Fizz, Evindyl and Piotr hear the commotion, but can't see it as it's a few streets away. No one is looking at you right now, so it's a perfect time to either retreat and rejoin your fellows or find a place to hole up. You happen to be standing in front of Drelev's one and only brothel.
"Oh my goodness! What luck! I worked at a House of Fulfillment on Jalmeray; it is important work maintaining people's mental health. Did you want to wait here for a moment gentlemen?"

Looking to Evindyl and Piotr, then looking to the Brothel in front of us, wincing, "Well, its as good a place as any, a regular tavern would probably be better, I'd rather try to figure out an idea of how we're gonna resolve this mess without someone overhearing,"

Piotr looks back and forth between his two companions after he realizes that they are suggesting entering the nearby brothel.
"Ahhh ... certainly! I guess," he states. "Though won't the proprietor suspect something if we ... ahh ... say ... ask for a room for ourselves?"
"Though, maybe the place has a parlor, or the like, where we could talk quietly."
Piotr sweeps his cloak back as he walks towards the brothel's door. He's trying to remember how much coin he has with him, in case they have to pay to simply enter the place.
As the martial members of the company flee the encounter, the more diplomatic members tuck into the Velvet Corner, Drelev's only gambling hall and brothel. A number of off-duty soldiers and other layabouts lounge on cushions with scantily-clad women and play cards or dice.
You are greeted by a strikingly beautiful woman with long dark hair and wearing a large number of daggers. She wears a leather dog collar with the brass image of a wasp. She regards you with a dazzling smile. "Welcome to the Velvet Corner. Relaxation and pleasure and fine drinks. What do you gentlemen need?"

"Milady, you will forgive us? I should have known this would be a House of Calistria; I worked with the holy women of the wasp for many years on Jalmarey. I am not a rich man, but may I tithe my last piece of platinum to you? It would mean so much to all three of us."
Evin bows deeply to the beautiful woman, reaches into his pocket and pulls out the aforementioned platinum.
The woman smirks at Evindyl's offer. "I'm no priestess, but I'll take your coin if you'll take refreshment and maybe the companionship of some of my girls."
To Fizz she says "We're not an inn, Little Master. But a bath and food might be arranged.
Alister, Aristu, Mikhail and Esteban ride pell-mell out of town. The guards, mostly afoot, let them go, though a few arrows nip at their heels as they pound up the road to the north.

Once out of sight of the enemy, Sir Esteban slowly reigns in and signals the others to stop.
Gazing back at the fortified town, Esteban shook his head.
"Well, if nothing else, we were a tremendous distraction for our other companions."
He felt his moderate wound.
"Ow."

Piotr looks around the room as he listens to Evindyl barter with the proprietor of this establishment. His companion is driving a pretty good bargain, considering the situation in this town. "I think peasants make more sense. We could be people coming looking for safety from the trolls who have dispersed and are just roaming now. Someone they would overlook. We just need to get in and link up with the others. Then we can assess the situation and see where to go from there."
"I think it would be prudent to find somewhere safe out here for the horses. They will be on the look out for us, and it will be easier to sneak in without them." Mikhail says.
Evindyl, Fizz and Piotr have charmed the Calistrian madame of Drelev's only brothel. But not as much as Evindyl might have wanted.
She tucks the two platinum into her tight leather bustier and gives Evindyl a smile. "Talk, sir, is welcome. I do not handle the companionship. But your coin has earned you your choice of rooms and other companions."
"Come. Let us talk while rooms and meals are prepared for you."
In a large and comfortable parlor pleasant-looking women bring you drinks, food and smiles, then leave at the madame's nod. You are alone with her.
"I am Satinder Morne," she says. "You are no ordinary travelers, that is plain. Did you have something to do with the excitement in the city just now?"

RE-ENTERING THE CITY
Aristu has made himself, his brother Alister, Mikhail and Esteban look like peasant refugees and together the four have made their way to the unfinished walls of Drelev. A very alert set of eight armed guards stops them a hundred yards beyond those walls.
"Halt! Begone, you lot! We've no need of your sort in town. Besides, the town is closed, by order of the Baron!"

Looking at the others, shrugging before joining the Madame in a private room, "Myself, well I'm a Desnan from Varisia, always wandering around, visiting far flung towns and offering my services as needed to protect those in need of protecting. Seems like there was quite a commotion earlier, are you guys attacked by bandits often?"

Alister whines at the guard pitifully. "Closed?! By why? We need help and a place to stay! Trolls came and destroyed our homes as they fled something! We need a place to stay and food. Please, sir!"
He sudden seems like he has an idea. "We can work for our fill! Mend a door or clean a stall. I'm sure the Baron would want more workers in his city."

Piotr clears his throat before speaking.
"We did hear that commotion. It seemed like some brigands, I don't know, since we were busy dealing with the guards at the gate. We managed to clear the gates, anyway, before too much occurred," he finishes.
"It's unusual for bandits to take on a city of this size. What has been going on to stir things up like that?"
"Lady Morne, my name is Evindyl ... but please, call me Evin. I know I said before that I am far from my home, and thus my gratitude that you have made me welcome; I could tell it was more than the platinum. Foreignors are NOT welcome everywhere, and I really would like to repay all of your graciousness, when you are willing. Myself I am skilled at 'companionship' as I said, but since my time at the monastary, I am also skilled in protection. Please know that I will not let any harm come to you as long as I am able. My friends bear witness."
Satinder looks at you, clearly uncertain what to believe. "The city is under the thumb of soldiers from Pitax, who are themselves controlled by the Numerian tribes, the Tiger Lords. The Baron is holed up in his castle, they say, terrified of offending the wrong group. Either Pitax or the barbarians could remove him from power with ease and he knows it."
"The rest of us wait and watch. The Pitax guards are boors and thugs, but the Tiger Lords are savages. They say they're out there in those hills, but no one knows what they're doing."

Nodding along with her story, sipping on some water, "Sounds like this Baron is really stuck between a rock and a hard place, the city too I guess. I doubt most of the regular folk care who controls what as long as there is relative peace, yeah?"
Nibbling on some food before continuing, "I'm sure a fair amount of the town guard visits your establishment, how many guards can it reasonably take to protect this city?"

Satinder regards Fizz and he perceives that she sees more in him that he wanted to let on.
"This city cannot be protected. It has no walls and the soldiers of a foreign power walk its streets. They are drunkards and louts for the most part, but with decent officers. There may be forty Pitaxian men holding the city for now, but the Tiger Lords are numberless, they say."

Alister bows his head, trying to keep his eyes low. "Many thanks, sir. Do you know where we might find a place to sleep for just a few coppers? Or maybe in exchange for work?"
He waves the group to follow him and then makes his way into the city. He tries to find a passer-by and bumps into them. "Oh, pardon me! We've just recently arrived. Do you know why the guard seem so surly? Is the city in danger?"

Fizz, realizing he has maybe let on a little more than he intended with his line of questioning, unsure whether this Madame can truly be trusted, "Has anyone seen these Tiger Lord's? Do they make regular visits to the city or. . ." pausing looking at the others with him, before continuing "perhaps are they just a convenient reason for Pitaxian soldier's to occupy this fine Fort in the name of protection?"

Esteban follows along, just trying to keep his head down.
He tries to observe the people about in the streets. Are they oppressed, starving, wealthy, freedom loving? What are they like?
Society:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Satinder leans forward, making her tight leather corset shift in interesting ways.
"The Tiger Lords are real enough. They were encamped on the plain not a month ago and their vicious leader Armag killed nineteen men out on the street, just to show he meant business. And those witches he had with him scared me worse than the army. Nasty old hags."
"But one morning they just marched off into the hills and haven't returned. The Pitaxians say they're in charge, but you can see that it's a front. They're more scared of the Numerians than any one."
Turning to Piotr, she says "Until the city is safe from the Tiger Lords, there'll be no trade and little custom. The Velvet Corner is doing well because we sell something the mercenaries want to spend their coin for. Just wait until nightfall. This place will be packed."
Asking around, Alister learns that the city is under the thumb of the nation of Pitax, and that the guards are numerous and well-armed, if not exactly well-trained. The people are not starving, but they're not flush with money, either. Given the vast expansion of Stagfell (your capital), the sad and unfinished state of Fort Drelev is a bit surprising.
"Things are bad," one woman says. "First it was the boggard raids. Then the baron sold us out to bandits and barbarians, and now he and his favorites never come out of Drelev Keep. They leave the mercenaries to do what they want by day, and at night, vicious giants patrol the streets!"
Another townsman laments that "Business continues during the day, but no one’s buying anything. The tavern and brothel are doing well, but mostly just because of the mercenaries in town. Shipments of food come in every week or so from Pitax, but most of that goes to the guards or up to the keep. The common folk have to beg or scavenge what they can."

Piotr thinks for a moment before replying.
"The leader of the barbarians ... this Armag ... did he duel these men? Or was it more of an execution?," he asks.
After the woman responds, he asks another question. "What about the women was so nasty and frightening?"
Piotr agrees with the woman's sentiment ... trade requires trust and developed relationships. This invasion would thoroughly deter any merchant caravans from passing through the Stolen Lands.
"The leader of the barbarians ... this Armag ... did he duel these men? Or was it more of an execution?," he asks.
"It was bloody slaughter. He just dragged leaders and merchants out into the street and murdered them with his big sword."
Piotr Denisov wrote:

"They were creepy. They delighted in the pain and suffering of others." Satinder touches the wasp symbol she wears. "Causing pain to one's enemies I understand. But this was just...sadistic. They were Gyronna's women, the Black Sisters."
Piotr previously dealt with a cult of Gyronna in Stagfell. Gyronna is a goddess known as the Angry Hag. Her priestesses are renowned for their ability to foster hatred and turn friend against friend and are said to be responsible for the fall of the city of Heibarr in the River Kingdoms.

Hearing this news, sets Fizz back, he hadn't initially believed the claims of numerian barbarians terrorizing a small town like this, "I apologize madam, I think I need to get some air. "That is terrible," Piotr replies.
"Gyronna's women are terrible. I had heard that there were some cultists of Gyronna in that upstart duchy ... kingdom ... whatever, but they were run off."
He pauses before continuing.
"Might it be possible to get some supper? It's been a long day," he asks.
"My companions and I will be traveling soon, maybe even tomorrow. And we don't want to run into those Tiger Lords. Is there someone that you would recommend who could tell us what parts to avoid, if we do not want to be delayed by the barbarians?"
Our Kingmaker game has just finished Book Two. We're going to run "Queen of the Fellnight Realm" and then move into Book Three. This is a great place to jump into the story. After "Fellnight Realm", one of our regular players is leaving us so we'd like to get new player onboard now. That'll move us up to six players and then back down to five when he leaves.
We're looking for ONE player for a long-term PBP game. The character who will eventually be killed in hideous ways retire is a fighter, but your character need not be.
HOW TO APPLY
All I want at this point is your statement of interest and maybe a character idea. Some idea of your experience is nice, but new players are also welcome if they can commit to a long-term game. If you've never played a PBP game, you may want to try a shorter module or PFS scenario first. It's definitely not for everyone.
I DO NOT want full characters. As a player, there's nothing worse than developing a full character that doesn't get picked. As a GM there's nothing worse than choosing characters when it's the player who will make or break the game.
There is no deadline yet, but recruitment will be open for a few days at least.
WHO WE ARE
I've been GMing since 1977. I've been running PBP games since 1995 and run many games here on the Paizo boards. Check out my games to get an idea of my style and longevity.
Our players are all very experienced, but more importantly they like to role-play. We hope you do, too.
Hi Tarondor, I’m definitely interested in this. I’ve been here about five years and have Howard of 18,000 posts. I played the first book of Kingmaker and the DM left.
Could you give an idea of the existing group and what it needs most?
The king's a human bard. His half-brother is a human sorcerer. There is a human wizard, a human warpriest and a human fighter. The fighter will be leaving. I'd say they have arcane magic covered, but could use almost anything else.
I'm a bit down on ranged combat and heavily min-maxed characters lately.
Okay, here are some thoughts. I could run with any of these:
Dwarf Paladin, front-line indestructible holy warrior, this drunken dwarf seeks to redeem himself after a wasted youth.
Human Druid, front-line melee animal form brawler, he is looking for an untamed place to call his own, and believes the end of current civilization is at hand.
Halfling Ranger, mounted roc-rider and daredevil, this adrenaline junky needs to find the most extreme challenges the wilderness can offer.
Elf Occultist, finesse combatant with a slew of tricks, this elf, once left for dead, seeds redemption while trying to keep some dangerous artifacts from controlling him.
Half-orc Barbarian, religious heretic who tortures himself as much as his enemies, he seeks inner peace through suffering and to bring harsh salvation to the Stolen Lands.
Let me know if any of these ideas sound better than others.
I have a couple of ideas. Human Swashbuckler She's a young Talden who thinks her family would be high on the nobility food chain if they were still in Taldor. How dare her great, great grandfather disgrace the family and be forced to move to Brevoy. She's heard there's a way to become noble a new kingdom to the south.
Half Elf OccultistShe's a non acknowledged child of one of the noble houses of Brevoy. She's interested in gaining knowledge from places that have been closed to her. She's also heard there are old weapons in the ruins in the Stolen Lands, and wants to explore them for occult items. She's heard there's a chance to become part of the ruling party of the new kingdoms that are appearing to the south. Having power like that would make it easier to get into the libraries she wants to use.
I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with an Ex-Cleric, using the Channeler of the Unknown archetype. I'm thinking of a Chelish-raised ex-Asmodean priest whose morality shifted gradually towards neutrality as he was assigned away from Cheliax.
I’d probably submit a human Druid that could do a little bit of everything as a jack of all trades. Help with some melee, a little spellcasting, and provide some healing. With six party members, I’d probably go for a domain instead of an animal companion.
His motivation would be as a possible guide for the explorers, trying to protect the current animal inhabitants, and to punish any baddies in the area.
I’ve been on this board about a decade. I’m a regular poster with somewhere near 38,000 posts and I’ve had several long running game where. Even competed an abridged CotCT game here! I am active, and I hope have a decent rep with anyone I’ve gamed with on the Paizo boards. I’d be willing to take any suggestions and run with them. Thanks for the consideration.
His character concept is that he's a bit of a goofball; while he's supposed to go out and find and destroy evil over all else, he is so excited about ancient ruins, lost civilisations and the like (basically anything involving adventuring and going off the beaten path) that he gets constantly side-tracked. Luckily, these interests tend a align a lot of the time. When it doesn't, it at times tends to get him in trouble with the order. Nothing will stop him from writing his exciting memoirs!
Actual build idea: a group buffer/frontline combatant who extensively uses shield other, good hope and other means to actively protect the party, often at the cost of his own saftey.
I would be interested in this. I haven't gotten a chance to be involved in anything related to kingmaker and I really regret that!
Some concepts that I have been wanting to try...
Vivisectionist Alchemist (race to be determined). I think I could squeeze and interesting reach build out of this, which has the potential to be pretty fun.
Bloodrager (race to be determined). Something I have never played. I haven't looked closely at individual options but I would consider going dragon disciple because... why not kill two "never played" birds with one stone?
I have been around Paizo for a little more than a year now, and have a fair bit of pbp experience going back to 3.0 days. The more I have played here, the more I find myself being drawn to longer campaigns with consistent players/characters. I currently am GMing a module, and have two different characters in 1-7 level tracks with steady groups. I am loving it enough to seriously consider stepping way from all PFS for the time being.
yeah, I'd like to submit a paladin of Shelyn concept, or some type of frontliner if the idea of a paladin is too "grating" I know paladins have a bad rep for being no fun in many groups (even though that is ridiculous)
I actually have a rough draft already for the paladin, but I won't post it unless you would like to see it.
So I am revisiting my two suggestions above and starting to put together some of the personality/character/story associated with each. Before I do that though, I am curious as to if this is PFS races only- or if things are a little more open.
If you are still looking for a player, I would like to throw my hat into the ring, so to speak.
I have a dwarven paladin named Jarkralzak who I could level up to take part in these adventures. He is a taciturn but affable middle age dwarf who wields the Dorn-Dergar.
He has a great interest in any dwarven ruins and has a background as a stone mason and siege specialist.
I think I would like to develop the following two characters:
Half-orc bloodrager/dragon disciple (dependent on a GM ruling about Blood of Dragons functioning with blood rager). Personality is very short short sighted, generalized by over-indulgence and lack of longterm vision. He would rather enjoy the now than worry about the future. He naturally gravitates to people who do the opposite- allowing him the most freedom without immediate consequence.
Catfolk (hopefully not too wacky?) Alchemist. She has always been an outcast, and has learned that she has to depend on herself only. Her independent streak could easily be construed as "bull headed". She generally looks out for her own interest first, but is smart enough to see where relationship with others can be beneficial to her own goals.
About Me
I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e via Forgotten Realms novels in 2007. I've been playing since then, though I've had pretty rotten luck getting into a long term game. To demonstrate, I have participated in 36 campaigns that had at least one session or otherwise properly started, of which 5 ran to completion, and only 2 of which were long term campaigns, the earliest of which I joined in 2014. The first, a VOIP D&D 4e (bleh) campaign, had been running for 13 months when I joined, and continued to run for 21 more months thereafter, on weekly sessions typically lasting about 4 hours. The second, a F2F PF 1e campaign, had been running for only 2 months before I joined, and thereafter ran for 27 months, on bi-weekly sessions typically lasting 6 to 10 hours. I can provide links as necessary to the former, but obviously not for the latter.
Ultimately, I'm a player with lots of practical experience at low level, but only a little at higher level. When I create a character, I generally plot out progression to the full extent, so I have an academic understanding for higher level mechanics, but only a little practical experience therein. From the Robin Laws' 7 Player Archetypes, I generally fluctuate between Tactician and Storyteller, depending on the scenario. I like internally consistent worlds, enjoy solving challenges through feats of logic, and am somewhat irked when the dice ruin a perfectly sound plan, but I'm not so far gone that I completely lose sight of characterization or otherwise make decisions (or expect others to make decisions) which are tactically beneficial but don't fit their character. I do, however, have a tendency to compromise characterization in the pursuit of moving the story forward; I think the PbP format will help me curb this by giving me more time to come up with ways that I can help move the story forward without having to compromise characterization. I'll also be up front in saying that I like having secrets from the other players, and I'm not adverse to starting internal conflict within the party, but I will disclaim that I will strive not to do anything to purposefully upset any of the other players; my goal in sometimes pushing internal conflict is to produce interesting narrative, not because I enjoy inciting strife or anything.
Character Ideas
I've made a handful of characters over my career of trying to play D&D, and I've generally noticed that I gravitate away from full casters. Don't really know why. Only one of the characters I've created has gotten to run to completion (by sheer bad luck, both campaigns I joined that went on to run to completion, which I joined relatively close together, had the same very specific needs that precluded my other character ideas), so I'd probably not want to run a Rogue again, but beyond that, I'm pretty flexible. I can be more specific upon request.
Sometimes, you have an embarrassment of riches. There are so many great players here that the brain-dead part of my brain says "start a new campaign and recruit 'em all!"
Then I look at my two jobs, my two kids, my wife, my home campaign and my six online campaigns and I slap myself back into reality. ....Maybe when my Dragon's Demand game ends...
No, seriously, I've spent a lot of time thinking about taking on two, but the game is just better off with one and that's what I'm going to stand on. Thank you so much to all who applied.
I have started to peruse the Guide, and look forward to creating a character that will fit in well.
It will take me a few days to finish my character background (at least to the standard of this campaign!). I had ankle surgery last Monday, and though I'm getting back into things, it's been rougher than I thought. I should be able to finish up by Wednesday morning at the latest, and should then be able to dive in head-first.
The character I would like to use is Grimnir Hammerhand. I actually played this character through level 7 via The House on Hook Street module. I was thinking I could incorporate that into his backstory...there are some traumatic things he might want to get away from by heeding the call to the Stolen Lands. It would also give me some background I could call on so my character will feel as developed as the others. I will need to change a few things on gear, etc., that he had previously.
So we get half average wealth by level?
I'd be happy to consider any additional ideas that fit well with the campaign or give me some background with any of the PCs or NPCs, but here's the nutshell backstory:
As a young dwarf, Grimnir rejected the faith and honor of his family and wasted his youth drinking, gambling, and brawling. After hitting a series of new lows, he eventually joined the military and is a veteran of long campaigns. Sometime early in his career, he became an officer. Only following orders of his mercenary leaders, Grimnir himself routed, leaving his men behind to die. He often talks about "his brothers" and how much he wants their spirits to forgive him for what he has done. The dwarf turned to religion and gained a new-found faith in Torag. Haunted by his past and returning from his military campaign, Grimnir was caught up with a small band to stop a sinister spider cult in Old Korvosa, and developed a fear of insects and loathing for Shiver. He seems to suffer from some kind of post-traumatic stress from the bad things that have happened to him.
Grimnir seeks to escape his past, and turns to the only things that help him look past the pain: Torag, and a fine dwarves ale, usually to excess. Perhaps what Grimnir needs most is to get far, far away from his past, and from civilization for that matter.
On another note, I did play through Chapter 1 of this campaign with a different character. I have no idea what happens the rest of the campaign, but do have some concept of what happens through the Stag King, etc.
I'm looking forward to this! Thanks for the invite!
Fair Notice though, I've played through the Owlcat's Kingmaker game on the PC. But I love kingmaker, I have like 500 hours in the game. Would love the chance to play in it in a tabletop experience!
Looking at your current party, it looks like you have most of the rpg bases covered!
Y'alls bard has great skills and utility
between the Sorcerer and the Wizard Arcane spells are on lock
Your fighter looks like a great front liner with out of combat heals on lock.
Maybe an Oracle for divine spell casting? Could also see maybe a Ranged Ranger type character, if it worked better in PF2e I'd love an Erastil Champion but champion just doens't really jive with longbows.
Aight, I'll throw my hat into the race full, I did a quick little test build for a:
Halfling Cosmos Oracle; "Fizz Moonberry"
Quick backstory, he always venerated Desna but felt like the church and religion were too stuffy, he dedicated his life to visiting as many Desnan shrines as possible as a humble traveler, through that time, he came upon some kids being threatened by a bear, Desna bestowed upon him Oracular powers in a moment of greatness to save the child travelers.
Since then he has continued his pilgrimage across Golarion to visit shrines, help travelers in need, and experience the natural world.
Glad to see such interest. I hate making a full-blown character only to have the GM pick someone else, so please don't submit full characters. All I'd like from prospective players is a brief idea of the sort of character you'd like to play. It can include (brief) background details or just mechanical details, whatever is the thing that interests you in the character. If you're hoping to play something unusual, link to the rules in the Archives of Nethys, please.
Why don't we put in a deadline of Sunday the 20th?
'Sunny' (As she prefers to be called by her friends) is a cheery, happy soul. Having grown up innitally amongst her kin in the far off islands. She's been about the world exploring the many ports and harbors. She and her companions have been exploring. Looking and listening for some where to settle another new colony of her kin.
N'so, a description o' th' kin 'Back home'. Island Elves of which she wus a part of would seem to be more 'Native' like. Simple hunter, gather-ers who might supplement things with a bit of 'natural' crop farming and other horticulture'l endeavors.
Now, bein' Native don't mean bein' Stoopid. *Frowns and waggles a warning finger at folks*
Since they're more like Seals then Fish, they'd be on goodly terms wi' th' Merfolks there abouts an' probably have good trade relations wi' 'em. As fer raiders an' such? Well, every community puts up with that sort o' folk in a fantasy setting, right (^.~) ?
Suny's (Elasandriel) kith and kin have been living on the edges of the sea from time immemorial. Whether it was exploring some new and pristine beach or scampering about the rigging of whatever sailing vessel was the fashion of the day. Being 'Of the sea and shore' are part of her nature.
Every day raiments: Some sort of webbing/net wrapped about her lithe tanned frame. Various shells, jewelry, stones, ivory act as both decoration and fasteners to hold her 'Dress' in place.
While about her hips a belt is draped, only small incidental seeming items adorn said simple heshian material (Wushu darts, her cestus when she's not wearing them. Her tonfa tucked across the small of her back)
Most of her 'Serious' gear is currenlty stowed away carefully in/on her saddle bags. That her saddle bags are currently mounted on her VERY large snek.
I'm thinking of a human Champion (Paladin) with the Cavalier Archetype.
Cast out by his corrupt ne'er do well aristo family, he hopes for a new start out in the wilderness.
- MontCestMoi
- Codanus
- Xrez
- Camris
- Evindyl
- Sunny (not sure of interest in PF2e)
For anyone that's interested, could I please get an idea of what you'd like to play and what attracts you to that idea? No need for a full character yet.
I'm interested in playing a Sylph Monk from the Isle of Jalmeray.
Being mostly Vudrani, his genie heritage puts him somewhat at odds with his culture and monastic life, so he sought out the hardships of the frontier as a way to challenge himself.
Now that he can fly for brief periods of time, he is the happiest he can imagine being and has redoubled his effots towards self-perfection.
