Says Protection from Evil is Touch for me in the PRD?

Elorin |

Hmmm, you are right. Make a perception check, I have improved invisibility going. Would cast then deliver the spell with touch.
Touch attack from above invisible 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 14 you lose your dex bonus.

Darry Swiftfoot |

OW!
He muttered as he whistled for the creature to return. His hand aglow as he ran it through his hair he used the grace within to help heal the wounds given him from the man.
lay on hands swift action: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
fast mount ride dc 20: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
Is it obvious Vicente is ensorcelled somehow?

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28 Maybe? Maybe not...

Elorin |

Mini, the roll was for perception to see if he even noticed me flying and invisible.
He still has to attack and then there is the 50% miss chance, that's if he would even take an AOO. He is dominated and unless he was given a command to do so I don't think he would attack us in that manner.
Already rolled my touch attack per the above and it hit. He can't kill me in one shot and I didn't miss so I think we can drop out of rounds. He gets a second save at +2 morale bonus and even if he fails it will block the mental control for 10 minutes where we can tie him up and then let the dominate expire.

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
1d100 ⇒ 99 If high is good for the players, then I miss, yay!
1d8 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

Elorin |

Elorin kneels over Darin...This is my fault...I didn't recognize the danger I pose to the rest of you if I am magically enchanted. We must bring him back!
If we wait until tomorrow I can teleport a few of us to a major city to see if we can find a cleric capable if raising him from the dead.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil stops tearing at his face as the worms suddenly disappear. He looks around for the nasty beast for a moment, not noticing Darin's unmoving form, then throws back his extract of cure light wounds before flying down to the others, just in time to hear Elorin speak of resurrection. "Darin!", he shouts, anger filling his tiny mutated body, burning away and last remains of the magical confusion. Something shifts in his compound eyes, as if they begin to glow with an inner light, and he speaks in an inhuman, almost foreign tone as far from the gnome's cheery, mocking, upbeat voice as you have ever heard, "Make sure we go somewhere with a sage's guild or a library. I want to learn everything about that beast.. especially how to track and kill it."

Darin the Cheerful |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Darin's ghost stands over the scene, looking at his own body.
I blame you for this.
...
Yes, it is too your fault! I'm not even in the afterlife!
...
What do you mean you don't think I'd like it? It's the afterlife!
...
How many?
...
How long do you think it would take a ghost to dig up a diamond?
...
That long? Well, I guess I've got nothing better to do.
...
What do you mean you've got a farm boy that you need to direct around Golarion? Isn't that what you did to me?
...
No, I will not give him a brilliant energy sword from his dad, I don't even have arms.
...
Yes, I do think it is important to have arms when you're giving people things.
...
OK, fine. But if I come back as a hobgoblin we're going to have words.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil's head comes up, shocked out of his lamentation, "Phooka? I don't know. Maybe he could help.."
He then looks around, his voice much more like himself, "Who's the gryphon-rider? ... And what do you know about this Black Maga?"

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

Vinny drops his speartip, planting it into any ground her can and pauses for a moment, leaning his head against the rod.

MiniGM |

Phooka stayed back with the rangers, but you could send for him easily enough, I will assume that you send a raven or something. we don't need to RP it out. It will take a day or so, but he can fly so its faster
Its a legend. Well we thought it was a legend. We don't know why it attacked us here, but we don't know why there is a flood either. Maybe something riled it up, but it seems gone now.

Darry Swiftfoot |

Oh you good little knuckle head let a fellow up eh?
He began wrestling with his loyal mount and very best good friend. He took several long moments with him before he rose trying to shake off the pain of the crazy conflict that just happened. After that was done he made his way to the shore and torwards the others that had been battling the creature.
Hoi there friends. Battling a legend there eh? Well Met I am Sir Darry (Dare - E) Swiftfoot, traveling paladin of Iomedae and stalwart hero of wee folk everywhere... Well met!
He began tousing the large dogs head near his ears. The large dog woofed at them all sniffing the air and looking at each of them.
This here is Sebastion, loyal mount and traveling companion. He is pleased to meet you as well.
There was another woof from the large dog.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil looks warily at the newcomer, distrust clear in his mullti-faceted eyes until he hears the word paladin. He smiles, his twisted fangs making it a far less friendly-looking gesture than he intends, then sighs.
"Greetings. I am Tarinhilliberanavius. Most call me Tarinhil, and under the fangs, wings and scaly skin,as the name implies, I'm a gnome, originally from Brastlewark, but escaped Cheliax after helping the Bellflowers.".
The gnome's voice trails off, as if the introduction was somehow exceeding his endurance, then sighs and says sadly, "Apologies, but that sack of meat there, Darin, was our companion and friend, and Unalaq and I have lost a number of friends these last few months... I'm usually far more cheery."

Darin the Cheerful |

that sack of meat there, Darin
I can't get no respect, no respect at all.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

We'll dig through Darin's pockets for loose change -- then look at whatever sellable stuff we picked up fighting Ogres and the like... Not sure what the party's fiscal position is, to be honest.

Darin the Cheerful |

We'll dig through Darin's pockets for loose change
No respect I tell ya.

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

Vinny has the money for the raise and provides it to bring the cleric back, hoping to get some of it back from the dead party, but if not...

Darry Swiftfoot |

Was he a valiant man? It would strike me as so attacking such a foul beast to protect the city and Church. For my part I am sorry to have arrived so late. I had been traveling up this way to visit my Cousin, Bethandy and her husband and well... saw the trouble.
He knelt beside the fallen and gave a little prayer that whatever gods he held dear looked after his valiant soul.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil nods, "He was a good man... though a mite eccentric. "

MiniGM |

alright. Fast forward to the next day, there is a teleport a return on Phooka who is devastated.
He works on Darin and before long there is a stirring of the body
You stand before your god. OK kid. Im sending ya back, but this time, I think you need to have the true Cadin experience so I am sending ya back rip roaring drunk! Have fun, and boy are you gonna have a headache tomorrow!
Darin wakes up suddenly he staggers to his feet and...

Darin the Cheerful |

Promptly throws up.
Didsh anyone gets tha nhumbar ohn that horsh?

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, "We drove it off and saved the temple... But it's still out there... and I'd hate to see it come back."

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin groans as Elorin seems happy to see him.
Waisht - didn't yoush blasht me with a lighstning belt?
He sways a bit.
Lightning belt? That'sh nots righst.
Then he faints.

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

Vinnie shakes his head at his drunkard of a companion and looks to his fellow adventurers. "We...we can just wake him up this time...right?" Slightly concerned, having never witnessed anyone come back to life before.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil pauses and checks Darin, then straightens and nods, "Yes, he's still alive, and should wake normally. So we can kick him for scaring us."

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin will slowly come out of his stupor clutching his head.
Oh that damnable bastard. How could he do that to me?

Vincente Valentino Valdemar |

"You do it to yourself often enough...what's the difference," he says with a chuckle as he pulls out a waterskin and offers it to Darin. "Drink up...this might help..."

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin looks at the waterskin dubiously, but takes a swig, then spits it out.
No one ever told me death tastes like sherry.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil cocks his head, "Death has a taste?", he then looks at the water Darin spits out, I wonder if there's any lingering properties to that.... what I could make out of it.... He shakes himself, then looks back at the cleric, "I'd hope it's at least a good sherry?"

Darin the Cheerful |

Bastard's too cheap for that. If all that he serves is that cheap rotgut I'm in even less of a hurry to go back.
After that he'll roll to his feet and stand up.
Did we kill the mutant tree?

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil shakes his head, "No. We hurt it enough that it didn't want to smash the temple anymore, but it wandered off. We debated getting all noble and avenging your death, but only some of us liked you enough to vote yes."
He chuckles, clearly relieved that Darin is back, then says, "Actually, we were hoping to try to figure out what it was and how to kill it and avoid having a reprise of the it-killing-us thing."

Darin the Cheerful |

First rule, you guys stay near me and I cast Protection from Evil on you before we charge.
Darin pauses.
Actually that's a good rule of thumb. Especially for Sparky there.

Darin the Cheerful |

Darin was just dead, he's got no plan!

Elorin |

I am good either way.
how do we find it? Is been a day and it seems to travel via the river so it is difficult to track. But it should be destroyed before it causes more harm. It could come back after we are gone.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, "I'd imagine something that big can be found relatively easily... but it wouldn't hurt to have a bit of magic to help with that."
He says, "Might be worth looking for wands, scrolls or potions that might be useful."

Darry Swiftfoot |

He was quiet watching the interplay between the obvious companions not sure what to say or do, After all it wasnt exactly his place to tell them what to do, he wasnt even sure why they were up here... wasnt like this place was a great bastion of civilization, if it werent for family he wouldnt be here for sure.
Once the flooding subcedes i'm not sure that beastie will be making its way back anytime soon mates, I mean it was quite the size and not likely to want to wallow this way, but if a beastie hunt you'll are after I suppose I would be glad to join ya.
He offered patting his faithful friend Sebastion.
