You do think that if you keep your "lucky streak" up long enough though, they'll start to catch on. If you want to get something out of them, you might wanna do it while they're still happy.
This is my plan - but I went in half-cocked: I have no idea what I "want" from them.
Anyone wanna jump in!?
=)

GM Kwinten |

I could've also leaned in to your story a bit more, but I've been suffering from a very vicious flu all week, and I'm not at 100% brain capacity at the moment.

Cherry Berry |

I know I haven't been exactly chatty, but I am presuming it is a mistake you left Cherry off the initiative list?

So sorry Cherry Berry! :( I was in a rush to post initiative before work and I didn't do a proper head count.

Maybe they went back to the bar for a drink after the "meat tree" incident
Honestly, Cherry could probably use a drink after that.

Hey y'all.
A big part of why my posting has been spotty is that my laptop no longer charges. I primarily post on my break at work from my laptop; I am usually busy with my few outsode-work hours, and posting via phone is very difficult. (Nevermind trying to move tokens on maps!) My posting will continue to be spotty until I can sort out a fix for my laptop. Feel free to bot me as needed to keep things moving. Thanks in advance for your patience.

GM Kwinten |

Thanks for letting me know about your situation, and I hope you find a solution soon!

GM Kwinten |

Fascinated is an interesting condition, because it's so vague. How I usually rule it is that it's sort of a "dazed-light." You skip your turn, but others can snap you out of it by spending at least one action to wake you up. There's loads of posts about what that entails, but I rule it as an attack or action that involves at least the fascinated target (attacking them, kicking or slapping them to wake them up, and so on). It's a strong effect, especially for a second-level spell, but the sustain makes it somewhat balanced, as does the fact that once attacked, you snap out of it as well, so you can't stun-lock someone with it.
My reading is stronger than the official one (basically, minor penalties to skill checks and can't cast spells, but that wasn't this creature's game plan anyway), but I think a more fun/fair one.
What do you think?

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

The actual effects are fine I think, though yours is a bit better obviously. Though it's a 3rd Rank spell, not that that makes much difference.
The biggest restriction on the "This condition ends if a creature uses hostile actions against you or any of your allies."
It makes sense but means unless your whole party also essentially skips (or delays) it basically ends immediately. Next time I'll try to delay until last specifically if that helps.

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |

Still waiting on a power supply, so my posts will continue to be spotty for awhile. It might be the beginning of April when it gets in :(
But it had been too long since I posted and I had some free time this morning. Those flybabies are heckin gross! XD

GM Kwinten |

Oh, you missed how I traumatised Kvit and Sneakers with one of the flybabies a few levels ago. I still grin when I think of that. :)

Cherry Berry |

Sorry, my depression has been kicking my ass last week. I managed to partially break a loop on Thursday, and I was catching up on other things. Hoping I don't end up back in it today.

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |

I definitely know the feeling. I also hope you don't end up back in it, it's a miserable place to be. Sending virtual hugs (consenting hugs, of course; non-consensual hugs generally only make things worse).
As an update, still waiting on the power supply for the laptop. The most frustrating part is, I don't even know if that's the problem, or if it's the battery. I assume it's not the battery, since it won't work even while plugged in, but that doesn't guarantee the power supply is the problem. I have to wait a week just to test it. BOO. In the meantime, feel free to continue botting me as needed (though I'll drop a post momentarily, since I have some free time).

GM Kwinten |

Hooray for progress! Take your time, you don't beat it all at once. It's a marathon, not a race.
---
My old laptop got a lazy battery after being plugged in nearly constantly. It wouldn't even function anymore unless it was on its charging cable. This sounds like something else, though.

Sadly, Kka is right regarding attacking a grappling creature. I'm not sure how game-breaking it would be to allow you to attack the space around Fuìn. I don't wanna flat-out say no, but I also don't want to okay it out of hand.
EDIT: Luckily, the rules have us covered.
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2359&Redirected=1
Sometimes part of a creature extends beyond its space, such as if a giant octopus is grabbing you with its tentacles. In that case, the GM will usually allow attacking the extended portion, even if you can't reach the main creature.

Managed to get a post up!
Soooo I finally got my power supply, and realized it was the wrong kind. Power output was too low, and even if it had been the right size, it came with a bunch of port adapters (seriously, almost two dozen different kinds) and NONE of them matched my laptop's plugin. So that was $35 wasted.
I don't know what to do, now. Heck, I don't even know if it is the power supply. Could be the port is screwed up and won't work with any power supply. I don't know. I barely know anything about software, hardware is completely beyond me. I'm starting to get very frustrated, because if I can't fix my laptop, I'm basically screwed. I have no backup.
If anyone here is tech-savvy and could give me some ideas to try, that would be fantastic. I don't want to toss a $1200 laptop that's less than 3 years old.

Kvit the Ruin Delver |

What's the model and specs of the laptop?
Seems odd, but I've had luck finding old parts on ebay (if you want to try and find another replacement powersupply).

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

I unfortunately don't know the specs off the top of my head. I can't look them up on the laptop because it's now dead. Best I can do is give you the specs on the power supply (100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 2.34A Input; 20.0V - 9.0A 180.0W Output).
I have a coworker with a couple old laptop power supplies for me to try; just waiting for him to remember to bring them in. :P
If the power supply thing doesn't work, I also have a friend who's willing to try and get me an old laptop on the cheap so I can at least have a functioning laptop to use on my breaks (which is basically the only window I have to regularly post) and I can finally get back on track with my pbp games. I don't know how long that will take but I hope it doesn't take too long because I'm going a little stir crazy not being able to post like I want to.

Hey y'all! Another quick update before I pass out.
Turns out I am an obliviot. That is a portmanteau of oblivious and idiot, because I am both, and I like portmanteaus.
The problem with my power supply was literally right in front of my face. My beloved hellion of a puppy chewed the power cord when I wasn't looking, and then the velcro strap that holds the cords bound together slid down over the chewed spot. Had I done my due diligence and checked the cords first, I probably would have found it MUCH sooner.
Anyway, I have a new power supply on the way (and the right wattage this time!) so I should have my laptop back up and running by Wednesday. In the meantime, I'll try to get a post or two in this weekend.

GM Kwinten |

Hooray! Glad it all worked out. I know absolutely nothing about tech, so I kept out of the conversation, but happy to hear it's (pretty much) solved.
Also, good job on killing the behemoth! It was pretty much already half dead before it could lay a finger on you, so it died pretty quickly. The stupid number of crits also did help. Even with my low damage rolls, I did squeeze Fuìn pretty hard, imagine if I could do that one more round. :P

Kka Magwi |

Shoot! Sorry about that. I missed the fact that Kka was up or I would have posted something.
Then again, maybe I'm not so sorry after all, given the GM's roll. :)

People might have noticed my posts have slowed down lately. I found a job at the start of the year and it's eating away at my free time. I now also recognise how fast my earlier pace was for people who might not be able to check the forums daily, for which I apologise.
The days I'm busiest at are Mondays, Wednesdays, and some Fridays. Expect more posts on the other days.

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |

I want to apologize for my late return. I was hoping to jump back into things as soon as my power supply showed up, and it even showed up a day early, but life, as it is wont to do, kicked me in the face. Hopefully it's behind me for now and I can finally get back to posting regularly again.

Can I assume that with the Climb speed, Kka does not need to roll an Athletics check and that she will not be off-guard while climbing? What's the story with her weapons? Does she have to put them away to do the climb and then pull them out again when she gets to the top of the shelves? Is there a top to the shelves that she can stand on, or will she be left hanging from the shelves? If the latter, can she free one or two hands to slash at the worm with a shortsword(s)?
Wormhole!

Gecko Grip was Spider Climb
Clawed Bracers was Slippers of Spider Climbing
I know how I'd rule it!...

GM,
Unsure if that is Lough's whole round or what...
...Here is his Ancestry feat: Called
Obligatory: Sorry Kka! Wanna save my last Hero Point but I probably should have used it...

GM Kwinten |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

The Called bonus would certainly apply, but that does not make it enough to turn your fail into a success. Since there is no real way to attack Kka with your last action, I'd say raising your shield is a viable option.
Also, I'm not sure how persistent damage works on a save. I've seen Foundry do half persistent damage on a success, so that means Acid Grip would still do half of 1d6 each round to Fuìn until he gets rid of it. Do people agree with that?

Kka Magwi |

Okay. I see now that Fuìn sucked away 9 of Kka's damage with Protector's Sacrifice leaving only 5 to get through, which when added to the 13 she was down, brings it up to the listed 18. Thanks for that.
So she's now at 48/66. Will tweak turn verbiage accordingly, probably before you even see my post.

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |

According to AoN, on a successful save the creature takes half damage and no persistent damage.

Drosil "Fuìn" Arimsyn |

No problem. I overlook stuff reading all the time, and I think it's getting worse as I get older. As a writer, that's... not great. :\

GM Kwinten |

Sneakers bites some sense into Lough - he turns around and grabs the thing’s leg and breaks it!
Why would you break poor Sneakers's leg? :P

GM Kwinten |

Officially, the worm is Air Walking, so a trip wouldn't knock him down, but I'd allow it.

Lough Wishlist:
Resilient Scale Mail (on the list)

The wishlists are on page 2 of the Abomination Vaults Loot spreadsheet. I added the armor and rune to Lough's list.
I'll move the armor from the sell list to the keep list.
Do you want the minor or lesser Reinforcing Rune? The more the merrier I expect.

Are we fully swithcing over to remasterd now? The change to Leshy lore gives Cherry another skill to Master.
Cherry is becoming an Expert in Divine Spell attacks and DCs.
Cherry is getting level 4 spells:
Fly x 2 (Air Walk if we are allowed Legacy Spells) (Not necessary if Flier's don't lose an action to keep flying)
Skill:
Cherry Masters Diplomacy
General Feat:
Toughness
(I was thinking about getting Shield Block and wish-listing a Spellguard Shield.)
