Yeah. And for some reason I read the current actions as Styv and Marc being up, instead of everyone else (and not Styv and Marc). Whoopsy. Also trying to milk a few cookouts since Summer seems pretty stubborn about giving up the ghost this year.

Also, Talavuc is ready to heal whoever is injured with her wand of cure light wounds. It heals 1d8+1 points of damage, so feel free to describe her tending to your injuries and roll for healing yourself.
Knowing that the Winter Portal is right around the corner she will want everyone to be at their strongest.

Before I write my move-out post, did the shadow hound issue get resolved? Did I miss a post?
cheers

Congratulations! You're only a little over a thousand feet away from the winter portal. You've come a hell of a long way to get here, but the end of your mission and the beginning of a much longer journey is right around the corner.
The region you're in (I'll have some maps uploaded when I get home) is a ridge along the outer rim of a bowl-shaped valley, from the center of the bowl grows the Forest Elder, a 450' tall darkwood tree. Near the southern side of the tree's base the winter portal glows like an icy wound on the land, spewing arctic wind up into the sky from the heart of an ancient Azlanti ruin.
If you decide to head down to the portal you'll be on a steep slope of windblown rocks and hardly any collected snow. The deeper into the valley you go the calmer the winds will become and the deeper the snow will get. From the ridge ranged attacks are impossible due to the powerful wind, but the wind will become weaker the further you go.
Visibility is reduced to about 20 feet due to the whiteout conditions and everyone on the edge of the valley all the way to the center benefits from concealment allowing you to make stealth checks without cover.

- HP 25/25
- AC 20( T: 12/ FF:16)
- Fort + 4|Ref + 2|Will + 2
- Init + 2
- Perception +1
This game keeps me on the edge of my seat, and it's a pleasure to be apart of. Thanks all!
As to Styv's orders, I'm thinking we'll descend into the valley to get a closer look at the portal. Admittedly I'm still not sure what we are going to do to actually stop the portal, but I guess we'll figure it out. I mean, when all you have is a shield...
Any opinions to what our course of action should be guys?
I'll get a post up after work (roughly 1 am EST)or around noon tomorrow.

slow decline, not steep, is preferable to avoid deceleration trauma.
*And I agree about this game. I measure all PbPs to this one. It's awesome, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

We all have ski's if we want to try something bold and daring.
As actually dealing with the portal, Ar'Zarrcal, Teladon, and Fenyx might be able to come up with something once we get a closer look at the portal. It may be that it was created using similar Azlanti obelisks. We may be able to diffuse or destroy them or we may need to go through to the otherside first. I suspect we can't tell much from here.

CHARGE FORTH, TO THE PORTAL!
Get to the portal, clear out anything guarding it, then we figure out how to close the damn thing. Thats my suggestion.
I agree with Styv and Ordrud - this is definitely the campaign I measure other campaigns off of, and try to emulate with its awesomeness.

Good news for you Rob :) Did you ever finish your Inevitable thing? I'd be interested to read it.
It's sitting almost complete. I got the fiction piece from Todd Stewart (which is brilliant!) but our cover artist, Carolina Eade, is dealing with the loss of her mother to cancer and had to postpone finishing the cover. However, she's still working on it like some kind of unbelievable paragon of artly virtues, so once that's finished it's pretty much ready to go. There's some licensing things that still need to be sorted out, but it's basically done.

Delivering some good news: I was officially tapped to do some work on an upcoming Paizo Adventure Path, The Mummy's Mask! It comes out next year, and while I can't talk too much about my involvement I figured I'd let you all know in case deadlines delay my posting here any. I'm pretty pumped! :)
Woo! Can't wait to see what part you get to write.
