My apologies, Thanks Lucent!

Both the static map and icon maps will always be in the campaign info tab for future reference :)

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1

I think some may have been a little premature in attacking. Only one of our traps was effectively sprung and our enemy is spread far out with dangerous missile weapons. Though the darkness should give some of us some concealment defense.

EDIT PS @Lucent

When you post could identify the light sources when you summary? Maybe the map doctors can give you some templates to move around like the icons. Thanks

Yea that was my fault as well. I saw Ordrud's post and thought *well shoot.. if the Orc attacks then theres no other option since they know its a trap now.* Not sure what else we could have done however.

Female Human (erutaki) Druid (arctic) 3 / Guardian/Hierophant 1

Mmmmm... Not entirely certain about it. Those coming from the north might've had a decent shot at those in camp. After tripping perimeter traps, they might've just started shooting.

In looking back at things while I have a moment, I'm worried we may have our first casualty of attrition. Marcellano hasn't posted in a week on any of his aliases or his main account.

Hrm...

Okay, post is up! Sorry it took so long, I've had a busy last couple of days and didn't want to rush something out and sacrifice quality :)

Also, for reference as I'm looking at everyone's actions:

When you're moving in difficult terrain (where it costs more movement to get through) you can't take a 5-foot step as a free action, or charge (unless you have some special ability that says otherwise). Even with snowshoes, you still have some movement penalty in deep snow. Thankfully none of that really mattered this round so I mostly let it slide. From here on out keep it in mind, I'll be adjusting accordingly if I see it.

____

Related to the combat, the two survivors of the REVERSE AMBUSH are terrified and looking to surrender immediately.

I cannot wait to see how this goes.

I'll wait to post the raging Ordrud's round 2 action until after everyone except Rasso, because that's where he is in the initiative.

If it's unclear what to expect, please remember that he is a teenage, raging barbarian who was hunted by these guys for a week to starvation. Plus, these guys will be blamed for killing his former teammates.

Cheers

What does "it's okay if he thinks he will" mean Styv? It's okay to let him think we will kill them, or it's okay to let him kill one? Or what?

Think he means it's okay to let the guy continue thinking he's going to die.

Fenyx is going to go ahead and fire off his Ray of Enfeeblement despite the surrender. It isn't anything lethal, but it will weaken him enough to make his resistance to any attempt to subdue unlikely (probably moot either way, I doubt he intends on fighting back regardless of what we decide). At this point it is probably just more of a reminder of how screwed the hunter really is.

@Styv: No, since we're above the size of a normal party anyway I won't be headhunting for anyone new unless we drop below four/five, depending on party dynamic. I'll continue to NPC Marc' for a while until I can find a reasonable place for him to exit.

@Lucent: Sounds good on keeping the players that we have. If you ever do decide you need a replacement, I just want you to know that the players I have in my Way of the Wicked are great writers and I would recommend any of them to step up.

@Everyone: I'll make a post with my characters thoughts in abit, but here's what I think. We have a few survivors. The first one who talks and tells us who Thuldrin is, what they know about the area, their base of operations and anything dealing with this unnatural storm gets to live. The others we push into the pits and bury with snow. As for the one that talked, we strip down to his small clothes and tell him to start running. Let the elements decide if he lives or dies.

I'm in one, but we're still in Branderscar. Dunno if we're gonna make it out alive yet.

I never seemed to notice a recruitment for one in time and/or, alternately, one with a GM who looked good/didn't seem likely to flake out and disappear.

Male Grey Elf (Fey) Magus 3/Champion/Archmage 1 AC 16/12/14/ HP 30/30 / F +5 R +3 W +3 (+9 vs cold weather) / Init. +2 / Perc. +9 / Mythic 3/5)

*nod* I felt the same way. That was why I decided to run my own. It's been a great experiance and given me a lot of respect for the GM's who run multiple games on the board. I think that a strong opening in the recruitment thread is something that can really make a strong campain over all. It was one of the things that drew me to Lucent's campaign.

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forge-Master) / 3 Mythic Guardian 1

The whole reason I joined these boards was to play Way of the Wicked.

I tried a few times to get into various different ones. I only just recently got into one, with the variant that it is focused on Urgathoa rather than Asmodeus. My character has a rather pathetic backstory where his hopes and dreams were constantly crushed and years of ridicule and rejection have led him down a path of misanthropy.
It's only just started (we got out of our cell) but it is very enjoyable thus far. The other players are all good and the GM has made it interesting with his own touches and description thus far.

As far as this game - Ar'Zarrcal intends to take H7 Prisoner. Whether he lives or not will depend on the information he provides and the rest of the parties disposition.

Lucent - do any of the dead have snow shoes?

Hey everyone, I want to apologize for my absense. Some real life crap came up and I was unable to get online for the past week. :(

I'm really sorry for not being online or even being able to let you guys know I'd be gone (I didn't even know I'd be gone), and not having a smartphone or something that could let me post.. really really sucks.

I haven't read through what I've missed, and I hope I haven't been booted due to my absense.. but if I have, well then thats that, though I'll be sticking around to watch if thats the case. Going to get caught up now.

Ar'Z: All of the hunters are wearing snow shoes, padded armor and cold weather gear clearly visible. Other gear varies and will be outlined after the group has searched the dead.

MARCY!

Haha so glad you're back! I had just resigned myself to the fact that you might be gone for good and was deciding what to do. So far Marc has just helped with a b##!*in' ambush and blew a guy's jaw off with his musket.

Sorry life gave you two fistfuls of crap, I totally sympathize. I'm just glad to see you back :)

@Teladon: If you ever run short of players for your WotW campaign let me know, I'm bubbling with caustic ideas.

OK. I posted for Ordrud, because I couldn't figure out who to wait for... and didn't want to unnecessarily postpone the game.

Way of the Wicked looks awesome. I failed to get into the couple of games that I've applied. I hope to play it some day.

I've no idea how anyone has the strength to GM. I've never had it. I tremendously respect all that do and savor the quality of the really good ones that I've been lucky to play with.

Too much time on my hands today, I threw together a concept for a Way of the Wicked character in the event that a rogue fireball takes out half of Teladon's party over that way.

Actually I almost quit the WotW game I was in due to incessant interparty conflict. Constant PC threatening the other PCs and insulting each other. I rage-posted killing another PCs eidolon and then we had a big discussion, retconned it, and I got everyone to agree OOC to stop threatening each other. Now it's decently enjoyable, if not rather slow moving.

Good to have you back Marcellano.

Ordrud, nice rolling there!

Unless that hunter is stupidly brave (emphasis on the stupid), I do believe we'll have two survivors to deal with.

I'm trying to determine how i want Styvanus to act regarding that.

They mentioned someone's orders, so clearly this was not the entirety of the group. It might be a good idea to let at least one go with at least his cold weather clothing. He'd likely lead us right back to his leader and the larger group. We'd take any other useful equipment of course, including the snowshoes, he'll make a more easily followable trail that way(we just don't want him to die of exposure before he serves his purpose).

*WOW* Lucent.. I ran through a lot of applications during my way of the wicked recruitment. What you wrote up is an amazing character and I am not just saying that. The interesting thing is, is that one of my personal character concepts I wrote up was actually a Nidalese shadow summons, whos own shadow was his Eidolon.

Hah! Great minds think alike.

I'm kinda missing being able to DM for Pathfinder... my RL group hasn't met for a few months now, and honestly I'm kinda sad we didn't get far enough in the Skulls and Shackles campaign. They just hit level 5 on our last session..

Almost makes me want to start a Skulls and Shackles PbP on here.. Theres just something fun about being the DM that being a player can't replicate, even if its also greatly fun being a player.

Well I have been pretty bored lately (not to mention the fact about not having internet for a week - that was hell).. so why not. Gonna need some time to modify the campaign, as pirates without firearms is a no no. My RL campaign had few firearms, and it was less fun, especially with the group's gunslinger going to town with his pistol.

Lemme know who's up for it, and I'll let you guys know when I get a campaign page set up for it. As a quick start, I'm planning on 20-point builds, average starting gold, 2 traits (one must be campaign), and make backgrounds with a similar style as with this campaign. Commonplace Firearms, though advanced firearms will not be for sale or craftable. Also I'd prefer you guys not pick any race with a swim speed.. makes some challenges far too easy :P Classes and archetypes that do it is fine, however.

If everyone here wants to join me on that (all 8 people including Lucent), I can work with that. Otherwise we'll see which one of you wants to join :P

I need something to pass my time anyways.. right now I only have my morning chores and exercise to do then I'm bored the rest of the day. Skyrim only helps so much.. being able to set this up and DM for it would be a nice addition to my boring day.

Edit: Also, woo! My adapter came in so I can finally use my headset. I can haz moosic!

Bah! I'm in two Skull and Shackles AP PbP's right now..

My first character Mumbata is Bonuwat Mwagani Witchdoctor who brews a pretty mean potion (A spear wielding Mwagani Viv/Beastmorph Alch).

My second character John Rawkins, is a former Andoran marine who lost his leg to a shark during the boarding of the Chelish privateer Carron Maw (A greatsword wielding Ranger with the Freebooter archetype)

Despite how good I suspect your AP would be I can't honestly join a third. I would be *very* tempted if it was a Carron Crown or Legacy of Sand. I have this character Ali Al'Zahrid who had a touch of jinn in his blood that I regret never getting to play.

I'm interested. Not completely settled on which concept rattling around in my noggin' is up to snuff for high seas shenanigans, though. My gut says dwarf, like always, but I'm getting my dwarfy fill in a RL Dungeon World game currently. I've had a Kyton/Dwarf Tiefling idea I've wanted to push for a while, but not completely sold on it. Yeah I could understand joining a 3rd campaign of the exact same one might be a bit of a hassle XD

As for the characters, nice!

My RL group is less roleplay-y than anyone here, although they're not wholly built for power-gaming. They consist of:

  • Hobgoblin Pistolero Gunslinger
  • Undine Rogue
  • Ifrit Seeker Oracle of Life (Played by the same guy as the rogue)
  • Human Fighter who favores a heavy flail and often fighting naked (And I don't mean unarmored, I mean stark naked) for s~@*s n giggles. Loves to punch people too (Improved Unarmed Strike)
  • Dwarf Witch w/ Octopus familiar, peg leg, 5 charisma, and a permanent 10-ft beard which he uses for attacks. Cackles a lot.
  • Half-Elf Summoner with Bipedal Eidolon

Its.. a colorful group. Most of them are of evil alignment, but are not complete a*%*%#+s to everyone. Just anyone who pisses them off.
