Well...here it goes:
I have been diagnosed with a bad ticker. And they are in a hurry to get it fixed: Next Tuesday I will be getting open heart surgery and a Heart Bypass at my local VA. That means I will be in the hospital for at least a week of recovery and home resting after that for weeks. I will attempt to keep up with my games, at least by phone for now, but I cannot guarantee anything after next Monday yet. That's assuming I survive. They gave me a pretty low percentage of something going wrong, but with any surgery you never know...
I am still available between now and next Monday however. If you need anything from me for this game until then, just let me know.
Either way, please feel free to bot my character as needed after next Monday, and I hope to get back to all my PbP games (by phone at least) as soon as I can. Hopefully by...Christmas? We'll see I guess.
=)

I hope it goes smoothly and you heal quickly!

FINALLY: That's it! I'm off to bed and a 6am call at the VA. Wish me luck and I will see you all on the other side hopefully. Please bot my character as needed until I can post again later this week at some point. Everybody have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas! Take care.

I will be on vacation from Thursday through next Monday. I am not sure how much I will be able to post in that time. Feel free to bot me as needed.

Yeah, I'm sorry. I was waiting for a response to my query and got lost in convention prep. My annual show is coming up in March (first weekend). I'll get something up this week.

I have a convention I am assisting in running in two weeks, so my responses will be slow or perhaps non-existent until March 4. Please forgive delays.

Voltage. |

I hope the convention is fun for you.

I am taking a small family trip for Spring Break. We leave Sunday and return sometime on Tuesday. I am not sure how much free time I will have to post, so please feel free to bot me as needed.

The con was a lot of fun! Our Gaming Guest of Honor was Shane Hensley, of Savage Worlds fame, and both our Author Guest of Honor (Max Gladstone, Empress of Forever and Last Exit) and our Media Guest of Honor (Jake Stormoen, The Outpost) joined us in playing games! Jake and Max even underwent the Klingon Day of Honor ceremony where they pronounce their great deeds for the year and bring honor to their house (our local Star Trek club does the ceremony every year for anyone who wishes to undertake it). I'm sorry to take so long to get back to this. It's been a whirlwind three days since the convention with wrap-up details (getting people to the airport, paying taxes, etc.).The con was a lot of fun! I have met Shane Hensley at a convention. He lives around where I do, but strangely I had to leave town to actually run into him at a gaming place.

That should be quite nifty as we bounce around time.

I'm taking a short vacation without Internet access from Wednesday, 5 June until 10 June, and will be unavailable during that time.

I want to apologize to all of you. I have been negligent and not all of it has a reasonable explanation. My life has become a little more hectic lately and my depression has kept me away from making posts recently, but those are excuses and you folks deserve better.
As much as I have enjoyed playing with you, I must call this one. I have lost momentum (through no fault of yours) and have quite forgotten where I was headed with it. I was stalling in hopes of regaining interest, but it just isn't there. I'm sorry to have let you all down and I hope that it will not color your opinion of me unfavorably.
I'll leave this up for a few days and then shut the game down. Again, I am very sorry. I appreciate the time and effort that you all put into the game and I am sorry for not reciprocating. I wish you all good gaming on the boards.

Pardon the Light of Hope for JUST a second, please.
Maybe this will help ...
When you transparently present the cause of something, maybe call them REASONS, not excuses. There is an entire world (worlds here in gaming) that will do its damndest to invalidate you: don't help it. It is okay for you to be experiencing barriers to gaming, and I am going to appreciate your candidness, as I have, every time. I know excuses when I read them; this is not that.
If you would like to know if you have let anyone down, you should totally ask. I am in no position to speak for anyone. But as a courtesy, let anyone who wants to tell you that go ahead and tell you that. In the meantime, maybe hope that your players had fun. Maybe ask if your players had fun. Math alone indicates, someone probably had fun. I for sure had fun. I stuck around because I had fun. Regarding letting me down, you would totally let me down if you didn't take care of yourself. Self-neglect is NOT fun, and I know that from extensive experience.
Facing adversity is what heroism is about, and that sir, makes you the hero here. Thank you.

I had fun!
=)
Beating Mr. Myzplck was a crowning achievement of my gaming career! MINOTAR will always be one of my favorite Hero characters.
Thanks for sticking with it as long as you have.
Besides…trying to figure out a safe place near Dallas in 1963 to sucker time traveling villains into a trap was taxing my brain. I was about to ask my mom for suggestions…
(I live in Dallas of course, and grew up in North East Texas most of my life.)
Good luck on the future: Don’t let yourself be your own worst enemy.

Thanks for running. I had a blast. I hope life treats you well!

Thanks for being so understanding, folks. And thank you, Rigel, for the words of encouragement. Just so you guys know, it was never about ensuring the Kennedy assassination happened. I did run an adventure like that one time where the characters had to make the decision whether to let him live or ensure that he was assassinated and it was not very well received. Rather, the little boy that you saw playing with the truck was the son of J. D. Tippit, the patrolman murdered by Oswald later that day. Inspired by his father's memory, his son would grow up to be a major figure in American politics. It was their plan to abduct the boy and remove him from the timeline, which would cause chaos further down the line.
By the way, as may be obvious, I have never been to Dallas. I was relying strictly on what little information about the city that was given in reports of the incident.
