Styvanus Rozier was born in lower-east Almas, to working class Ulfen Immigrants, Kjell and Eva Rozier. They owned a small blacksmith shop where Kjell specialized in armor and shield making; Eva ran the storefront and worked as a barmaiden when it was needed to make end's-meet. Styvanus was practically raised inside of the shop and as such grew up assisting his father. Despite an easy path towards a life of smithing, Styvanus didn't have a passion for the trade and his time there contributed only to his strength, of both body and character. Kjell instilled within his son a sense of honor, a healthy work ethic, and they often discussed history and philosophies of liberty, inspiring Stylvanus to become an adamant proponent of freedom for all, and thus an Andoran patriot.
Kjell held a bit of renown for shield making; constructing shields with the sturdiness of dwarven-craft and balance to rival a star-knife. A method he used to test, and sometimes sell this balance, was to knock the helmet off of a wooden dummy 30 feet away. This was usually quite the sale technique and Sylvanus took to it by the time he was twelve, showing skill that rivaled his father's practiced proficiency. Impressed by the young boy, and sensing that his buyers would be too, Kjell further trained this unusual talent and at every opportunity, used Sytvanus as a bit of a store mascot, showcasing his skill and the superior balance of the shields.
With things continuing to get bad abroad, Styvanus came of age, and was quick to sign on with the Andoran military. He completed his training and gave hope to a few of his instructors, who were impressed by the young man's work ethic and determination, and more-so his undeniable sense of hope; this was something that even the idealists of Andoran were running short on at the time. Styvanus also attracted a bit of attention for the fact of his unusual fighting style of choice, utilizing one of his father's shields as his primary weapon.
Sytvanus is a quiet optimist, even with the world in such a dire state. This optimism is largely rooted in his unwavering sense of Andoran patriotism. He believes it's the greatest nation in all of Golarion and is confident that his nation is the hope for a New Free World through all the hardships that it faces now. He is a very dedicated friend, and has a set group of ideals. He is strictly opposed to any form of oppression. He will not risk an ally lightly, and would die before a single innocent victim is harmed. Despite his patriotism, he holds no extreme animosity towards members of other nations, but is quick to state his opinion on things that he disagrees with. He is competent, but never boastful.
