Ok, this mausoleum is much bigger than I was thinking; I thought it was a building, but this is a complex - with at least 2 levels, unless the above-ground bit is entirely fake (remember, the stairs took us below it...). Also, as I mention IC, this place has to be (a lot) older than the family - Sandpoint would have records of something this size being dug out...
I don't know we are in any position to sweep it in one pass. I think this should be a scouting expedition - get a map of this level and some idea of what we are dealing with, no wholesale looting (ie. no forcing sarcophagi open {and disturbing the undead inside}),

Khamul Froghoth |

And Zarque thinks we shouldn't be opening sarcophagi at all, according to the in game chat...
I think we need to arrive at a plan... Current options on the table:
1) Scouting sweep, get some idea what we are dealing with and come back to crack the sarcophagi later.
2) Methodical - crack everything as we come to it. ie starting with these 6 sarcophagi right here.
3) What does Zarque have in mind?

Zarque |

Zarque is scout the complex and find any secret doors and other rooms. Quite confident that we will at worst need to check a single coffin and very possibly not even that. Zarque will need a really good reason to go cracking coffins, and greed is not a good reason, nor is Khamul's expectations.

@ShadowBloodmoon - What's your philosophy on perception checks and traps - I know I'm making a lot of checks here, but you keep on calling out features, eg this little holes with red staining. Do I have to search a specific feature, like these holes, or would they have been included in my earlier search of the statue&altar area?

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

I usually try to call for rolls when they are needed, to avoid having to roll multiple times, but some things can't be perceived until an action takes place, in this case, opening the door. The little holes are inside the statue, which you could not have seen without the door being open/ statue split apart. With your current Perception bonuses, there is little you will miss. There is a reason for the holes, but fr.. actually, I'll describe what they are in game.

Zarque |

I'm here. Busy, but here. There really hasn't been much progress and I haven't really figured out anything to move forward except to see how the current plans work out. Zarque is the sort to stand back and let others fail when she doesn't quite see the way forward.
Of course, I hadn't realized just how long it's been.

I had calculated out that you were jumping to reach the other side completely, not just grab the ledge, but either way, you're right, the point is moot. I was hoping this puzzle would be able to draw on all of your abilities, or at least be able to give insight. At the bare minimum use Aid Another to help figure it out.
I will reach out to them and see what's what.

Speaking of, Ninja'd by Idun. Something that may help keep us going and I try to emphasize this when I can:
Even if your character has nothing they feel they can actually do, feel free to dialogue with each other. Ask about your histories, go over some details of clues, things like that. It will help create team cohesiveness. You never know, it could add more to your quests...

Sileven |

Howdy!
I'm a previous player who had to drop out because real life got in the way. Right around 9 months ago.
My daughter and her two children live with us, with my wife as full-time grandma while mom works. My wife started a multi-week evaluation of her knees, and ended up having a knee replacement before the evaluation was supposed to have concluded. Suddenly, my evenings were completely filled with caring for the grandchildren after I got home for work.
Several things have happened in the intervening months, including us buying a bigger house and moving all 3 generations into it!
Thing is, I think things have stabilized enough that I can reasonably commit to getting back in a game or two.
DM ShadowBloodmoon said I should pop into the discussion thread and introduce myself, see if you guys are open to having me join you once you've concluded your current effort.
Sileven is a 2-weapon dex fighter. On a whim I went with the leafblade weapons, and then discovered that made him an opportunistic crit hunter. It really wasn't intentional. Dex fighters are notorious for doing less damage than the min-maxers think of as adequate. <shrug>
How I envision Sil is a pragmatic realist without all those magical or natural talents everyone expects elves to have. He's not angry or bitter. He just doesn't do the things everyone seems to expect him to be able to do. He does what he can. He tries to keep moving and keep breathing.

Welcome back Sil. While you are waiting, you may want to level yourself to 4. I will also try to fit something in for you in Gameplay after your visit to Aurica.

Sileven |

Welcome back Sil. While you are waiting, you may want to level yourself to 4.
Complete. Straight fighters are normally pretty easy to level up.
+9 HP (6 from D10, 2 from Con, 1 from Favored Class)
+1 to all the same skills, learning Orc in recognition of Drek'Thar
+1 BAB
+1 Fort
Quickdraw
Note: No change to the gear. All mundane off-the-shelf.
I need to remember the expectation was that the weapons will be Light Blade Weapon Group. I had to go back through the thread to find that discussion point, though.

Okay, I can't find a description of the chasm, we were passing the statue then there were pillars.
How many pillars? Is there a particular arrangement, or are they randomly placed in the chasm?
I found the note that the chasm goes down at least 30', but not much else until the thrones.

The pillars are shown on the map, slide 9.

I'm not sure if you saw Sil, but I put a spoiler in a post so I could get you started in the game.

All I have is a phone, and google slides is too big a problem to look at. It can take longer to show the first slide than to type a post, when it loads at all, and getting to later slides...
It usually doesn't matter, but that is why I occasionally ask questions that might normally be answered by the map.

Milah Ashkenazi |

Hello, all.
I want to apologize for taking an abrupt leave of absence from my campaigns, and for not giving you all the courtesy of letting you know it would happen. I realize that it doesn't make it better, but I did the same thing to both of the campaigns I had been in.
In any case, I am hoping to come back and get back to regular posting. I have spoken to DM SBM regarding my coming back, and he was okay with it - though he did express mild concerns with party size (7 people is a lot for PbP).
I don't want to cause tension in the campaign, however - if anyone doesn't want Milah back, feel free to let me or DM SBM know via PM and I can leave well enough alone with no hard feelings.
Thanks for your understanding.
- Milah

If you guys had split any of the treasure you got when you got back from Thistletop, then you would have that as well. I thought you did, but I can't find the thread at the moment. You would have plenty of time to purchase whatever you can find in Sandpoint.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Hope everyone had a great vacation, those who celebrate Thanksgiving. We had a very busy weekend, but I'm excited to get back to the game.

The Captivating Caprice! |

Ah, you're totally right Milah, I bet I assumed someone would have made the spellcraft roll and told us, but I suppose our party doesn't have that many spellfolk nor are we big on telling each other what's going on.
Go ahead and ignore my post then, everybody.

Milah Ashkenazi |

We know that Zarque's housing/posting situation is likely to be spotty. I think it's safe to say that nobody other than Zarque is really pushing for their plan, so I submit we should continue, assuming that the party has either talked her out of it or overruled her.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Happy Holidays Everyone! I know through the season into next year, posting will be spotty for most at best, even more so than usual, ;-), but no worries, we will still keep going into the next season!
