I think everyone is a little bust right now from the looks of it.
Or busy. You know. If I could type.
Fenyx, Teladon, Ordrud, you guys alive? I've heard from Ar'Z so I know he's busy. The rest of you still breathing?

I think everyone's gaming time is being eaten up by My, Crusty's and Kagehiro's simultaneous recruitment threads.
Sin Mage (Gluttony) 3
Yeah. And for some reason I read the current actions as Styv and Marc being up, instead of everyone else (and not Styv and Marc). Whoopsy. Also trying to milk a few cookouts since Summer seems pretty stubborn about giving up the ghost this year.

Just an FYI, the forums now have a strikethrough tag.

I'm here, internet has been crap and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. =/ But I'll work up a post tonight assuming it stays strong.

Crusty, is Elemental: Fallen Enchantress - Legendary Heroes, an expansion for Fallen Enchantress? My friend has the base game and it was pretty cool. I am a fan of Stardock products as Galactic Civ 2 was very enjoyable.
Nice job on the Shadow Mastiff, guys! You handled that encounter well, despite being severely hampered by the fear effect.
Also, Talavuc is ready to heal whoever is injured with her wand of cure light wounds. It heals 1d8+1 points of damage, so feel free to describe her tending to your injuries and roll for healing yourself.
Knowing that the Winter Portal is right around the corner she will want everyone to be at their strongest.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
Robert, I rolled a 1d2 on my to hit for concealment check since I figured it was 50-50, but would you prefer if I rolled 1d100 for concealments regardless if it is 50-50 or not?
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
Did I just kill it? Dang it. I should have taken 10.
Why dice, why??!
1d2 and 1d100 basically amount to the same thing in terms of 50/50 miss chance. Though my friend who is a statistics professor would probably shout at me for saying that, I imagine.
Going to wait to give everyone plenty of time to discuss the fate of the Mastiff and determine a plan of action before I move us ahead.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
Could the mastiff be dragged on a make shift sled made from ski's easily or would that be too difficult?
I'm fine with killing the beast if that is what the party decides.
In this terrain it would not be easy on an improvised sled. A 300lb mastiff might be within Ordrud or Rasso's carrying capacity, however. I'm not entirely sure, however.

No way I'm carrying that thing.

Looks like its supper time. ;p
Male Chelish Human Fighter 1/Gunslinger 2/Guardian 1
I'm not eating that thing. Who knows what kind of disgusting plane its been through :P
But I'm all for killing it.
An FYI, group XP is at 4,873. You're almost level 3.
Woo!
Almost lvl 3, and a natural 20!

Before I write my move-out post, did the shadow hound issue get resolved? Did I miss a post?
cheers
It's still alive and its fate up in the air.
Though it is bound at the moment.
Congratulations! You're only a little over a thousand feet away from the winter portal. You've come a hell of a long way to get here, but the end of your mission and the beginning of a much longer journey is right around the corner.
The region you're in (I'll have some maps uploaded when I get home) is a ridge along the outer rim of a bowl-shaped valley, from the center of the bowl grows the Forest Elder, a 450' tall darkwood tree. Near the southern side of the tree's base the winter portal glows like an icy wound on the land, spewing arctic wind up into the sky from the heart of an ancient Azlanti ruin.
If you decide to head down to the portal you'll be on a steep slope of windblown rocks and hardly any collected snow. The deeper into the valley you go the calmer the winds will become and the deeper the snow will get. From the ridge ranged attacks are impossible due to the powerful wind, but the wind will become weaker the further you go.
Visibility is reduced to about 20 feet due to the whiteout conditions and everyone on the edge of the valley all the way to the center benefits from concealment allowing you to make stealth checks without cover.
Stats
This game keeps me on the edge of my seat, and it's a pleasure to be apart of. Thanks all!
As to Styv's orders, I'm thinking we'll descend into the valley to get a closer look at the portal. Admittedly I'm still not sure what we are going to do to actually stop the portal, but I guess we'll figure it out. I mean, when all you have is a shield...
Any opinions to what our course of action should be guys?
I'll get a post up after work (roughly 1 am EST)or around noon tomorrow.
Half-orc Eldritch Viking | HP: 24/31 | HD 3/3 | Relentless 1/1 | Wind 1/1 | Surge 1/1| 1st 1/2 Inspiration! | Active: Prestidigitation
slow decline, not steep, is preferable to avoid deceleration trauma.
*And I agree about this game. I measure all PbPs to this one. It's awesome, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
We all have ski's if we want to try something bold and daring.
As actually dealing with the portal, Ar'Zarrcal, Teladon, and Fenyx might be able to come up with something once we get a closer look at the portal. It may be that it was created using similar Azlanti obelisks. We may be able to diffuse or destroy them or we may need to go through to the otherside first. I suspect we can't tell much from here.
Male Chelish Human Fighter 1/Gunslinger 2/Guardian 1
CHARGE FORTH, TO THE PORTAL!
Get to the portal, clear out anything guarding it, then we figure out how to close the damn thing. Thats my suggestion.
I agree with Styv and Ordrud - this is definitely the campaign I measure other campaigns off of, and try to emulate with its awesomeness.

Damn you 3rd level, when oh when will you arrive?
Heh, you guys would've hit third had you not followed Shor through the gloom (or alternately not gone around the doll's hut.)
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
Which means that going through the gloom had us avoid something that was (most likely) more dangerous then the shadow mastiff.
Two encounters, actually. One against some undead and another against a pair of feral minks.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
Dang. The undead could have been useful.
Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1
I liked the Ordrud point of view post. I've been thinking about doing something similar with Ar'Zarrcal, but I think I am going to save it for a while, especially considering the recent animosity that is developing between Styvanus and him.
I liked it too, it was a refreshing moment of clarity in the moment to breathe the group has before the final push to the portal.

Delivering some good news: I was officially tapped to do some work on an upcoming Paizo Adventure Path, The Mummy's Mask! It comes out next year, and while I can't talk too much about my involvement I figured I'd let you all know in case deadlines delay my posting here any. I'm pretty pumped! :)

Good news for you Rob :) Did you ever finish your Inevitable thing? I'd be interested to read it.

Rasso wrote: Good news for you Rob :) Did you ever finish your Inevitable thing? I'd be interested to read it. It's sitting almost complete. I got the fiction piece from Todd Stewart (which is brilliant!) but our cover artist, Carolina Eade, is dealing with the loss of her mother to cancer and had to postpone finishing the cover. However, she's still working on it like some kind of unbelievable paragon of artly virtues, so once that's finished it's pretty much ready to go. There's some licensing things that still need to be sorted out, but it's basically done.

That is ultra-mega-super awesome. I was thinking about cutting my AP subscription, but I'll have to renege on that plan.

Very nice Robert. I look forward to seeing what the future brings.
