Making sure: Have we handled the Control rune? If not, Bear's bear...

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, "You a have scroll of entangle? Why didn't you list that amongst our assets? "

Tarinhilliberanavius |

You said poison would do them in, right, mini?

Unalaq |

Giant scorpion ought to do it. 50-50 chance each round. If you've got a way to be more certain, could try that.

Bear aka Orlog |

If everyone else is good with that plan I will summon one in. Burn Thorn Body.
Bear whispers some ancient words followed by a call to nature by the first rune...within a few seconds a scorpian, about 4 feet long appears next to it. He directs it to sting the statue...
Don't roll a 1 1d20 ⇒ 4 poison 1d2 ⇒ 2 One down!
Rush over to the next statue
Don't roll a 1 1d20 ⇒ 16 poison 1d2 ⇒ 1 fail
Again
Don't roll a 1 1d20 ⇒ 12 poison 1d2 ⇒ 2 two down!
Rush over to the last statue
Don't roll a 1 1d20 ⇒ 8 poison 1d2 ⇒ 2 three down!
Assumes I can do this in 8 rounds, not sure how far they are apart.

Unalaq |

Giant scorpion moves 50, not sure about Bear. I count 90 feet between the one in the southeast and the one in the southwest and 50 feet between the one in the southwest and the one to the west. So, assuming worst case Bear movement of 30. Round 1: Scorpion appears, knocks out rune to the southeast, moves 30/90 feet. Round 2: Double move, moves to 90/90 feet. Round 3: Scorpion tries to sting and fails. Round 4: Scorpion tries to sting and succeeds. Round 5: Double move to the last rune. Round 6: Scorpion stings rune and succeeds. Should make it with 2 rounds to spare.

Unalaq |

Mini, is that 6 rounds after right after the initial Dex damage or 6 rounds after all of the runes? Will make a difference as to whether he is able to get them all before the scorpion disappears.

Darin the Cheerful |

Can they make Craft (Caterer) or (Hotel Management) checks instead?

Tarinhilliberanavius |

I think those are Profession checks, Darin.

Darin the Cheerful |

Whoa whoa whoa, those are arts Tarin! Don't denegrate the great artists of cooking and hotel management by lowering them to a mere "profession"!

Unalaq |

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Thank goodness one of us can see and hear.

MiniGM |

Bear spots right in front of Unalaq a rune on the floor, definitely a trap.
Looking into the room
The walls of this wide atrium curve gently up to an opaque,
glassy dome. Tan light from an unseen source filters through
the dome, faintly illuminating the area. The room narrows to
the west, where a broad stone altar flanked by iron braziers
obstructs movement further in. An iron tile mosaic frames a
door-sized space on the east wall, with a three-foot-tall stone
pedestal bearing a shallow bowl standing next to it. Sickly
greenish-purple motes of light play across the walls, shining
from the room to the west.
More importantly a figure in robes completes a chant of some sort which anyone making a Spellcraft or Arcana 20 can identify as
The summoning of Krune is complete, you have only a matter or rounds before he arrives!!
Heroes win initiative!

Darin the Cheerful |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
That figure in the robes is summoning the Runelord!
Unalaq, are they evil?

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

what are the 1 and 2?

Fernus Stonecall |

Will wait for the others to post, Fernus might need to double move to a good position to do anything useful.

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

*cough* haste *cough*

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil flies into the room, Fernus' spell increasing the speed of his wingbeats, then spins and hurls an explosive bomb at the caster.
Bomb: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 for 5d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 6, 2) + 6 = 26 And on fire
Splash should hit the other one, 11 damage, DC 20 for half

Darin the Cheerful |

On the theory that the people are evil...
A reading from the Book of Blessings: "And then Cayden Cailean, the Lucky Drunk, in His Power as a deity of the right and true gods, smote the unbelievers who were causing trouble and keeping people from their ale, this being a grave crime in the sight of the Accidental God, whose First Precept, in His Mercy, holds "Never Get Between a Man and His Mug!" And his fury did descend and burn the unbelievers from the earth, that the Party could continue.
Darin will level his morningstar at the bad guys and cast Holy Smite.
Damage (Holy Smite): 5d8 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 7, 3) = 22 And they are blind unless they make a Will Save, DC 17; they also take half damage if they save.

Unalaq |

Mini, are we past the trap and if not, was Bear able to direct Unalaq around it?

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

Vinny begins to dash forward..
Trap Spotter: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
He assumes there is no trap and carries on through it, moving up quickly to his targets and with spear in hand, drives the weapon into the spell caster.
Power Attack & Combat Expertise: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 11 + 1 - 1 = 25
1d8 + 12 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + 12 + (4, 4, 2) = 23
AC: 26. Also, I have them both within range for AoO and get 6 a round.

MiniGM |

Vinny charges through the glyph and it explodes hitting Tarin, Bear, Unalaq and Vinny DC 17 for half The rune explodes in a gout of electricity dealing 4d8 ⇒ (3, 8, 5, 8) = 24
As Vinny moves up he steps on another rune which explodes in fire hitting only him 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Then he plunges his spear into the caster

Unalaq |

Um, Bear did warn us, but I guess that's the cost of a 1 Wis.
Reflex save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 17 damage taken due to energy resistance
Figuring the spellcaster is the bigger threat and not protected by one of those damnable blur effects, Unalaq takes a 5-foot step into the room and after praying to Tolc to lend his power, fires three arrows at the figure in robes.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 14 - 4 = 20
Damage 1: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Attack 2: 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 14 - 4 = 30
Damage 2: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Confirm Attack 2: 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 14 - 4 = 20
Extra Damage 2 if confirmed: 1d8 + 16 + 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 + (7) + 16 = 44
Attack 3: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 9 - 4 = 6
Damage 3: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20 Vinny ignores the explosion, not realizing the damage he did to his friends.
Yes, the 1 wisdom is exactly why I did that. Had he been clear headed, he would have drawn a potion and drank it, allowing him to fly...but...yeah. Mini, the second rune, is there a save on that one?
