Worse.
Start with the base cost: 50 gp.
Then add masterwork: 300 gp.
Then add the bonuses (+1 enhancement and +1 guardian = +2): 8000.So the correct price of a +1 Guardian Greatsword is 8350 gp.
Okay, thanks for the breakout, I'll reference that formula going forward. If I take an earlier comment from Brandor about us splitting 5000 gp six ways, then I infer Edo has access to a total value of 833.33 GP.
I think he'll probably grab an emergency healing potion for those instances his comrades are otherwise engaged, and save the rest for his Guardian Greatsword at a later time.

Reveka Casovei |

Edo, healing is pretty much covered with Brandor, Reveka and Uhe if you want to put the coin into something other than a healing potion. :)

Uhe Stonethorn |

@Edo we really need to get you a masterwork greatsword; if not, a +1.
My opinion; but, you should be using Power Attack every time you swing, especially since you also have Furious Focus.
That grants you an extra +6 damage without any penalty on 1st attack.
Edo +8 2d6+10 for 1 attack each round will greatly allow us as a group to better handle these combats.
I apologies if out of line. I am only suggesting it, because You Can Do It!...lol!
I played a Fighter is our Core PFS Season 10. It was soo much fun!
EDIT: Edo
your Hp seem off? Fighter 4 should be Hp 40; or hp 44 if Favored Class bonus is +1hp?
Fighter=6 Con=3 FCB=1= 10/lvl x4=40+4(from 1st)=44hp

All correct statements! I will always welcome assistance. Not only have I forgotten more than I remember, but Tarandor play-by-post games are all I've been involved with since he and I used to gather together to play bi-weekly in his basement 10+ years ago.
Thank you for the audit, Uhe. Tomorrow morning I will correct everything you have pointed out and I will use Power Attack in the manner you described. I normally play a rogue-type.
*Edit*
I made the changes to his HP. Also, I welcome any pointers at playing a fighter. I get anxious every time we level up because there are so many options. I used to know what I was doing but no longer do since I, at best, am a D&D tourist these days. I no longer retain the proficiency I once had with the rulebooks. I used to not even need the PHB :)

Uhe Stonethorn |

Absolutely no worries. I chuckled at your PHB comment. Always abbreviation for the PHB, DMG, MM, UA...lol.
Hp is only 38? Trying to save a cure from Reveka! May be just your tagline needs updating?
Fighters are fun! Picture what you want Edo to do; let us know, and we can help with the mechanics.
I always tell my players; you just tell me what you want She-ra to do; and we shall get her there....eventually...lol.

Yeah... editing one's profile isn't really an edit if you don't click "save." :D
Fixed.

GM Tarondor |

I used to not even need the PHB :)
I sat down yesterday for my first face-to-face game, a board game called "Breakout:Normandy", which I consider the finest two-person old-school wargame ever written. I once knew every unit by heart and where each little hamlet in Normandy was, but after not having played for about eight years, I couldn't even remember half the rules.
As for D&D/Pathfinder, This is my thirteenth-ish edition of the game. I regularly try to apply rules that haven't been part of the game for decades.
Check it out - here's all the systems I GM'ed in this genre over the years. To say nothing of all the others I've played. I can't keep anything straight anymore!
1. OD&D White Box/Brown box (where I started) (1974)
2. D&D Red box/Blue box (1977)
3. D&D Moldvay Edition (1981)
4. AD&D (later called 1st edition) (1977)
5. AD&D 2nd Edition (1987)
6. D&D 3rd Edition (2000)
7. D&D 3.5 Edition (2003)
8. D&D 4th Edition (2007)
9. D&D 5th Edition (2010)
10. Pathfinder 1st Edition (2009)
11. Pathfinder 2nd Edition (2019)
12. Arcana Unearthed (2003)
13. Arcana Evolved (2005)
14. Fantasy Hero (1985)

Jayla* |

Thank you Torandor. I am. Doing two jobs for the next few weeks.

Reveka Casovei |

I’ll make a post in the next hour. Apologies, between work and Covid shot #2 side effects, I’ve been a little stretched/out of it.

Brandor Bulwark |

Congrats on getting vaccinated! Side effects should pass soon, but I hope by the time you read this, they have already passed.

Reveka Casovei |

Thanks, Brandor. The worst of the side effects have passed, which I’m grateful for. :)

Jayla* |

Have an awesome time at GenCon online.

Jayla* |

I usually use Roll 20, but Slides and discord would also work.

Reveka Casovei |

Sorry for Reveka's silence - her player's been unwell and her RL hectic.
I'll make an in-character post in the next couple of hours.

Reveka Casovei |

So, the plan is to go into town and get more magical supplies (or try to) before heading to the place where Aeterperax's bones are buried to see if they're still there?
GM: What time is it in game at present?

Reveka Casovei |

In all honesty, with everything going on in game, I’d forgotten about Maffei until the reminder.
Courtesy heads-up: I won’t have power at the house for most of the day (tomorrow), so my postings will be made in my evening.

GM Tarondor |

Right. I love certain aspects of Play-by-Post, but continuity can be a struggle. That's why I post a lot of information in the Campaign Tab and remind players of things I probably wouldn't if we were sitting around a table. It can feel a bit like railroading, but I prefer to think of it like serving as an auxiliary memory.

Little Liam |

Speaking of that...
"However, I am injured. The wall of light hurt me in a way I cannot explain, save to say that I am wearied and do not heal. I would be a better companion if I were healed."
She's not injured - she's been drained of levels. Only a restoration can help her.
So not only is she a likely companion, but we could restore her.

Uhe Stonethorn |

Shit; we're supposed to remember shit too!
I forget things all the time; both as a player and a GM...lol.
@ GM Tarondor I get what you mean about ending your PF1e run. I am starting to get so confused as to which rules to which games that I am involved in!
And, we play Starfinder biweekly!

Jayla* |

Uhe I understand totally. I have about at least four different game systems running around in my head.
So Jayla can use the Greatsword though not well. Can anyone else make use of it? If it had been the rapier of flame or something that would have been better. She's a finesse fighter.
I'd like to purchase a Cloak of Resistance +1 with my already earned gold. If we don't have a use for the entire 5K, I'd love to upgrade one of my kukri's to a +1 for 2K of the 5K. I don't want to take more than my share though.

Reveka Casovei |

Wasn't sure if I should rp the purchase of the darkwood buckler - but being it's a small town - I wasn't sure if there would be one to sell to us.

Sorry for my recent absence. I've been working overtime while preparing for a staggeringly difficult certification exam. The overtime seems to have passed but the studying has not so please know I'm running a race through knee-deep mud right now.
I'm going to fast forward anything from the gameplay thread here and just say that Edo would make handy use of the Greatsword. Unless there are protests, I am going to put it on his character sheet.
I see enough healings and restorations to go around so I think Edo is comfortable. Pretend like I was around to role play some of Edo's blustery and bordering-on-impolite comments.

Reveka Casovei |

I vote to fully heal Maffei's drain damage, as we promised her we would, and she would then consider us true allies and be willing (and at full power) to aid us at Dragonfen.
Reveka has lesser restoration as a spell and potion if we (the people of the party) require it.

Reveka Casovei |

Little Liam, doesn't Brandor have to roll checks to decipher the scroll and activate it? Restoration is a level 4 cleric spell and one Brandor can't cast at his current level. He doesn't have Read Magic either to decipher the scroll without making a spellcraft roll. (Unless the GM is handwaving all of this and Maffei can get the ability damage healing that she needs.)
So from the SRD, Brandor will need to:
* Decipher the Writing: The writing on a scroll must be deciphered before a character can use it or know exactly what spell it contains. This requires a read magic spell or a successful Spellcraft check (DC 20 + spell level). Deciphering a scroll is a full-round action.
* To have any chance of activating a scroll spell, the scroll user must meet the following requirements:
-- The user must have the spell on their class list.
-- The user must have the requisite ability score.
If the user meets all the requirements noted above, and his caster level is at least equal to the spell’s caster level, he can automatically activate the spell without a check. If he meets all three requirements but his own caster level is lower than the scroll spell’s caster level, then he has to make a caster level check (DC = scroll’s caster level + 1) to cast the spell successfully. If he fails, he must make a DC 5 Wisdom check to avoid a scroll mishap. A natural roll of 1 always fails, whatever the modifiers.
---Reveka has Read Magic and the Restoration spell on her class list. Of course the spell is of a higher level than she can currently cast, but she can roll the Caster level check. Or, she could help decipher the magic (via read magic) and read it to Brandor and then he could activate the scroll/s...

Uhe Stonethorn |

The material cost should already be included in the creation/cost of the scroll.
Scrolls

Reveka Casovei |

Caster Level check (DC 8): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Caster Level check (DC 8): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Caster Level check (DC 8): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
I made a check for each scroll... and placed it here not to clog up/confuse the current RP. It may also save time with the healing of Maffei's permanent ability drain once we sort out the diamond dust issue?
