not even two months after graduation

Having an inside man helped. One of my friends was an intern at that company during his studies, and he referred me through their referral system, which was great help.

I just wanted to let everyone know the exchange between all the characters, combined with his own comment regarding every party needing a dick (we have discussed before that Rufus seems to be the dick of this party), sent my son into paroxysms of laughter.

In other news, yes, if you guys can keep him from dying, I would like to continue playing Rufus. If not, I will bring something else in at an appropriate time. I'm thinking I might try out Bloodrager. I have a couple ideas that would probably be thematically appropriate for this.

edit: I think this is where his hp are at thanks to Castor & Xelani. If I am wrong, please let me know.

Hehehe, yes...but Rufus can actually get stuff done so it all works out in the end! And for the record, both Korinne and Korinne's player would be quite sad to see him die.

Rufus will survive; Castor will make sure of that.

Withdrawing seems the most sensible option, considering how uncomfortably close to a TPK we've just got. It mostly irks me due to how efficiently we were proceeding, without raising any alarms or taking any damage, until that unfortunate crit. I feel like opting to retreat now would prevent us from taking advantage of the element of surprise ever again against the mites.

Also, without access to a restoration spell, it would still take 9 days for Castor to fully heal his DEX damage...

Castor can keep adventuring despite the DEX damage; he'll just need to stay out of melee range and focus on support abilities over archery.

It is a bit troubling to lose the advantage of surprise, I'll admit... Hm. Quite a puzzler.

Yeah, I'm loathe to turn around and retreat already but given that we don't know how many more mites there are (plus whatever else might be lurking) as well as both Castor and Xelani having already chewed through their healing capabilities for the day... :\

It is frustrating to have made so much progress, only to turn back; but I can tell you from both personal experience & historical evidence often times the difference between success & failure in actions like this is knowing when to play it safe.
Right now, the biggest argument in Rufus' eyes against retreat isn't how far we've come, but 'can we get far enough away that the Mites are unlikely to follow & attack us while we are defenseless?'

Guys, sorry I haven't posted in the last couple days. Thanks to the first big summer heatwave, I got slammed with several after-hours/weekend service calls in a row. I will post to gameplay later tonight, I promise.

Ugh. Sorry I haven't posted for several days. First I had internet issues late last week & then we had a major storm blow through that knocked out power until only this morning. Of course, I wound up working late as well.

I hope not, but I was just thinking earlier that it's been nearly a month since a GM post. I hope everything is okay and that he's not been waiting on us for a more official 'this is what we're doing' post...

Yeah. It is summer, and IME things tend to get a bit slower as a result, but still... I do second Korinne's hopes though.

Same here, I've been getting a bit concerned.

Considering my own posting is so significantly slowed down this season, I also hope that is the case.

Just popping in to say that while I'm still here and watching the threads, I think I'm going to (sadly) have to write this game off unless our GM returns or everyone wants to try finding a new GM to take over for us (or already knows someone that would be willing to take over). No matter what the outcome is however, I've definitely had fun playing with everyone :)

I'm in the same situation. I'll wait and see if our GM returns. That being said, I will be stepping down if we decide to find another GM. I'm cutting down in the number of games I'm in due to other hobbies taking up more of my time.

Yes, more than a month without the GM posting usually is a PbP's death knell. Still, this thing we had here managed to last quite a bit and it has surely been fun while it lasted! Castor, Korinne, Rufus: thank you for the enjoyable game we shared, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to play with you. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, both on these forums and in the real life (once more Castor, congrats for the job!).
