I know a couple of the game threads have been created already but with some of the box runners and players being new plus many of them having signed up weeks ago it seems like a good idea to open discussion on all of them early.

Gives us time to double check that everyone is accounted for and time to answer questions.

I'd love to set up my table, but I'd been waiting on being formally given the introduction texts for the adventure, which have yet to be distributed to those who don't already have access to them. I suspect many other Box Runners are waiting for the same thing; especially since the ones who are new to Box Running are the least likely to already have access to those texts (besides digging them out and copying them from another Play by Post).

I'm strongly considering setting one up without them, however, especially since it's been brought up.

Don't pigeon-hole me. No thanks. I'm not too fast. I once got to level 3-6 in Super Mario Brothers!

Oh wow! I didn’t see that I was going to be a Box Runner for this event. I had received an email saying that my table was going to be collapsed, but now I see 4 people at my table.

I’m grateful!

Give me some hours and I’ll get a page setup for people to check in!!!

Hi all, just getting back from vacation and catching up on the forums. Anyone waiting on this info please email me at redeux@orgplayonline.com. Please include your paizo username and which season you're running. I'll help provide the filler text you need to get the campaign pages created. I'll try to get this turned around ASAP, but please allow up to 24 hours as a worst case scenario.

Cheers,

Hello all!
I am HOPING that we will see the scenario PDFs dropped to you all today. However, if they're not, I'll be sending each of you ALL the information you need to start the first scenario of the adventure you're running. We won't leave you hanging!

Here's a link to a copy I made, identical to the default Deck Handler but with the Sideboard linking fixed.

Here is another sheet I updated and posted over on another thread.

Box Runners have been granted their PDFs (though there were of course a few small errors, but that's to be expected) and all players should have gotten an email from me yesterday with some instructions. Box Runners should expect an email from me later today with detailed instructions as well.

Games all start on Monday (July 9th) at 12:01 AM Eastern time (though of course many Box Runners will put up their initial game post once they wake up the next morning). Box Runners may feel free to do that initial post a few hours early, but make sure the players know that the game doesn't officially start until 12:01 AM Eastern time!

Really dumb question that my group though of when we finished up Season 3-2 last night....

For the chronicle sheets, since we can only take a single deck upgrade per person, why do they have slots for 3?

Some scenarios reward you by stating that you get an additional card upgrade, as specific reward text.

Also, I suppose you could use it to indicate other bits of information, like you having banished a card that was taken as a card upgrade. Technically, the official rules don't say that that's important (beside it obviously no longer being in your deck), but Tyler has suggested in another forum that it should remove your ability to re-use that Card Upgrade in the future (such as for Substitute characters as per 4-P1 and 4-P2 rewards).

Hi all!

Our Cards Against Gnomanity event is almost finished, and with the end of that event comes the beginning of another, Play-By-Post Gameday VII. This event will include the multi-table special Assault on Absalom in slot 2, which runs from October 1st-November 12th. As of this moment, there are two slots left at tables for that special on the ACG side, so if you haven’t signed up yet, go check out the Specials Sign-up Sheet.

When the first slot of GameDay VII ends on September 30th, if you are running or playing in any tables of Assault on Absalom, I will ask that you try to wrap up as many of your tables as possible in order to free up time and energy to devote to the Assault on Absalom run. We want this to be a huge success! Andrew (Hawkmoon 269) will be the lead for this event, so if you have questions about how it will run, email him at hawkmoon269@orgplayonline.com.

Thanks for making Cards Against Gnomanity such a success!

Hi guys,

I have never played in the ACG before.

So on my Faction Journal Card in PFS I saw "Successfully complete a scenario in Season 3 of Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild: Season of Plundered Tombs."

So what do I need to buy to be able to complete a couple of scenarios in season 3 and how can I play PbP?

Sorry if this is stated somewhere on this site.

Thanks

Greetings Noral, nice to see you and looking forward to our highdelve RPG game. Sorry for the slow response!

So for Play-by-post you'll need what's called a "class deck/character deck" or an "ultimate deck". Note that you do not want a "character add-on deck" since those are expansions for a a whole base set which you won't need for organized play (unless you love it so much you're going to buy a whole box). Confusing, I know, but just stick to one of those two links I gave you, and pick one from there. If you want help determining what deck to get, tell me what kind of RPG characters you usually like playing and I can help narrow down the choices.

We help teach people how to play but you should still be somewhat familiar with the ruless. The rules can be downloaded here by looking for "Mummy's Mask rulebook". Alternatively if you have an android or apple device you can download the free "Pathfinder Adventures" app. The app isn't perfect, but I find that it is generally useful to help you understand the general flow of the game. It will certainly help make reading the rules easier if you have an idea of what is going on.

As far as how it works with play by post. You can read this blog post to give an overview.

Lastly, you'll need to find a season 3 "Plundered Tombs" game. If you go to the recruitment page here you say you're interested in joining a plundered tombs game. Occasionally we'll have events start up where you can sign-up for games. You might be hard pressed currently since we just started the gameday event alongside the RPG tables, but there will be plenty more opportunities in the future

Great!! Thanks a lot!!

I usually play dex-based martials (Swashbuckler or bard) or int heavy arcane casters (Wizard, Arcanist, Witch).

Box Runner

Best deck I think in that case would be the Pathfinder Tales Character Deck. It includes 1 rogue who takes on "devil" forms, 1 wizard who does utilize finesse weapons with his dex, and a sorcerer that always successfully recharges arcane spells (not discarded). So that would give you a few different options that fit your taste. You can read more about the tales deck here

There's also the Rogue, Sorcerer, Bard, and Wizard class decks that could give you a few options within those classes as well. Another fun deck is the witch deck. There's also an Arcanist in the "Ultimate Magic" deck, though note that the Ultimate Decks only come with 1 character (as opposed to 3-4 in other "class/character decks"). Of those that I just listed my favorite I've played is probably the Witch Deck. Feiya from that deck is an intelligence-based caster and what's cool about her is she can help reduce the difficulty of checks for her allies at her location.

If you want to read the character sheets in advance to help your selection:
Go here and download "character sheets"

There are a few of the character sheets that haven't been officially released yet (Including the Tales deck I mentioned)
Community Sourced character sheets for remaining decks (click the links to go to boardgamegeek and download from there)

To all Box Runners:

It looks like the forums are working MOSTLY now, but you'll likely still see an error screen sometimes when you try to post an update. ALWAYS copy your post before you hit Submit, otherwise you're going to lose posts all over the place!

Hopefully that's the end of the major problems, but we shall see!

ANNOUNCING Player Signups for RetroCon!
When: January 14-March 8, 2019

★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★

Hi everyone!

We’re excited to announce player recruitment for our next PbP convention. The RPG gang is running four different older specials at the same time. Most of these specials are RPG only, but one, Cosmic Captive, also has an ACG component so please sign up! Everyone is allowed to sign up for one RPG table and one ACG table. We will remove all sign-ups for players that do not respect these limits. (For more info about the RPG specials, you can click here.)

★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I sign up to be a Box Runner?
Sorry, we have already finished BR recruitment for this event, but if your interesting in learning how to run a game online, let us know!

How do I play?
Enter your details on this spreadsheet.

Will there be boons for Players and BRs?
Absolutely. This is a convention for which you don’t have to leave home.

Can I participate if I am new to Play-by-Post?
Certainly! Just let your BRs and Players know. They’ll be glad to help. Also, check out the Campaign tab above for some general info about how to play the ACG on the Paizo forums.

How many games can I sign up to play?
You may only sign up to play at one RPG table and one ACG table during this convention.

Why do you have so few tables of the Special? I won’t get a seat!
Don't worry! There's a wait list on the sign up sheet, and we'll add more tables as needed.

I have another question!
Feel free to post here or contact me by PM or at morkxii@orgplayonline.com.

ACG tables are filling up quickly for the Cosmic Captive special! But there's still a few seats left, and we will be adding more tables as necessary. I've already added a third Tier 5 table. Please sign up on the Wait List if there aren't any seats left at your preferred tier - that way we'll know where to add additional tables.

Looks like there are still a few slots available and it doesn't start until mid January, so you should be good.

Been wanting to get into PACG after playing it on my ipad for forever, and finally bought a deck (together with the MM base set to play with my friends). Would like to try out the card guild at the upcoming retrcon but not only am I still unfamiliar with the rules (with the iPad automating everythting), and it seems that the posting rate would have to be quite frequent to keep up?

For one of the specials, you will probably want to have a decently often posting rate (at a minimum, once per day). If you'd like to jump into a game that is NOT part of RetroCon, that can probably be arranged pretty quickly.

So it looks like there is blank table slots.
Can I sign up for a second table?
I can definately do daily posts on two tables
I am currently in a T2 and would like to go in one of the T5 as well
Thanks!

Unfortunately, we are only able to give credit for specials like Cosmic Captive to any given player ONE time, so you won't be able to play in two tables at once. (Plus, with the interactive nature of this scenario, playing on two tables at once might actually cause some issues that we'd like to avoid.)

OK, thanks for the explanation.

DEAR PLAYERS/BRs/GENERAL LOVERS OF ONLINE PACG GAMING!!

I have a fairly simple request for all of you. I am conducting a survey in order to determine how you currently play and how you intend to continue to play the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game online. I would really appreciate it if every one of you would fill this short survey out, as it will be helpful for making adjustments/updates to online organized play moving forward.

Please only respond once to this survey! It will require you to enter your Paizo.com screenname. I would also appreciate it if you'd add a contact email address, but this is not a requirement.

Thank you all very much in advance!

Got the hunter deck. How do cohorts work?

Morph147 wrote:

You draw your starting hand, then add any cohorts to your hand. Most cohorts are displayed for their ongoing abilities, so you'd just immediately display them.

Cohorts are described in more detail in the Wrath rulebook.

Morph147 wrote:

If the back of your character card lists cohorts, you choose one of them and add it to your starting hand (so if you have a hand size of 5, you'll have 6 cards in your starting hand -- the 5 you drew that includes your favored card type, and your cohort).

Beyond that, play it mostly just like a normal card. Cohorts are neither boons nor banes, so things that affect boons or banes do not affect cohorts. Finally, banishing a cohort is really bad. Like characters, cohorts have "perma-death" enabled. When they would be banished, they're removed from the game instead (meaning you can no longer take that cohort in a future scenario with that character; they're dead). Because of this, you should be more cautious with them.

Many cohorts display to do stuff, and then can do things while displayed. If your cohort is like that, you generally want to display it ASAP (in other words, immediately on turn 1 after the hourglass is turned and start of turn effects happen). This also keeps it safe from things like damage.

Is there an easy way to add the cohorts I have available to my deck handler?

As far as Organized Play (OP) goes though, I don't think cohorts really perma-die. Tanis indicated that the remove from game rule relating to cohorts isn't used in OP. Though the context was more scenario cohorts than character cohorts so I'm not 100% sure here. This was supposed to be addressed in the updated OP guide but it seems to have been left out.

I still wouldn't recommend banishing a cohort though if you can help it. The characters who have cohort access are developed and balanced around having a cohort. Like skizzerz said, display it as soon as you can at the start of turn 1 (even if it's not your turn).

Check out my Ukuja handler

You put your cohort(s) in cells C39/C40 and that will put their text into your hand summary regardless of whether the cohort is displayed or in your deck/discard. Cell C42 will populate the skill bonuses you get from your cohort(s) and include this information in your hand summary when they are displayed. Feel free to make a copy of the excel sheet or follow my formula logic to see how I implemented that.

I plan to use a bit of your stuff but with my deck manager already made, I figured I would just copy and paste stuff as relevant and made a cohort tab seperate. Dont have time to figure out google sheets scripts at moment.

Play PACG Play-by-Post? Feel free to use my custom Deck Handler. An index of my other Deck Handlers can be found here.

With the new Core Set now upon (most of) us, and an upcoming event ready to introduce Core and Curse into the Play-by-Post space, I ended up spending some time to modify the default Deck Handler provided in order to try to support playing it with the Core Set rulebook and cards better. I've also tried to add some features and functions that support better automation to enable players to make their turns faster, and to share more information where possible.

Firstly, the current version of my modified Deck Handler can be found at this link. It should be emphasised that it can be used in exactly the same way as the existing Deck Handler if desired.

Note that you'll see the test cards in that Deck Handler are mixed up all over the place in an ugly fashion - that's by design, as it allows some of the script-based features to be shown off!

Deck Handler Changes - My overall Goals:
The primary goals/design philosophy of my Deck Handler changes were as follows:

  • It should be possible to treat it identically to the pre-existing standard Deck Handler (in other words, it's no more difficult to use, and doesn't require players to expend additional effort). In other words; if you see anything new you don't like or don't want to use - just ignore it or delete it! It should still work fine.
  • Provide automation where feasible, allowing players to create characters, apply feats and take turns faster.
  • Increase readability/value to the 'Hand/Skill/Power" summary at the end of every turn.
  • For those of you wanting to see a documented list of all the new features and how to use them, I've tried to make as cohesive a list of changes as possible below. Feel free to just play around on your own copy of the Deck Handler instead, however!

    Non-Scripted, Major Changes:
  • A "Recovery" area is added below the player's "Hand" area.
  • The "Sideboard" has been removed (as it was bugged in the original Deck Handler, and only relevant for Aric/The Red Raven anyway) and is now listed as "Other", to be used to track whatever players want and have those values publicly reflected in their hand summary. By default, it includes text for players to track spare Hero Points, but the hand summary will scale to include any other information entered in those cells, and ignore blank cells. (Perhaps players want to track if they've used their once-per-scenario Reroll boon, for example, or their Mythic Charges)

  • A "Marked Scourges" table has been added, which includes the text of every Core and Curse scourge. By checking the respective checkboxes, the scourges will highlight in a new colour and add the spoilered text for the scourge into your hand summary automatically. This should make it much easier for players to track what the new Scourges do, as well as much easier to share with the party which scourges they have and how it's affecting them.

  • Skill dice, Skill Feats, Decklist, Card Feats, Starting Hand Size and Hand Size Power Feats are all tracked on the new 'FEAT TRACKING' sheet. By entering values on that sheet and checking (or deleting) checkboxes there, your hand summary and decklist card types will automatically update on the other sheets. This primarily serves to make it FAR easier to create a new character in the Deck Handler (I can personally attest to that!), and also means the summary posts can look a bit nicer by automatically bolding checked skill/hand size feats and placing unchecked feats in "ooc" tags. (Sadly, there's no user-friendly way to track normal power feats with nice-looking checkboxes automatically.)

  • Players can optionally add a URL in one of the 'DON'T LOOK!' columns next to their cards. In doing so, when these cards show up in their hand summary each card will automatically have a link to that URL. The main intended purpose is to allow people to add links to the pacg wiki article for each card in their deck, which means that a party of players can simply click on someone else's card in their hand summary to immediately find all of its card text... but strictly speaking, players can use this feature however they like.
  • Non-Scripted, Minor Changes:
  • The top X cells in the Hand Area will automatically recolour themselves into a lighter shade of blue, where X is your listed Hand Size. This lets you easily see how many cards you need to draw to fill your hand - a great reminder to players who just took a Hand Size increase! Note that hand size adjustments should be made in the 'FEAT TRACKING' sheet. (Additionally, the 'FEAT TRACKING' sheet allows a player to 'manually' set a hand size regardless of their power feats, in case they have something modifying their hand size - like the Shapechange spell.)

  • Notes is broken down into 3 sections, to encourage players to give more information to their team easily:
    1. "Support"; to list what cards/powers they have to help others - very important with Core adding supporting effects to way more boons across the board.
    2. "Movement"; to indicate to other players, or the BR, where a player would like to be moved, such as if their current location is closed. Core rules changes means that people will often end up being moved off-turn, so listing intended movement in advance will speed games up.
    3. "Other"; to list whatever else the players want, like strategy.

  • "Top of deck" has been renamed "Reloaded", to bring it in line with new terminology - it's also been slightly increased in size now that it will be used more (and the "Set Aside" section decreased in size because we have Recovery for some of its purposes now).

  • Players may check an option in cell D37 to "Draw from their reloaded cards first", which forces the 'draw' function to only display the top card of a player's reloaded pile, and will not draw from the deck until the reloaded pile is empty. This is really useful to players who instinctively 'draw' cards without pulling from their top-of-deck first. (I do this myself a lot, and I've seen several other players do this even before "Reloading" becomes a real thing!)

  • There is now a "Random from hand" function, mirroring functionality from the "Random from Discarded" option. Randomly discarding cards from hand has become a tiny bit more common in Core, and even in Season 5 (Skull and Shackles) I found myself frequently having to roll dice to randomly pick cards from my hand, so this just makes that function a bit easier to do.

  • Bugfixes have been applied to "Unknown Cards" and "Total Deck" sizes, and they both now properly consider "Set Aside" cards to be not in your deck, and "Reloaded" cards to be known cards in your deck.

  • You can add the difficulty of the check to 'recover' a card in a new column in 'DON'T LOOK!'. This mostly serves to assist with a script-based automation tool (see further down), but it can also just be used as a reminder so players can glance at it to know the difficulty to recharge specific spells/items.

  • Several cells/fields have notes/tooltips added to assist teaching users how to use the Deck Handler.

  • Players may copy from a single cell (E29) to past their full Hand/skills/power summary.

  • The 'skills' and 'hand size' parts of the 'LOOK!' table (used for your Skills and Powers spoiler/summary post) use non-relative formula. In other words, you can drag them around, cut and paste or copy and paste them wherever you want without accidentally messing up the cells they refer to - so you can drag your skills apart to create space to enter your other skills like normal (such as "Stealth: Dexterity +1" between Dexterity and Constitution).
  • Added Scripts:
I've also added some scripts to further automate common functionality for players. For example, by entering a number and pressing a button a user can automatically heal their character a given amount - both removing a number of random cards from their discard pile, and clearing their Recharged/Reloaded piles to represent the deck shuffle.

Scripts allow me to implement functions that are impossible (or highly difficult) with regular sheet formulas and tie them to 'button presses'... but since this isn't a 'verified' add-on by Google, attempting to use these for the first time will raise warning messages until you agree to use them under 'Advanced' options.

I can personally attest to the safety of the scripts (you can also read them yourself, if you're more technically inclined) - they're just copying and moving cell data around and generating some text messages - but it's a known barrier to their use, and I would generally tell people not to listen to any advice that says "ignore this warning and go to advanced options to enable it", for good reason.

However, these script-based functions are also fully optional - the sheet works fine if you completely ignore them - or even just delete them outright.

With that said, here is what these scripts can do, should you choose to activate them. Once you click through the warning once, it won't pop-up again on that copy of the Deck Handler.

  • "Push Cards up to fill Empty Space": By pressing this button, all of your cards are 'squashed' up to the topmost empty cells of each area/column, without otherwise changing their order. After discarding, recharging, burying, displaying and healing various cards, this is a nice way to 'clean up' the look of your Deck Handler.
  • Additionally, the "Push Cards" script has an added benefit: If you check the "Sort Hand on Push" option in cell E37, then using it will automatically sort your hand in order of card type (Weapon->Spell->Armor->Item->Ally->Blessing), at least if you've got their card types listed in 'DON'T LOOK'.

  • "Heal X Cards" will take an input "X" (from cell I15), then shuffle that number of random cards from your discard pile into your deck. Better yet, it will automatically generate a block of text that you can place into your forum post to indicate what was just healed. It really does shuffle your deck - it'll clear your Recharged and Reloaded columns as well as removing X random cards from your discard pile. (Note that you can use X=0 to simply shuffle your deck with no other effect.)

  • "Recover all Cards" will not cause any alteration to your Deck Handler, but it will generate a text post for you where you automatically make a recharge/recovery check against every card you've listed in your Recovery pile/area (in the order they're listed there), using a dice roll that you've listed in cell I24. If you've added their check-to-recover, then it will also automatically add the difficulty of the Recovery Check in your rolls. If you've set a 'default recovery skill', it'll list the skill being used as well. Players can simply paste this chunk of text into their post at the end of turn, preview their post, then move their cards from recovery as appropriate - very useful for people casting 3+ spells a turn.

Note that the generated text from both the Healing and Recovery scripts will intelligently update by the character name and character pronoun you've set (it currently defaults to "Ezren" and "their").

Feedback is greatly appreciated, along with any suggestions, or even requests! My addition of a 'sort your hand' function was on-request, for example. I plan to create another sample Deck Handler modelled on a Core character to demonstrate what a 'full' Deck Handler may look like.

In fact, I could even create a custom Deck Handler for each Core/Curse character once the Character Sheets are officially released - including small changes to cover each character's own unique qualities and power sets. The new changes to handling skill feats and card feats makes entering a character easier than ever before, and with some time I could even extend the "FEAT TRACKING" sheet to cover other power feats, I think - it'd just have to be developed on a character-by-character basis.

This is gorgeous and awesome and all of the win, Yewstance! I especially love that you included links to the wiki so that players who don't have access to certain cards can see the text easily. I just spoke to Matt, who is in charge of the wiki, over the weekend at PaizoCon and he has plans for several new features, and should have the Core and Curse cards all up on there relatively soon.

I'll definitely be using this new version in my own games and promoting it to all my players. Great job!!

I thought I had replied here but must have lost the post. @Yewstance, I love the new deck handler and can't wait to start using one for the next character I play! Thanks for all the work you've put into this!

    2 minor suggestions.
1, I really like making use of Data validation to make each cell (in Hand, discards, etc) into a dropdown list.
    2. I've started including my current location in my update posts, it helps a lot when checking the other character's status, and I think will be even more useful with the increase in `local` effects.

Echoing the praise for Yewstance's initiative! I've already PMed him a suggestion for refining the random card selection.

Firstly, I can certainly confirm that EmpTyger and Zalarian have already sent me some great examples of features to integrate - I just need the time to include them.

    Thank you for these suggestion!

The current location can be put under the 'Movement' section of the notes, or the 'Other' section of the notes (in what was previously the 'sideboard'), but I can certainly include a more clear area in the template!

As for Data Validation, it's an excellent idea which I've seen done, but I worry that turning every cell into a dropdown box technically leans against my goal of trying to keep the Deck Handler function (and look) as much like Tyler's as possible. Perhaps I'll offer it as an alternative sheet or an entirely different version of the Deck Handler, because I worry that some individuals would rather the cells just have static, normal paste-in, backspace-out behaviour without accidentally opening or stepping on the toes of new features.

I personally use some features in personal Deck Handlers which I'm never going to include in a default/base Deck Handler, for example, to minimize the difficulty of understanding the changed/added functions, sheets or otherwise.

I believe I copped that from masaru20100 on the site.

I think the Data Validation thing is a great idea for sure. I'm pretty sure even if you have it set as dropdowns, you can still type free text into those fields, so I don't think it'll actually make it less functionally similar to the old sheet. And honestly, that old sheet that I built is so functionally deficient compared to Yewstance's version, I hesitate to even make a comparison.

So I say validate away! :)

First of all, thanks a lot for sharing your deck handler, Yewstance. It's great!

I came here to ask about the "Copy&Paste" sheet. What do you envision using it for?

I kinda forgot I didn't Hide that sheet, oops.

Anyway, I personally actively use that sheet to enter in common actions I undertake in a turn, so I can just paste them in later and save some time. As I play a character, I put in more and more - like the text I use when revealing a certain weapon, so I roll certain dice, which is going to end in a pass (defeat) or fail. Or I use a specific card to search my deck to draw one of a few specific cards.

If it's not needed, it can just be deleted. I really should've Hidden it, since it's just a personal touch I tend to use, not something I'm trying to sell to others.

Alright all; I am proud to announce an updated Deck Handler with several more features that have been recommended and requested.

I'd like to take the time to first thank several people...

    1. EmpTyger, for his suggestion on refining the random-from-discard/hand functionality, and providing me with access to his own code solution to adapt.
    2. Zalarian, for his suggestion on adding duplication-checking, among several other suggestions, and providing me with access to his own code solution to adapt.
    3. eddiephlash and Masaru20100, for their suggestion/implementation of Data Validation to enable adding cards via dropdown lists, as well as the suggestion to make a custom field to track your current location.
    4. cartmanbeck, Dinketry and Akaitora, for their support and positive words!

With that all said and done; Version 4.4 of my Deck Handler is now complete and should work fine.

    New Features/Changes:
    In no particular order...

    KEY FUNCTIONALITY

  • You can now use a dropdown box (or enter your own text) to filter the 'Random from Hand' and 'Random from Discard' functions to only pick from a specific type of card in that section. For example, if you have an effect that says "Heal an Ally", or "Discard a random Ally", you'd set the box from "Any" to "Ally", and only random Allies will be picked. Very helpful for some characters - like Kess!
  • (Thank you to EmpTyger for the code to adapt!)

  • All card areas in the Deck Handler have a dropdown functionality, in case you want to select a card from your deck rather than type it out or copy-and-paste it. Potentially very useful for mobile users or when using an effect to search your deck for a specific card.
  • This will also put a little red tag on any card that you enter that does not match a name of a card in your deck (as per the "DON'T LOOK!" sheet). This can help indicate to you if you've made some kind of mistake with your entry, or you acquired a boon and forgot to put it in your deck.
  • (Thank you to Masaru20100 for the code to adapt!)

  • Speaking of error checking; the Deck Handler will check to see if there you've entered duplicate cards into the main LOOK sheet, or tell you which sections (if any) list cards that aren't also listed in your DON'T LOOK sheet. If these warnings get annoying, you can disable it with the checkbox at E39.
  • (Thank you to Zalarian for the code to adapt!)

    INTERFACE CHANGES/IMPROVEMENTS

  • Displayed cards are now also presented as links to whatever URL is entered for them. Now players can easily follow a link to see what your displayed Armor of Insults does!

  • You can enter your current location in cell D27, and it'll show up in your hand summary post. If you leave this field blank, the 'current location' section will be dropped entirely from your Hand Summary, so as not to bloat it with information if you don't want to fill it out.
  • Likewise, any Notes section you leave blank will be dropped from the Hand Summary. If all of your Notes sections are blank, the entire segment will be removed - try it yourself!

  • Oh, and I cleaned up the look of hand size feats, and the Skills & Powers section in general.

    SCRIPTED FUNCTIONALITY

  • Healing and Recovery texts spat out by the Scripting functionality have been tweaked to be - in my opinion - more useful and cleanly formatted.

  • Behind-the-scenes scripting improvements to make it easier to update the UI in the future, if need be. Also removed some unnecessary lines of code.
  • As an additional bit of work, I've also created a Deck Handler for Core Set Lem based on the template and modifying the 'FEAT TRACKING' sheet to cover all of his power feats and role options. This can be used to see what an actual Deck Handler (with feats trimmed down and powers added) can look like; or just used for your own Core Lem if you're playing one!

Here showing off what Lem's skills and powers look like - with varying Role cards selected, but with no actual feats checked.

Hey, thanks for working on this. It looks great!

I got one question though. I can't quite seem to get the "Push cards up to fill empty space." button to work. The first I pressed it, it asked me if I wanted to give permission for it to run script. But after I've done that, when I press that button, I get the messages "running script", then "finished script", but nothing happens. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Here's the deck handler in case anyone wants to take a look.
