What You Should Know About Me
My real name is John, but I'll answer to almost anything, so long as its close. I normally check daily and try to update at least every two days (excepting weekends). I don't promise to hold to that, but I will try.
What you should know is that my wife is 90% blind and I am her eyes. I do all the driving, as well as help her with emails and such (reading them and sending them out). In addition, both of us work for a major convention (she is the Director, and I am the Gaming Director), so sometimes my life gets a little hectic. We also attend a lot of local cons to us.
What I Expect from You

I also need to know if everyone can do Roll20 for maps. It's my preferred system, but if necessary, I will use Google Docs. If you can use Roll 20, please tell me your Roll20 identity, so that I can set up the characters.

Grand junction information
Please feel free to use these details in your backstories, character discussions, etc. The more real the feel, the better. I will, however, be making up certain personalities with whom you will be working or meeting on a semi-regular basis. Folks from Grand Junction, please pardon me if I retool your favorite reporter, civic official, etc.

Roll 20 is fine.
I'm Jeremy C.

*Mutters about unsuitability of avatar image options.*
And here is the created avatar for Ghost. Of course, just the word "Ghost" is taken, so I had to include the full name, even though he has a secret identity.
I was surprised Electron was taken, but it was.

Careful observers will note that there is no year given on my dateline. The reason for that is so that I can run without worrying about real-world events invalidating the game (or vice-versa). If you need to reference a time frame, then just assume that it takes place this year or in the next year or so.

I was thinking more about the reason why it's falling. If a 747 loses all four engines at 30,000 feet, they can still glide about 90 miles. Even at 10,000 feet they could still easily miss the city and find a highway to land on.
That's the big problem with superhero games.

Project M.I.N.O.T.A.R |

A LOT of variables when flying a plane however. Just how good are the pilots? How heavy is the plane? Is it full of fuel (which makes it heavier and more dangerous) and nearly empty (lighter and safer) but no fuel means no flying either. Fire in the engine? Bird strike? Too much ice on the wings? There are literally hundreds if not thousands of different ways planes can crash. Keeping them flying is the amazing part really.

IRL I bet high pressure water smashing into spinning jet turbines means they go off-balance and then go flying to pieces, bits going through the fuselage. But Nick doesn't know that. :)

Fuel can be dumped. Losing fuel means no power to the engines, but doesn't affect their ability to glide. Ice will do this, but it's more due to ice preventing the flaps and other controls from moving.
If nothing breaches the hull, deforms the wings, or locks up the control surfaces, they can glide all the way down.

Also...Air is thinner the higher you go. Less lift. Colorado is one of the highest states in America. Thinner air, less lift, less 'gliding.' The 747 are also called Jumbo Jets for a reason. They don't glide well. Its kinda like flying a big aerodynamic Brick with wings.
Also...if the wind is hitting them from behind, they can go faster, but also get less lift. Conversely, headwinds will slow an aircraft, but also provide more lift. That's why Aircraft Carriers turn into the wind to help the planes gain more lift on takeoff.
Lots of Variables upon Variables...

Well, you're not the Idol of Millions yet, so why not go for it?

He's definitely tried it. For a regular thing his background could go either way. Nick's a fitness nut ("Dude, that's my lung capacity!") and a laid-back hippie kid.

While in DCUO the rocket assisted glide movement ability in Acrobatics is arguably the fastest movement mode in that game (if used right)... 15 power points does NOT go very far when building a suit of power armor. Most of the points went towards the armor its self, not the flight capabilities.

Isikos |

I would build rocket gliding as an alternate power to maximize the point spent on it.
Rockets would have limited: straight line only. I could also see concentration or distracting. Both to really ratchet up the speed.
Once you've rocketed up to get some altitude, then you switch to the alternate power. Flight with the glide limitation. Here you have mobility, but can't climb.
If you post your build, I can help you tweak it.

Miss Meow |

That sounds a bit like what the MMO does. Acrobatics characters can Glide by default, but it's basically just slow controlled falling. But if they invest a skill point into it, they gain the ability to activate Rocket Glide. This allows sustained flight with decent mobility (not as good as the actual Flight movement power though) and the inability to hover. At it's base, it's slower then both Flight and Super Speed. But by preforming short climbs and dives, one can end up moving faster then flight in it's accelerated movement mode, but slightly slower then Super Speed's accelerated movement mode. Except unlike Super Speed you can go over buildings in a strait line instead of going around them or running up the sides, so it's actually a little faster.
Also, noticed just now that when using my combat armor the +2 Strength was bumping my unarmed combat up 2 points over power level limit. Fix? Drop Unarmed Combat (martial arts) skill by 2 points. She IS only 10 years old. Still very very good for someone her age.
I can tweak the stuff in the future since it's part of a Variable power. But right now the settings are fixed. And the explanation for why most of her gear fro DCUO isn't listed... it's been destroyed, and she doesn't have the resources to replace them yet.
Here's what my finalized build looks like.

Complications
Obsession: Justice: Perhaps it's having the mindset of Batman forced into her young brain. Perhaps it's the fact that her parents are dead, leaving Kate an orphan. Who knows really. What matters is that she can easily lose herself in the hunt for Vengence, or maybe Justice. Even she's unclear. So long as there's a crime going on somewhere, Kate has trouple taking care of herself. SHe'll drive herself into exhaustion and beyond to fight crime, skip meals because it takes too much time out of her eternal hunt. Well, maybe not tuna. Nothing is more important then eating tuna.
Obsession: Tuna: Kate Naowth loves tuna. Although that is putting it mildly. When she smells that most delectable of fish, she loses all control. It's worse then catnip to her. She'll go through anything, maul anyone, all to reach and consume tuna. This can be a problem.

I read this, and get an image of The Flying Nun.
EDIT: Aaaand, my age is showing

Miss Meow |

Holy floundering tuna, Batman! Just realized how much Miss Meow can carry, and it's a lot for a 4 foot 5, 90 pound ten year old. On her own, she can carry 400 lbs. And in her Crisis armor, that jumps up to 1600 lbs. No wonder she can lift such heavy items in DCUO. I mainly do group content in her "crisis armor" costume, and many of those involve lifting things which should be incredibly heavy. If this is her damaged crisis armor, how strong is she when it's in full repair?

Miss Meow |

As a reminder, THIS is what Miss Meow's crisis armor looks like.
Other then her tail, it's not immediately obvious she's a nekojin. I'll admit, that particular helmet skin does look decently feline IMO, which is why I use it. But it is Batman inspired. Mostly because it's from the Dark Spectre Batsuit T2 iconic armor. I am proud of how the outfit looks though.
