Folks, Theopolis approached to 50 feet (within range of detection spells), announced/revealed his presence, declared who he was and what lead him to this place.
He then instructed that if you are a "friend" to announce yourself, reveal yourself and give your intentions.
Two people were able to do this and two people could not.
For Theopolis to continue he needed some kind of assurance/voucher for the two individuals that would not reveal their names, even if it was a false one.
Additionally the assumption that Theopolis had moved any closer was a false one. I should have added that in my post when I asked for some kind of voucher, as it was apparently not clear I did not move forward.
Theopolis will have a very hard time traveling with anyone if simple instructions are unable to be followed.
This group has had its issues with law-and-order types before. If that's how you want to play Theopolis, great, but just be aware that you're going to rub some of us the wrong way.
Keep in mind that to some ears, "simple instructions" could sound like "outrageous demands."
I'm not worried. This little group has always had a bit of friction amongst its members, so I'm sure we can work things out.

Work has been a bear for me as well.
have not been able to get much time the past couple of days

Tolvan |

I am headed to a local con this afternoon and will be gone through Sunday. I am unsure how much time I will have to post or if there will be good internet. Please bot me if needed.

GM Shady |

Hi, I've had a few nightmare weeks at work (I'll tell you over a drink some time) but think I am back in the saddle now.
Just separately, I'm currently running an interest check on a Midgard campaign. My general practice is to offer slots first to players already involved in existing campaigns. So if you're interested please give me a shout via PM.

Kimberly Snow |

Hi all, will be out of it for a couple of days.... terrible cold and need rest

Anna Dunsany |

Get feeling better soon! We need Kimberly's bursts of undead-destroying energy!

Tried using roll20 from work and it is giving me a compatibility issue with IE. It doesn't like IE 11; using it from work. I can't use other browsers as systems are locked down.
Tried from tablet but Roll20 have to upgrade Roll20 to a paid subscription.
What are others using?

Tolvan |

Firefox and Safari both work fine for me. I sometimes have firewall issues at work with Firefox.

Theopolis Vitaron |

I have access to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, but even Edge will not support the video portions for roll20 for me.
Can you add the roll20 site to your compatibility view settings in IE?
Once I did that I was able to open the game, roll dice and move my character.

Chrome - I use a Chromebook so my choices are limited ...
BTW I am in San Francisco through the end of the week so timezone displaced (for me) and I have another long flight probably later in the week (I was originally coming for two weeks, now down to one and I still need to figure out my flight back, but that's the plan anyhow).

GM Shady |

Are we will waiting for Danica?
We were, not now. However, maybe someone can explain Kim's DC21 save against channel.
Save is meant to be DC 10 + level/2 + CHA mod
= 10 + 8/2 + 3 = 17
Am I missing something?
(should add, I'm waiting to get on a long plane ride home, so this may get resolved tomorrow).

Theopolis Vitaron |

while I am not sure of all the additions to the DC, Sacred Conduit provides a +1 (Trait) to the Channel Energy DC and Improved Channel provides a +2 (unnamed) to the Channel Energy DC. That gets the total up to a DC20 so far.

All,
I'll be attending Gen Con this year and will be mostly unavailable from this Wednesday morning through Sunday evening. Please bot me if needed.

Kimberly Snow |

I wanted to say I am still here, just been working lots of OT and had very little time for posting

Tolvan |

Hi all. I am back from Gen Con and catching up. Ready to advance here and looking forward to it.

Anna Dunsany |

Welcome back! How was it? Had a friend go and he said it was awfully busy.

Tolvan |

Always busy. I was scheduled to run 7 kid tracks. Was released twice but both times too late to jump into another table. So one time I wandered the dealer's room. and the other I met up with one of my DMs from the boards that I had never met but had played as players and at his table for 3+ years. A good guy. I got to play all three evening specials as Kid Tracks did not go in in the evenings. Fun and had good DMs all around. This has not always been my experience. I think the Con staff is working harder to make sure GMs are competent. As far as busy, This is my third time attending and I think attendance was off some this year. That was my perception anyway.
Its a 7+ hour drive for me without all the construction on Highway 65. I likely would not go dispite getting the free hotel room except that I get to see and play games with both of my kids. My son also runs PFS games and my daughter lives an hour and a half north and comes down for the weekend. So getting to hang out with my kids is a huge bonus. :)
A note about the dealers room at Gen Con. - Its the largest I have ever seen (I go to a reasonable number of cons too) and is set up so that many game companies are demoing their games in the room. If you only walked by each booth glancing at things it would take 2 plus hours to see it. And there are so many chances to jump into games and play with the authors or people from the game company that you could easily spend all 4 days in the dealer's room and be quite happy. And there are lots of good deals on product - plus no shipping.
Also, I like Indy. Its a nice city with good convention space and convenient hotels and restaurants and they have great food trucks at the convention center.

Hi, we're going on our family vacation tomorrow for 2 weeks, returning 24 August. I should have Internet access throughout but will try to detox from the computer a little. I will try to post once a day.
Feldgrau is fairly encounter rich. Sorry for not posting the last few days but this was a question of having to clear up a fair bit at work before I went away.

Kimberly Snow |

hello everyone, I need to apologize, things have been real crazy for me.
work has been a nightmare and I have been totally exhausted all the time.
good thing is that I am getting back to normal and will start to increase posting.
I will need to drop some games and I really do not want to drop this one.

Tolvan |

I sacrificed a 4th level spell to rid us of them. You "could" have had them in Fireball formation... :P

Theopolis Vitaron |

I am going to have limited access to a computer for the next week, please bot me as needed.

Tolvan |

Hey, I will be out of town this weekend starting tomorrow morning and will have limited access to my computer for posting until next Tuesday. Going to Dragon Con. :)

Danica Quinn |

I'm back. Catching up on posts.
Apologies for the absence. Was kind of forced on a technology free vacation by the "better half". ;-)

Danica Quinn |

Apologies for not participating the last couple of days as my father-in-law is in ICU. We are preparing for the worse situation at the moment.

GM Shady |

I've set up the map on Roll20 - I've had to switch off the Roll20 grid. I don't have access to a PDF editor here so am having to use a screenshot of a map from the AP book (the maps pack includes a mechanism to remove the grid from the view, but you need e.g. Acrobat Pro to do that - I have that at home but not here). The grid as it is in the AP book is uneven and won't align with the Roll20 one.
I've put the characters by the side of the mill, but the door is to the north. I'd assume the characters are actually just outside the door. Once you're inside you can move the counters accordingly.
Theo I have switched off the bars view on your character as I think it interferes with general readability and we aren't using Roll20 bars views anyhow.

Tolvan |

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law Danica. Wow, there seems to be a lot of such things going around right now.

Danica Quinn |

Thanks everyone. So far we are blessed with good news as he is showing signs of improvement.

Kimberly Snow |

just an update post here.
I have been off-line for a couple of days. had pneumonia real bad. almost bed ridden.
fever finally broke today after almost 4 days over 101F (38.33C for our non-american friends)
still a little light headed from the medications to reduce the fluid in my right lung.

Tolvan |

Hey all. Sorry for my absence. Reporting back in. I am fine but now have a stint in my LAD artery. I had mild chest pain while exercising but it seemed to be getting worse so I had it checked out. Total blockage, but other arteries had stepped up to help so I had little or no damage. Moral of the story, if you have chest pain, get it checked out.
I'll get a post up tomorrow.

GM Shady |

Hi - sorry. Got back from a trip to the US and acquired an infection - have been in hospital this last week. Got out yesterday and finally online today. I'm just going round updating my various games; will try and get things back on track tomorrow (but I have a fair bit of catching up to do). Apologies again.

Anna Dunsany |

Yes, sorry to hear about everyone's troubles. Hope things are improving for everyone!
Anna's placed as best as I can manage on Roll20. (Trying not to clutter up the game thread.)
