Laurel's player here.
This is my first foray into SF2 - I got sold on the "same engine" as PF2 (of which I am an avid fan) and am throwing my favorite personality here - he has been a Rogue, a Ranger, a Swashbuckler before - now slotting easily into the Envoy class.
This character has high DX/CHA skills, and contributes with some firepower as well as granting bonuses to my allies and penalties to my enemies. I took Weapon Proficiency to gain access to some of those sweet martial weapons, expanding his toolkit to include area damage. So, some skills, buff, debuff, ranged single- and multi- strike.
Cheers!

Also my first foray into SF2. I've plaid a non-trivial amount of SF1 (in fact my only completed APs are in SF1), but I'm quite happy it's getting the streamlined PF2-engine treatment.
This character is some sort of science/scholarly nerd whose spellcasting is based on the Akashic record. So they will hopefully bring mysterious/occult elements into the game (a-la the X-files, I haven't yet figured out what a Mulder+Scully personality looks like... we'll see).
SF2 Playtest - Dr. Sani |
Oops, just found out the hard way that hephaistos2e doesn't save yet, I'll have to rebuild later tonight.
Yes, I learned that the hard way as well. There is an export function, but no import function...
Will generate and complete details later (probably tomorrow). We're starting at L1, right?

herolab.online has the Starfinder playtest enabled for all accounts (paid and free).
Fengsai |
I have mostly played SF1e but did play PF2e for a few months about a year ago. So far in the playtest I've played a mysti, soldier, and operative.
As the 2nd Witchwarper in the party, I'm looking to see what interesting things we can do with using 2 quantum fields. We can cover a huge area and have different effects, or could take turns moving our quantum fields around.
For skill checks, I have the competitive spirit ancestry feat, if someone fails a skill check, and I have the same skill, I can try the same skill at +2, so I will likely let others roll first.
I watched Alita Battle Angle recently, I also used to play roller derby, so Fengsai is built from the ground up for battle sports, although she may have also been involved in a recent resistance movement in the Veskarium. Built for speed, and diverse damage types, and can help the rest of the team with both of those too. Also good at slowing opponents down, with glue if necessary.

I found a way to download my character as a PDF, originally I was just going to keep it online but all good now, just need to clean up my forum character sheet but have all the info now.
Yes starting at 1st level, I think we get to level up during this one or at the end not sure which.
@ Zashodu, Thanks I'll check that out later maybe when we level up, would be nice to not have to keep rebuilding.

Starting at level 1, stuff is expensive. You get 150 Credits to spend. But After buying 1 Armor, 1 Melee, 1 Ranged weapon, 1 Container and Just barely more than enough ammo to fill the weapon, I have no credits to spend on a hacking kit. Not everyone needs to the same stuff and my guy has computers, so hopefully someone has a hacking kit, therefore I can say I borrowed his/her hacking kit while making that computers check.
Yes I'm a witchwarper, but I'm more of an Arcane fighter. I took the Android type that gives me access to Martial weapons. And I have Sure Strike.

Chuck your melee weapon?
=)
You're right, I'll buy it later. He isn't going to be melee at level 1.
Now I can buy that hacking kit and won't have to question did he borrow. Since I do have computers.Lysle |
Looks like we could use an operative? Give me a day or two to put together some ideas.

I apologize, I've been ill.
And y'all were ready faster than I expected.
There's a link to some Slides posted now.
GM Super Zero |
Oh, I should have asked for those.
Well, I'll act on the assumption that someone would have been Scouting for now, then.

Hey now, I may have neglected to ask about exploration activities, but I'm pretty sure I did ask about Initiative bonuses on the Slides.
I'd go for investigate (+6 Life Science)
Life Science Lore wouldn't apply here. Crafting or Occultism?
...nevermind, I rolled a die for a secret check for you, and the result was a failure regardless of your bonus."But GM, what's the point of rolling a secret check and then telling us the result?"
I don't see a conflict between being transparent about game mechanics and using secret checks. You'd know it was a failure anyway from the lack of information, but spelling it out confirms that I didn't just forget to do it. Just keep in mind that if I were to roll a critical failure, I'd tell you it was a success as part of the false information.
