Thanks for the info on copying spells/formulae.

I had to be difficult. I fully understand if PFS requires siding one way or another ;)

I'd like to respond to this.
This is not a PFS problem, this is a published material problem.
I, as a GM, always try to give my players as much information as possible, both in and out of character. It enhances world building, makes PC feel invested in the story, ect.
In this instance, an author did not anticipate a question you had. In character, this is a monumental moment, one that I wish I had a character in the SS faction playing this game. It feels to me important. So again I feel that I gave you as much information as I could. I also have reservations about me RPing one of the faction heads incorrectly.
As a PC, you all have some responsibilities too. Did you do your due diligence here? Let us list what you know, what I have reveled to you over the course of 3 mods:
- Both Sages used Torch as a contact to find lost jewels.
- Both sages hired a 3rd party to recover the jewels based upon Torch's information.
- Torch, as a young Pathfinder, found the jewels, and his entire party was killed.
- One of those killed was carrying an engraved Wayfinder
- Torch bought the sage jewel from the Aspis agents.
- Torch is suffering from some incurable wounds.
Given what you know, and what the Sages have said, what do you think they will do?
Honestly, I would be surprised if either will allow Torch to retain the sage jewel, though they might have different approaches.

Don't mean to be a pest... but I still don't see Pooka's chronicle in that link...

It is possible that the PCs nominate a third candidate or strategy, and the two Jeweled Sages respect this option and include it in the vote.
Added Korasu - continue to discuss.

Pooka For some reason its Sharing was off. Fixed and very sorry about the troubles.

Since Paizo is working at dial-up speeds, and I have lots of RL commitments tonight, please feel free to post and wrap things up, change your vote, discuss.
I will report the game by Friday, but everyone should now have their chronicles.
I will post the conclusion later this week/weekend, and I will shut the gameplay thread down by Monday.

Thanks for running, GM!
I agree regarding the published materials, and when you sum it up like that, we did get a lot of info on Torch.
With the other trilogy I ran over PFS (which was a good one) there were things that didn't wrap up between them. That was a direct consequence of PFS, the deadlines involved and the authors differing between scenarios. There were loose threads from the first one that Mikko admitted he heard about only a week or so before his final draft was due.
I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that this was one of those times. I've also been burned (heh) by a Torch scenario before, where by publisher fiat, he gets away and reveals nothing of the background to players.
Back to PFS, the sheer fact that players need to be able to dive into a scenario with no idea of previous scenarios means that the various plot-threads are hard to follow at best, or (more commonly) completely unconnected.
In an AP (published material) for example, there is a total level of involvement. Same goes for the lengthier modules. For both of those, the plot generally wraps up. PFS is an ongoing campaign, and unless you play every scenario - you may never see your plot unfold. Chances are that, even if you do, you'll see it with a different character.

Sooo....... still can't access my chronicle...
How about that weather? Crazy right? Just when you thought it would be an early spring *BAM* 12 inches of snow.

Addressing the PFS specific concerns: I'm fully aware of the limitations that PFS incurs. Sometimes they've rubbed me the wrong way more than others, but generally speaking I accept the confines that the Organized Play environment imposes.
An example of the hardest spot I've ever been in was a scenario that requires the group take one of two binary paths and the group wanted to go a different path. Nothing in the briefing actually spelled out the two paths, it was a primary objective, and I had to tell them that while I appreciated their idea, that wasn't a valid option to fulfill the mission.
I do like the fact that in this scenario, my "I reject options 1 and 2... I want option 3" is actually viable. It is a shame that the links to the previous scenarios (and Torch) are downplayed, but word counts and trying to make all parts accessible without a specific play order makes for a challenge.
Anyway, on with the conclusion!

I've enjoyed the games, but I will not be able to run in any new PBP games at this time. I want to free up time to focus on the game I'm GMing and a few other PBP games and maybe do more PFS games at local gaming stores. Good luck and may you always make your saving throws!

Votes are in, game is reported. I will inactivate this thread Monday. Please double check chronicles and make sure everything is OK in the reporting.
I just wanted to say "Thank you." to everyone. I hope that you had fun these over the course of these adventures.
I look forward to seeing you all again - online - sometime. Maybe we might even get to trudge through an adventure together on the same side.
Godspeed!

Again, thanks for running. I probably wouldn't have been able to play this series, especially not to this quality level, without you guys.
So... does this count as "recruiting a jeweled sage to join the Scarab Sages?" (I'll have to look at the exact faction card wording.)

Thanks again GM! Wonderful job as always.

Big thanks to everyone, great experience, see you all around i hope.
May Dicebot be forever in your Favour!

I loved the pace. I could usually look forward to a post being out there when I went to check.

Thanks for running and good luck.

Anyone know if PFS ever released a scenario that deals with recovering the lost sage jewel from Torch? Seems like a no brainier. We played most of season 6 but very little of season 7.
Regarding GenCon I'll be there this year with Pooka and Xull. I'll be the overweight, socially awkward, white guy. If you see me say "Hi"
Amarok Sandstrider |
I would love to do Gencon, maybe next year, a biy over the pond for me, will have to make do with Paizoconuk instead ^^
