Aid token overview:

Aid tokens can be used as a free action for any of the uses below. In high-conflict areas, the aid tokens may not work as expected. Once the token is used, it is sent to another table for their use.
  • Aid another: A Pathfinder helps you solve a puzzle, trap, or other task, performing the Aid Another action on a single check.
  • Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder strikes at the same time as you, adding 1d8 to the damage of one attack. The target is considered flanked until the beginning of the attacker's next turn.
  • Burst of Healing: All of the PCs are healed of 1d6 points of damage. This may also be used to cast neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease at CL 5.
  • Spellcasting Synergy: A spell is cast simultaneously with your own, increasing CL and DC by 1.
  • Timely inspiration: The party receives the effects of the inspire courage and inspire competence bardic performances (+1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls and +2 competence bonus on one particular skill).

    Another question!

    So I've done a number of specials, though this is the first online one.
    In those previous ones, all players were considered to be at the 'same table' for the purposes of trading spells and stuff between arcane casters at the end.

    Is that something that happens, or can happen, in the pbp arena? Seems like it would be very hard to coordinate, but makes for a wonderful perk for caster-types if it does happen.

    Though I suppose since we're a Core table, that adds a further wrinkle... Probably can only exchange with other core players... but there were 3 core tables I think.

    Faction Cards: You can do anything you deem appropriate. A few obvious ones accomplished at first glance:

  • Dark Archive: Recover a named artifact (you're about to recover the Sky Key)
  • Grand Lodge: Disrupt Aspis operation, Defeat Aspis of sufficient CR
  • Silver Crusade: Accept Surrender. Asmodeans were CR 1.
  • The Exchange: Resolve an encounter nonviolently

    There are a number of guests and such to recruit, which you can do as well (either RPing as happening before the attack, or later once things calm down. Others probably also apply. Let me know if you want me to see if you qualify for something.

    Spellbooks: I've played two specials and GM'd one, all in person, and haven't seen that take place. I can look into it, though.

    One last thing as I start to get the chronicle ready: boons!

    Please review the list below and tell me which you would like. Depending on the overall level of success the special achieves, you may earn 0, 1, or 2 of these. I can almost guarantee you'll receive at least one, and I think it's likely you'll get two.

    Please make sure I can tell which is your first choice, and which you'd add if you are indeed eligible for a second. You cannot choose the same boon twice.

    Each of the following has two checkboxes.

    Pathfinder's Excellence (Combat)

    Spoiler:
    Before making an attack, you may check one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll the attack twice and take the better result. If the attack is against a member of the Aspis Consortium or someone directly in the Consortium’s employ, the critical threat range of the attack doubles; this benefit doesn’t stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon (such as the Improved Critical feat). Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.

    Pathfinder's Excellence (Magic)

    Spoiler:
    Before casting a spell or using a spell-like ability, you can check
    one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll twice for any caster level check to overcome spell resistance and on caster level or concentration checks made to cast a spell in an impeded area (such as a fire spell underwater or a plane with the impeded magic trait). Any members of the Aspis Consortium or foes directly in the Consortium’s employ suffer a –2 penalty on any saving throw against the spell.

    As a standard action, you can instead check two boxes in order to recall a spell that you have already cast that day. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast. Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.

    Pathfinder's Excellence (Resilience)

    Spoiler:
    As a swift action, you can check one of the boxes preceding this boon to gain a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d8 plus twice your character level. These temporary hit points last for 10 minutes and do not stack with any other temporary hit points. So long as you have at least 1 of these temporary hit points remaining, you also have DR 2/— against attacks made by members of the Aspis Consortium and anyone in their direct employ. Alternatively, as a standard action you can check a box in order to heal 1d2 points of ability damage to one ability score. Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet.

    Pathfinder's Excellence (Skill)

    Spoiler:

    Before attempting a skill check, you can check one of the boxes preceding this boon in order to roll the check twice and take the better result. If the skill check is one attempted during an encounter in which you are directly opposing a member of the Aspis Consortium or someone in their employ, you gain a bonus to the check equal to half your character level (minimum +1). Once you check the last box, cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet
