As far as selling, I think the +1 shortspear, ring of jumping, pipes of haunting, and masterwork thieves' tools could be sold. Keeping the silver unholy symbol of Urgathoa in case we end up doing some far-fetched infiltration plan later. And keeping the wand of cure moderate wounds, of course. Audria is the only one who can use it natively, so I've marked it as being on her. Someone should just wear the boots of striding and springing - +10 base speed is nothing to sneeze at. Above list plus cash would put us at a total to be split of 11859.52 gp.
Any objections or additions?
Unfortunately, it's also now been six months since we've heard from Abella, and eight months since she was able to post in Gameplay. Should we think about reaching out to her, and maybe recruiting a different divine caster if she isn't able to come back?

Audria |

I would love to have those boots, if no one minds.
As for Abella, it sucks, but if they aren't posting here at all then it's probably time to consider them out. Another person that can heal would be awesome, but I think we can get by with potions and wands if we need to.

Shane Driscoll |

While the idea of a bouncy wizard can be fun, I think Shane is okay with the ring of jumping (And other items Shrike P suggests) being sold is fine.
And if Audria wants the boots of striding and springing? Fine by me. It would allow her a lot more battlefield mobility.
As for Abella, I hope her player is okay, but I think with six months passing in real time they'd totally understand.
If we go looking for new blood, I confess I absolutely want it to be a full divine healer of some sort, and , it makes sense that they'd have access to Remove Disease (Makes sense In Character and Out that such would be sought) . But that's my two copper pieces on the matter.

GM Harrow |

I reached out to Abella's player to check in. I imagine with how things are in the US, they're not in a great place right now.
I'm fine with recruiting a divine caster if Abella is unable to return at this time.

Elric Rivers |

Agree, a full divine caster would be nice.
No objection on the loot sale. Keeping the boots sounds wise, they would be an obvious boost to some of the melee types. I could see Pava or Shrike benefitting from them as well. With his archery focus, Elric has less use for mobility.

Lania 'Shrike' Fordyce |

As her big purchase last level, Shrike bought a different pair of magic boots whose effect I don't want to give up. No claim on the boots of striding and springing here.

Pava / Nips at Heels |

I'll go ahead and grab 'em then - thanks!
I dunno if Shane wants to do a practice run on the boat, where there's a... pretty clear flaw in the plan that Pava lacks the Know. (arcana) to see coming
I think that we've got a couple good places to investigate only, I could have missed something, but do we have reason to suspect that we'd find something untoward yet? Pava's deeply mistrustful of the crown, but gathering the sick in specific buildings doesn't inherently ring alarm bells to me.

GM Harrow |

I have the next hook ready, once everyone is happy with their downtime actions/posts. :)

Lania 'Shrike' Fordyce |

If both Pava and Audria are interested in those boots, it may be good to roll for them randomly.
Okay, final number for this sell-and-split is 2371.9 gp per person. Abella didn't participate in the adventuring that retrieved the loot, so I think it's fair to split it 5 ways. Let me know if there are objections to this. I did not sell the footlocker, but would like to just to get it out of there; however, I don't know what its price should be. From past days, we still have the broken dagger that is worth 300 gp but might be worth more to a collector. I think we were saving that to find a collector. Can we do that this time or next time, GM?
+1 Shortspear (50%) 1,000.50 gp
Direption footlocker coins 538 gp
Illuminated Serving Your Hunger unholy text of Urgathoa (100%) 1,500 gp
Giotorri's toyshop basement coins 450 gp
Ring of jumping (50%) 1,250 gp
Bone pipes of haunting (50%) 3,000 gp
Giotorri's toyshop lockbox coins 3.02 gp
Vampire bounty from Cressida Kroft 4,000 gp
Giotorri's deposit box coins 68 gp
Masterwork thieves' tools (50%) 50 gp
Total: 11,859.52 gp / 5 =
Per-person total: 2,371.9 gp (actually 2371.904, but let's just remove and keep the 2 copper pieces for ease of calculation.)
I'll work out Shrike's latest bookkeeping later. Since she's not buying anything big, just the antiplague and various gifts to individuals she's worried about, it probably comes to less than 200 gp.
I did not put any of the Eries Yelloweyes loot in the treasure sheet. Shane, since you decided which things you took from there, you're also responsible for entering it in the sheet.

Consequences. I've heard about them, but never thought they'd affect ME!
:)
Okay.
On his own, Shane took only potions Yelloweyes had spares of, the bottle of Air , and The Pearl of Power. It felt wrong to take any money and he wasn't sure who would want or use the alchemist toys but erred on the side of not taking non magical stuff.
His plan is to return the pearl or bottle when the city is saved, and repay the potions that are drunk, or just return them as well. I am putting that here so I don't forget OOCly
Pearl of Power (2nd Level spell) (4000 GP)
Bottle of Air (3,625 gp)
2 Potions of CMW (300 gp each)
1 Potion of Bear’s Endurance (300 gp)
I think I have the above entered into the inventory list and hope I got it right.
As for who it goes to, Shane would like the Pearl of power obviously, the bottle of Air might be better for either Shrike or Pava (Though I now have a mental image of Pava sucking air underwater as she slips to old Korvosa)
Potions are as needed?
Hope that works for all

Audria |

I'm okay with Pava having the boots so long as Audria gets the next pair. ;)

Shane Driscoll |

Awesome, thanks Shane! :)
YW!
I owe Pava P an apology as I misgendered Pava in a comment above ,THEY would be sucking from the bottle of air to get to Old Korvosa underwater. Very sorry about that, Pava P :(
Congrats on the boots though!
AND our GM has put out the word for a full divine caster recruitment!
Fresh Meat hopefully on its way!

Audria |

Woo!

Of the submissions so far, I’m leaning towards one of the clerics. I think a druid would be a poor match for a very urban adventure, and it feels a bit like trying to shoehorn an existing character into a new campaign.
But let’s see what they come up with as the final submission.

Pava / Nips at Heels |

I think Ethelinda and Mavis are ahead by a nose for me, mostly 'cause I think the cloistered Abadaran might get a little... scandalized in a way that a Chaldiran definitely won't, and an Iomedan who very pointedly never could have been a paladin probably won't so much either.

Shane Driscoll |

These are all really good. While I think I have my favorites, for now I'll list three things I like about each.
- Ethelinda Nepfey Botezatu, Human Cleric of Iomedae
What's good about Ethelinda IMO:
1 A pure divine caster. One with flexibility in spell selection that might prove very useful.
2 A connection to the city guard and our buddy Field Marshal Kroft
3 I like that she's a bit of a rebel by Iomedae standards ;)
- Kandru the Justicar, Tiefling Cleric of Abadar (Ecclesitheurge)
What's good about Kandru IMO:
1 Another Pure Divine Caster, spell flexibility plus given the archetype
2. Ties to Ishani who we know as a group to be a decent fellow
3. Has some good fiction bits on profile
- Mavis Dapper, Halfling Cleric of Chaldira Zuzaristan 5/Swashbuckler 1
What's good about Mavis IMO:
1. While 'weaker' in the Divine Department, five levels is nothing to sneer at and a bit more militant skill could be handy if a front line healer
2. Rich family history and ties to the city
3. Our group has an embarrassing lack of short ancestry representation.
- Candalia Umina, Human Oracle of Flame (Clouded Vision curse)
What's good about Candalia IMO:
1. Pure Divine. While not as flexible in some areas, does offer some firepower to make up for Shane's lack of evocation and can hit heals on repeat it looks like.
2. Victim of Lamm so a tie with many of the PCs there.
3. I like the fleshed out family details
I do have some MINOR concerns with each as well, but there's nothing that we can't work with.

Slang note:
Green-gilt New money; specifically, newly ennobled people. Not 'mushrooms,' who have only money and not titles.
Spill the beesum Splash money around. Building on GM Harrow's earlier 'beesum' for money, from shortened rhyming slang bees-and-honey.

Audria |

Hey all, apologies for dropping off. I'm catching up now.
I'm pretty much okay with whomever y'all decide. I'm not sure I've got the energy to review everyone's application, but I do trust y'all's judgement.

I feel vaguely guilty, whoever GM Harrow picks for our party's new Divine Character, I'm having this rush of 'oh boy oh boy, new puppy coming into the house' energy... and that's just rude I know. :o
Still, hope to make whoever feel welcome!

Thank you everyone who has already sent me their thoughts and feedback on the submissions. If you haven't done so, or have anything to do, please send it in a PM.
I'll make the choice tonight.

Elric Rivers |

Looks like we have a stong field and I’m sure whomever gets picked will be a good fit.
GM, I’ll send you a couple more thoughts via PM

Lania 'Shrike' Fordyce |

Good to hear from you, Audria.
Thanks GM, for opening recruiting promptly, welcoming our input, and generally being on the ball here. I'm sure whoever you choose will be a good fit too.
Well, might as well do my bookkeeping as I've been meaning to.

Thank you!
I posted my decision in the recruitment thread. To explain it a little bit, I had a preference for characters who can bring a little levity (unintentional in the case of Kandru), as we're dealing with some pretty heavy themes in this book especially, and I feel that things are starting to get a bit gloomy. So Kandru and Mavis were my preferred submissions in that regard, but I felt that Kandru had a broader connection to Korvosa.
Everyone had really good submissions, though! It was not an easy choice.

Audria |

Better you than me having to make that choice. Happy to have Kandru aboard!
And I'm looking forward to the next bit. I've been waiting for this encounter since we started.

Lania 'Shrike' Fordyce |

Welcome, Kandru! Happy to have you here.

Greetings, and thanks for having me! Apologies for the delay in posting - work got a bit out of hand.
I haven't been using the PbP medium for very long - as a matter of fact, Kittenmancer was my first PbP GM - but I've grown fond of its flexibility. Mechanically, Kandru's primarily focused on divine spellcasting - ordinarily, clerics get the proficiencies for reasonable frontline combat, but in large part due to her archetype, Kandru has neither the ability scores nor the capabilities for such a role. On the other hand, as a cleric of Abadar, she does get a handful of fun spells, and Kandru can hold her own in the skills she's invested in.

Kandru |

On that note, I'm afraid this is my first time joining an in-progress campaign - it feels like it would be best to wait for the GM to make formal character introductions, but at the same time, I don't want to keep the group waiting for me.

Shane Driscoll |

Good to have you aboard :)
Our characters will probably be finding Kandru shortly as we've tried to make it easy for the GM and ourselves but yes, best to wait for GM Harrow to decide how soon.
As for Kandru not being made for the frontline, it's all good. Welcome to the Squishy Tiefling Club ;)

Elric Rivers |

Welcome, Kandru - great to have you!
If you are new to PbP, I strongly recommend having a look at these two threads packed with tips and advice:
Doomed Hero's Guide to Play-By-Post gaming
Building a Better Doomed Hero: Painlord's Advanced Play-by-Post Play
Don't worry about combat - we have plenty of martial types in the party and the front lines can easily become a bit crowded. Just hang back and support while we do our thing.
I'm sure GM Harrow will get you introduced into the IC game shortly. In the mean time, feel free to ask about anything that comes to mind. There's a lot of info to process in this game, so let us know if you want a tl;dr intro to key NPS and events.

Apologies - I probably should have clarified. Kittenmancer was my first GM for a Kingmaker game a while back, but I've actually been playing PbP for about two years now. I've been trying to get caught up on the gameplay thread, but I appreciate your offer regardless.

Kandru |

I also thought I'd bring up a small point - it's been mentioned in the talk with Ishani that clerics of Abadar have to charge for their spells and such, but I certainly wouldn't want to make the party pay full market price for the basic element of my character's class - I think I've come up with a solution, but I wanted to run it by everyone else.
From what I understand, Abadaran Justicars are temple guards, possibly doubling as healers/clerics for the city watch. If the Justicars are working with the watch, then presumably, there's some sort of arrangement by which they can cast spells in the course of their duties - if it's amenable to you, would you be willing to handwave it, say that Kandru is able to cast spells on a discretionary basis while in pursuit of her investigation, which at the moment involves the Queen's Physicians and can easily segue into the main plot of the AP? It doesn't force a retcon of anything currently in the game, but at the same time, it also means that I can play a contributing member of the party without having the group tithe thousands of sails to the Bank on a daily basis.

Audria |

Works for me.
Besides, Audria could always bust out the puppy-dog eyes of doom.

Kandru |

First post is up. I do apologize for the wall of text - I'm afraid I got a bit carried away. Rest assured most of my posts won't be quite this verbose.

Audria |

No worries. You're not the only one guilty of getting carried away. Besides, part of the fun (for me anyway) is the creative writing aspect. ;)

Shane Driscoll |

It's all good! I know Shane's gotten wordy in both IC chatter and in the posts I make for him .
You're in the right place for that :)

Audria |

Hmmm, how to bring up Audria's like of swashbuckling tales with Kandru. I have a feeling the two of them are going to be good friends.
