I'm starting to think that Warpac may be an agent of bad luck.
Just starting? Then again it has not rubbed off on anyone ELSE yet. We'll have to see if you succeed anyway. If you fail, and had a spot of bad luck AFTER Warpac blessed you, then that will just make things more interesting :) His theory of being supposed to help others will be busted. More fun to follow.

If this does turn into a fight I just want to mention 2 things.
1 - Mind the charge lanes please - However this has some flexibility because my wheeling charge feat says that allies don't impede my charge, ie I can pass through their space. I just can attack from or end my turn in a space occupied by an ally. Pooka has reach with his lance, so just keep that in mind.
2 - Pooka has the banner ability, which gives you an additional +1 to attack when you charge, and a +2 to all saves vs fear.

If this does turn into a fight I just want to mention...
1 - Mind the charge lanes please
Warpac plans to back off and give you a charge lane after attacking if/when it comes to combat. You may have to hold an action but you will get to charge. I don't want them pushing past the entrance though, so I want to have two bodies standing there to prevent that from happening. Keeping them bottle-necked on a field of caltrops appeals to me.
Unless you want a free-for-all in the room? If so I could back up now, but I fear they will push past us during negotiations and ruin the surprise. They may be able to hear you, but they can't see you yet, and I like to imagine their faces when a plate armored hobbit comes charging around the corner on a frothing dog. She does froth, doesn't she?

Not to turn this into a semantics debate, but Toorin said 'found' not 'possess'. And you did take the bolts - Korasu has them.
"We've found no conventional weapons of any exceptional qualities."
I take that to mean 'magical'. Some GMs might take that to mean masterwork. We have to remember how special we are to have items like this. We are the heroes in a mostly mundane setting. At least that is how I see it.
So there have been some missteps and modifiers that you are not aware of, so the diplomatic route is not going very well, but it could be turned around should you choose. I have also taken an interpretation that you may not agree with on Toorin's comments and Warpac's caltrops.
Fighting is an option.
I would rather move this along, so you have all the information you need for a diplomatic solution, or just say 'Fight' and we roll Int.
Again your story :).

I have been posting what items found Toorin is carrying. He does not have the scimitar. I should have taken the time to double check the items found, but I was rushed this morning and didn't remember any weapons. Toorin will give diplomacy one more try if we truly did not take the scimitar out of the room with the elemental by telling them to go and see for themselves. Since they didn't show the wisdom to ponder the meaning of the name of the place, I don't think it would be evil of him to fail to mention the elemental protecting the items from theft without proving oneself to be worthy of the items. It would give us time to finish in this room and take the fight to a different location.
I'll check back in a few hours and go forward with this idea if no one else has either started a fight or indicated they are carrying the scimitar.
Would it be fair to say that if the scimitar were some kind of worm-killing relic, it would have given off an appropriately and unusually powerful aura? Since no mention was made of such a powerful aura, Toorin is inclined to assume that is not the weapon they are looking for.
Not exactly apropos of this situation but anyone remember this one? "Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is not basis for a system of government...."

Once per day, a zealot vigilante with this talent may use this power to smite a foe. Zealot vigilantes with the celestial or the fey divine power can smite evil creatures, while those with the abyssal or infernal divine power can smite good creatures.
As a swift action, the zealot vigilante chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is of the proper alignment, the zealot adds his Charisma bonus (if any) to his attack rolls and adds her vigilante level to all damage rolls made against, the target of his smite. If the target of smite is an outsider with an alignment subtype of the zealot vigilante’s smite, a similarly-aligned dragon, or either an undead creature (if the zealot vigilante’s smite is against evil creatures) or a good-aligned cleric or paladin (if the zealot vigilante’s smite is against good creatures), the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per vigilante level. Regardless of the target, smite attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.
For those curious. I made the assumption that it's an evil undead in my damage ;)

Re: danger ward. I would have never considered that it doesn't also work on myself, and only works on my allies. It's already extremely limited, since I have to use a standard action to activate it and guess which save to ward. If it doesn't work on me then that just sucks... :)
I suppose if you go by the letter of how it's written, it doesn't appear it affects me. I'll have to keep searching to see if this is clarified anywhere, but I can't find it right now.

"Be bold!", they said. "You're a pathfinder!" they said. I'd rather be studying.
I'm pretty sure that was Bestow Curse and not the Allip's actual attack. Bestow Curse has range of "Touch" so it would require a touch attack, though Korasu did fail the save.
Touch spells and spell like abilities still provoke to use, right? I know they don't provoke to make the touch attack so I suppose it could have "Cast" the spell while in the ground or something, though.

Twice a round? Man, that's so cool! Wish I were GMing more often. Would love to crack those guys out... maybe with some Mnemos forcing you to make will saves as your wisdom was slowly whittled away... and of course, some <redacted because I figured it out and you guys haven't> that you can't even see with invisibility purge messing with you all over the place. Mwa ha ha ha!

Job roll.
Profession (Diplomat): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
I'm struggling a little lately to have time to post in all my games. I don't want to pull out of this group before we get to the end of the scenario arc, but I if I continue, I'm probably not going to be able to post at the rate that matches others in the group. Let me know if that's a problem. I can always get one post in a day, but with this group, things move so fast that is not always enough to keep up.

Day job survival, take 10: 10 + 9 = 19
After Tuesday, Amarok will be 4th level, will have him levelled up before the next one ^^.
GM_TheBobJones
Toorin I hear that and totally understand.
As a GM I only require a post a day, but you are correct that this game moves faster than that.
Ultimately it is a personal decision that you need to make - you have a spot should you chose to continue but if you chose not to continue, no hard feelings.
Everyone should Toorin decide to bow out, we will run part 3 with 5. If anyone has a issue with that, please let me know via PM or here in the discussion and I can expand upon that.
You have this combat firmly in hand, but there is a lot of roleplay to conclude Part 2, and a BIG surprise on your chronicles. Once combat is over, I will report the game and post chronicles to give you all time to wrap your heads around it, and make adjustments accordingly.
I have most of part 3 already prepped so I would like to transition as quick as possible to Part 3.
To assist everyone in leveling, this was subtier 4-5 so level 3s get 1190 gp, and level 4/5s get 1864 gp.

Shouldn't a character get a saving throw against the wisdom drain of an allip? I did not see any saves, though they may have been done invisibly, or perhaps this is an unusual allip for all I know, but the standard allip's wisdom drain allows a saving through.

If it's damage, I'm not too worried either way.
For the Chron sheet, I'll have to see how the rest of the scenario goes. There's a couple SS faction card items I might go for.

Yes you do, but I missed so I did not roll his saving throw.

Need Korasu's next action, too, right? ;-)
Xûll is eager to get this round over so he can roll again on the next go around! At least if I can't post today, I'm covered.

I would venture to say that our party is "above average" in tactics and optimization, though having a group that knows each other's strengths helps significantly over a pickup group.
Also, we were stupidly lucky in some regards, especially Korasu ;)

I would like to play through to the end of the Sands of Destiny modules, so if you all don't mind Toorin being a somewhat silent observer or 'boting him when I can't post during the morning hours, I'll keep going, although I'll drop from the group after the next module is complete.

Posting once per day is all I have committed to also. For what it's worth, I'm fine with that speed and it will be great to have you along for the final part. While some of us post quite frequently, I don't think it's 100% necessary or writing gold. :-)
Let's 'loot the room'. Looking forward to part 3!
Just out of curiosity... was that the last encounter, GM?
GM_TheBobJones
Glad you plan to stick with us, Toorin.
So this was the last battle, and to help you out,
The PCs have several items left over from their adventures in Eto, including half of a weathered geode, a magical sending stone they can use to contact Amenopheus. When he gave it to the PCs, he informed them that it can transmit a message of several dozen words, to which he can then respond, but the stones will only work once; he requested that the PCs only use it when they have found one of the sage jewels.
There is a lot of wrap-up and potential wrap-up.
You have the mystery of the changed histories all over this place, and the mystery group of 'pathfinders'.

So much to digest across multiple games today. I got some posts up, but not all of them (including this one) - I will get to it tonight, I promise!
GM_TheBobJones
Well done everyone. As I said there is lots to still wrap up, and there are some loose ends to tie up, but they are all role-play.
In addition to your specific chronicle, please download and apply both Mythic #1 and Mythic #2 to your characters.
Mythic #1 is a rules overview and template, Mythic #2 has powers that you can choose 2 from, and I'd like you to post that here when you decide.
I will begin the narrative for Part 3 on Friday morning, you will have the weeded at least to get your characters leveled, apply the Mythic powers, and let me know of your new stats and all.
Again nice job, still lots of RP left, don't quit on me now.
