I was thinking that only applied to mental control, but you're right -- confusion is a compulsion. Darin's after Tarinhil in the initative, so the attack against Vinny would still have happened -- but I might be able to act this round instead of drooling.

Will: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 2 = 23 Sadly, the +2 morale bonus from Protection doesn't stack with Heroism.... Then again, apparently it didn't need to.

Tarinhil looks at the sickle in his hand with a growing horror as Darin's magic strikes him, burning away the mental fog. "That's why I ordered a cloak!", he shouts in frustration and leaps to the air, beating his mutated wings to carry him toward -- but not too close -- to the Runelord, hurling a Dispelling bomb, hoping to strip away the Runelord's magical protections.

Can't rapid-bomb, isn't a full attack -- and since the bomb says it's a targeted dispel, I don't think I can counterspell, sadly, though if I can, that's certainly what I'd be trying for....

Dispelling Bomb: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 2 = 33 CL check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Ugh. Not so much.

Might matter for Bear if he is benefiting from Pro: Evil and didn't include the bonus.
Unalaq steps up to the runelord, calls on the blessing of Tolc, and lays into him with three swings of his club.
I will use Channel Wrath to gain an extra use of smite evil and smite the runelord. Unfortunately, I doubt he qualifies for double damage.
