Twenty One Pilots It's from the movie's soundtrack and was released just last month.

Demoniac |

Sheet Changelog:
* Dropped 4 skill ranks
* Dropped Immovable entirely (which dropped his Knockback mod)
* Dropped the Jack-of-all-Trades feat
* Added the Innate power feat to Immunity, Protection, Regeneration, and Strike
* Boosted Regeneration, which means:
* * He can now regrow lost limbs
* * He automatically recovers from one injured/staggered condition every round with no rest and one bruised/unconscious check per standard action
Everything else is unchanged. Now, question: can he start recovering from bruised/unconscious for free if he has no injured/staggered conditions? Or does that only apply to injured/staggered?

Hello all! I realized that there might be a tiny chance that not everyone in this group saw it posted in the Justice League discussion, but I am going to run a game that takes place in the same universe. The recruitment was less than stellar. If anyone here would like to join, please join us over at the discussion.

The Outsiders will be a companion game to Justice League: Generations and Suicide Squad: Generations. The tone is a bit more discrete than your typical superhero tale. The focus is more on black ops and stealth but with it's fair share of action.
We have one available slot for the time being.
System: Mutants and Masterminds 2nd edition
Setting: DC Universe set 20 years forward from current time. We are playing loose with much of the history and what was or was not canon.
Synopsis: When a clandestine operation gets greenlit by top US government officials, A.R.G.U.S. Director Dick Grayson has no choice but to work outside the red tape. While he can't readily act against the motion, he sends in a group he knows will get the job done. He sends in The Outsiders.
Submission:
Power Level: 10
Power Points: 165
Impervious: Capped at ½ your Toughness.
Trade Offs: Capped at +/- 4. For instance, Defence/Toughness max at a combined total of 20, average of which would be 10 and 10. Max trade off value would be 6 and 14 or 14 and 6.
Please have a quick paragraph or two for a backstory, and include why exactly Dick Grayson trusts them so much.
This will be my second attempt at GMing a PbP. I expect at least one post per day, but I understand that life is a thing that exists.
The team currently consists of:
Iota, size/density manipulator
Gravewound, a technomancing killing machine
Knightingale, vigilante and daughter of Green Arrow and Black Canary
And an unnamed Gadgeteer
Recruitment will be closed once we (myself and the other four players) have reached a consensus, or a week from today. Whichever comes first.
Hope to see some great ideas.

Word as to my wearabouts: I've moved city. From Alberta to British Columbia (from western Canada to even more western Canada). The weekend was all packin boxes, loading the truck, driving, unloading the truck, and so on. Right now I am up to my eyeballs in boxes. I've finally got Wifi hooked up, but time is still at a premium due to all the work.
I'll try to get some time to dedicate to the game, but I hope you can be patient with me. I'll be copying this message over to my other games as well.

Kid Alchemy |

Just want to express a comment on how I see the direction the game is taking and where KA fits into it. Right now it seems to be a breakout. If it succeeds, KA will thank his confederates, and get the hell away from them as fast as possible. They are evidently a bunch of dangerous killers, which is not what he wishes to be, nor associate with (no offense, just how I built the character and his outlook). He will move as far as possible from the U.S. and disappear into some third world nook (hence not playing anymore unless tracked down and apprehended).
I understood this game was about villains when I signed up, so I know what I was getting into. I just decided that in spite of my general dislike for playing villains, Suicide Squad would offer me a chance to play a redemption character. KA was a reluctant villain at best, and had he been offered a slot on the squad, the shot at redemption would have been something he leapt at (rather like Bronze Tiger for example).
To put it simply, I don't play villains, and if this campaigns requires that, I probably shouldn't stick around. A villain trying to redeem himself, I can do, but I don't see that in the cards right now.

Well, spoilers (sort of), I already know our breakout attempt is going to fail. I don't know how, or when (hell, it could be we escape and are recaptured a week later), but we (and certainly not Lance) are not getting away free from this.
It would completely ruin a Suicide Squad game if we did, regardless.

Kalden The Bastard |

In response to KA, this is how The Bastard sees it:
He's trying to do the right thing, but his criminal tendencies keep him from that goal. Right now, he's breaking out because it's the easy thing to do, it's what comes naturally for him. If he breaks out, it gives him a chance to blow Grandmaster's face clear off his shoulders. That's his attempts at super heroics.

Jack Carter - ShockJock |

I like playing villains, as it's something that doesn't happen very often in most gaming media. It's how I designed Jack. He is a bad guy, a thug through and through. He's a right a~$%!$@ to pretty much everybody, including anybody he works for/with. He's definitely not a hero to anybody but himself.
It'll suck if you do leave, KA, though I'm sure that something will happen to keep us here.

Deacon is a villain in the same way that Mafia Dons are villains, really. He looks after himself, his own, and screw everyone else. Sure, he has some self-imposed rules here and there, but he doesn't really have any qualms about killing.
The only real reason he has a problem being locked up in Belle Reve is because they've cut off all contact with the outside world. And because of that, he's now missing out on new episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The lack of contact with the rest of his underworld empire is a tragedy, of course. But really, he needs his trashy TV show fix.
Should we so happen to get re-captured in the future, he'll be fine with lounging in Belle Reve with the rest of the squad between missions if they give him a cell phone and a satellite TV. He is a simple immortal with simple pleasures.
That said, this wouldn't be a Suicide Squad game without us getting recaptured, so I'm guessing the "break out" attempt is really just a way for whoever our Amanda Waller is to test our abilities.

Checking in. Sorry for the prolonged absence all. Life continues to be extremely busy. I moved my family to another city, and then had to return to the old city to continue working my job (everyone needs money) while searching for a new job in the new city. That, along with trying to spend as much time with my family via video chat as I can has left me with little free time, and less energy.
I now have a job lined up, and so this past week or two has switched from job hunting mode to wrapping up the old job to leave things as neat as possible. Again leaving me busy and tired. I'm hoping to have things calmed down again in the near future. I will try to give you updates so you don't think I've died, or abandoned you completely.
Talk to you again soon.

When I was a kid I saw an interview with Anatoly Karpov.
He was the guy that regularly tussled with Kasparov "Yes THE Kasparov" to determine the King Lord Grand High Moff HeavyWeight Champion of the Chess World of Chess.
These guys played legendary -epic- games that were talked of by the wizards of smart as some of the best games on the planet.
It's through that prism that he being interviewed.
So this guy, ranked in the best of the best, the top 1% OF the top 1%, the giant amongst professionals, said, quote, "I still feel like I have not yet played my best chess."
This guy who beat all comers and was sitting down with the only guy on the whole damn planet who could beat him was saying that -HE- still had something in the basement that would make everything that he had done up to that point cry for its mama in awe of the thing that he was about to do.
That's kinda how I feel about this campaign. While I'm pleased with how I was developing as a PBP'er, I feel like this game, and this character, was really getting me to dig, deep down, and explore what I had in the basement to really get down into some -real- role playing.
Thusly, that is how sad I am that this game is dead.
(Yes, I know that me posting this will keep it from the inactive list for a bit longer, but I thought that was a small price to pay.)

Poked my head in and was surprised to see activity on my forum. Ya, I've really been missing my games lately. Essentially, what happened to me was a change of jobs. In my old job I had a ton of free time, while in the new one, I really don't.
I've pretty much always posted from breaks at work, so never having any time at work has pretty much destroyed my ability to post in the way I used to. I really miss my games, and I'd like to get into it again. I've never really posted from home much; I have small kids, and when I'm home, I like to just be with them.
Funny you guys brought up the Supernatural game with Jarrod and Kishan, but I was just thinking about that one the other day too. That was probably one of my favourite games ever. Was probably on my mind as I am rereading Dresden files during my commutes.
I love M&M. Probably my favourite system at the moment.
