Ok, so I was going back to see what loot we had picked up recently because I think our treasure list under the campaign tab is a little out of date and a couple of things caught my attention. First, is we have some stuff we found in the ghast area that has yet to be identified. Secondly, I just clicked on the appraise spoiler (I don't think Pae even rolled for this particular one) and each of those crystals we just gave away was worth ALOT! Here I was thinking we needed them to get some more info out of the smith whereas now I'm like "Holy, we just gave away 20k!" Oh well, easy come easy go :) Not sure whatever else we have as far as currently unclaimed and undistributed coin and trade goods. I did mention perhaps we could trade the smith guy some stuff to get our weapons and armor further enchanted before we left (or while we travel to the Isle of the Dead). However, I am not entirely clear whether we feel we have time to waste (Jhavhul is wreaking havok out there while we are stuck in here) or do we get the impression that he has a lot to do before he can pick up doing whatever nefarious plans he had interrupted.

P.S. I, for one, am interested in enchanting my armor further and I imagine Daumari wouldn't mind further enchanting his weapon and armor. Of course, that is only if we have enough extra loot to spare to cover the cost. Efreat is lagging a bit behind the loot curve, so there is that to consider too. I was trying not to waste to much time on roleplaying weapon and armor enchantment negotiations which is why I brought it up out of character in the gameplay thread.

Egads! Bahir is right about all the extra unassigned loot we have gathered together. If I was Efreat, I would go an a loot-claiming spree as the Rings, the Wand, the Bracers and the Statue are perfect for him. Heck give him the Bottle of Air as well, he he.

I don't care about losing the crystals here. I think gaining the smith's services far outweighs the cost here. As for enchanting the armor and weapons I am all for it, as long as we have the time to spare.

Bahir, if you wanted to gather all the magical arms and armor, you could consider using the lamp to summon Dilix at some point.

Not a bad idea but I think Daumari and I can just make bundles and carry it to the boat. Not to worry, I was expecting to give all the crystals to the smith too Hazreem just was surprised by the value a bit. So no big deal. Lol, we tend to give away a lot of our stuff. Remember the gnolls? Totally makes sense for our type of party though.


Yes, the flint crystals were an extremely rare material that only grows in the proper combination of soil and on the border of the magic/anti-magic zones. And then they only grow at a agonizingly slow rate of one crystal per century.

I've tried to keep the loot list up-to-date. If you notice any discrepancies, let me know. Some of the values have ???, such as the +2 mithral buckler, more because I was too lazy to look them up.

Hmmmm, Perhaps I am missing it on the list. Where is the +2 mithral buckler and other group loot listed? I looked through the treasure lists and couldn't find it. Is it possible you have an updated list we currently can't see?

All I currently see under group/unassigned loot is 4 gp.


Whoops... You did not know it was a +2 mithral buckler. But you'd probably figure it out pretty quickly with some study.

Clicking on "DM Sardaukar" above brings me to "DM Sardaukar's page", Profile tab. Under there, the Unassigned/Party Loot section is as follows. Where are you seeing only 4 gp?

Sardaukar: Out of our unassigned list, what would Artel even be interested in as trade for his work? Doesn't look like we have enough actual coin to really get very far at all. So, if he isn't really interested in much else than I guess we'll head out. Maybe he'll feel generous still after those crystals :)

Efreat: Yeah, pick out some choice items. Looks like there is even a replacement for your exhausted Ring of the Ram.

Sarduakar: Can Rings of the Ram be recharged? How do you do it and how much does it cost?

Yeah it took me a while to discover there were two lists. I would suggest consolidating the list under the Campaign tab only, as it is easier for us to access.


Okay, I see it now. I'll just delete one and update the other. Would you rather have it under DM Sardaukar's profile or the Campaign's profile? I have updated the outdated one.

I'll try to identify the small statute of a dog (moderate transmutation), scroll (fron base of black spire), golden lamp (from Dilix), and red stone on gold necklace (from base of black spire).

Transferred goods to Efreat's list.

Spellcraft checks:
- Still no idea on the dog statue.
- The scroll is a Scroll of Disintegrate (CL11)
- The golden lamp appears to be as Dilix described. You cannot make out any additional properties.
- The red stone on a gold necklace is a Periapt of Wound Closure. A wearer of this amulet's wounds close automatically granting automatic stability when knocked down, immune to bleed effect against HPs, and heal at double their normal rate.

Since most people were looking at the Campaign Info page, I have updated that page and deleted the contents from the old one. There is now a link to the Campaign Info page in place of it.

Some more thoughts on the unassigned loot:


  • Efreat: You should take the second Ring of the Ram, since I do not believe yours can be recharged. Also you are the only one who can use the Scroll of Disintegrate.
  • The Periapt of Wound Closure should go to Bahir. Normally I would think Daumari is best suited for it (as he is a front-line combatant who cannot heal himself as easily as Bahir) but since he is currently an NPC it falls to Bahir. I would not object if we gave it to him however.
  • Daumari should take the 13 magical arrows and the Mithril buckler. Efreat could you Identify them?
  • The Potion, Bottle, and Incense we can keep as Unassigned Loot

Guess none of the other items we can use right now. What do you guys think?

I agree with your choices Hazreem. It does make more sense for Daumari to have the periapt so we'll give it to him. I am curious as to why the buckler though since he always fights with a double weapon?

I could take the ring of the ram; however, I have force effects to spare. Plus, I have forge ring so I could recharge the ring. I will take the scroll. I suggest that someone without any magical ability keep the ring of the ram so that said person has a backup force effect in case of incorporeal enemies.

As an aside Sarduakar, was it possible for Daumari and I to simply bundle the weapons and armor from the volcano and carry them to the ship? We'll just leave them hidden near the dock as we disembark.


Daumari Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

Daumari takes the arrows and studies them for a bit before identifying them as +3 Undead Bane arrows.

I've updated the list, thought there was some disagreement on who gets what. We can always change where I put them.

I have added the remaining weapons and armor from the volcano room to the Unassigned Loot list.

Pae, talk with Mah'ysa. She can Imbue with Spell-Like Ability you, perhaps with some spells for situations like this.

I think Efreat's next action is to toss the ring of the ram to Pae. This is the exact situation that I mentioned it would be a good idea for someone else to have the ring.

I have returned from my vacation and I am ready to lend my expertise to the battle at hand.


We have not heard from Daumari since the beginning of book 4. Prior to then he was frequently missing for long periods of time. I was originally planning on having him not get sucked into the vortex, or have appeared somewhere else if he returned, but he returned and said he was back for awhile just before the vortex.

Should we find a replacement player? Or are we good just having Bahir bot him?

I would recommend we get a replacement player for Daumari, probably when we return to Kelmarane. Of course if Bahir likes botting him (since Daumari IS an effective melee fighter) then I am OK with that too.

Yes, a replacement player would be very nice. I would have to add that Daumari is somewhat complex and anyone who we recruit would hopefully be interested in exploring the finer details and specifics of running an inquisitor.


I would concur with us needing a new player.


So bot him until you return to civilization, but the person botting him would prefer a replacement. I'll post to see if someone would be interested in taking over the existing Daumari instead of trying to work a new character into the campaign.

I've noticed a sudden lack of posting. Generally this seems to happen with this group when no one is sure of which direction to go and everyone is waiting on someone else to make a decision. But you are basically done with Book 4 "The End of Eternity". You just need to get out of this place. In order to get things moving again, I could simply narrate the remainder of the story to get you out of Kakishon and resume things from there at the beginning of Book 5. Let me know...

You will also be reaching Level 10 before leaving Kakishon, basically the next time you rest.

Seems like a good plan to me. Hazreem was just going to suggest returning to the proteans anyway.

I have found most players dislike taking over another player, so you may have to work in a new character to the group somehow.

Yep, I am also good with it. Seemed like everyone was telling us to visit someone else and no one could actually get us out of here. The only options I could think of was to go find that shaitan or go back to the edge of the world.

Unlike Bahir I have almost always had good luck with Hit points

I'll work on the narration over the weekend. Though I have two other in-person APs to run that will probably be occupying most of my time preparing. Somehow they both got scheduled on the same weekend. I'm running Rise of the Runelords for a group of my wife's friends on Saturday night, then running Serpent's Skull for a meetup group that meets at a local game store about once a month. It's going to be a Pathfinder heavy weekend for me.
