^No, you're supposed to bust through the wall first!

Caller will be taking his leave of the group for the time being and Annea will be joining in his stead. Who knows what Jan's been up to?
In other news, chronicles may be found >>here<<. As always, please let me know if I need to make any corrections.
Serge, I think I still need a Day Job from you.

Serge cooks up a stew with rare hot peppers from deep within the Mwangi. The meal pays you a second visit a few hours later... with a vengeance.

Thank you for the chronicle.

He better have done that after his visit to the onsen. I'm not taking you back there again is you befouled the place!
@GM: Chronicle looks good. Thanks!

Meredith wants to
- upgrade her armor to +2 (3000 gp)

Frankie decided to bump his: You don't even seem to notice it but its really there' buckler to +1. Saving most of his pennies for a big purchase (3-4k) after the next scenario!
Also picked up a potion of heroism for a job well done on his last pathfinder mission.

Is that cinnamon cocoa?

Mint cocoa or bust~
*edit* Still working on scenario prep for Pallid Plague; I've got a fair bit of it done but early season scenarios are a lot more...vague...in several respects so I'm trying to flesh some things out a bit more and that's slowing me down.

![]() |

Oh no way on cinnamon cocoa. I agree with the GM: mint or regular.

Too funny. I'd like to think Serge had the foresight not to do such a thing, but ya never know...

Hey folks! In case you've yet to see it, the official announcement for Gameday IX is here! GM some games or wait with bated breath for player sign-ups to open! Or both! :D

Okay folks, I've got our next scenario prepped and ready to go. That said, tonight starts my work weekend and so I'm going to wait until Tuesday to get us rolling. Hopefully that works for everyone! As always, thank you for your patience.

Hooray! :D

First post of the new scenario is up!
Slide links in the campaign header as well as in my GM tagline have been updated. Please check that your information on Slide #2 is all correct and that you are where you want to be in the marching order on Slide #3.

Vosk Lazav |

Your cover slide art is on point, yet again!

GM Ladile |

Thank you!
Hands-down my favorite part of scenario prep is making my slides and tokens. I queue up some background music (usually from a video game) or something on YT at low volume and get to work cutting, pasting, and trawling Google Image searches and/or DeviantArt for images. Of course I also do the same when I'm doing more general prep (pre-writing & formatting 'box text' posts, making notes to myself, etc.) so the whole process turns into sort of a zen thing once I'm really in the zone and can work uninterrupted for a while.
The cover slides in particular are fun as I like to find something that either represents the 'spirit' of the scenario or perhaps one particular fantastical or atmospheric locale featured within it.
Using music for certain scenes or battles is also fun but (as anyone who's played multiple games with me has seen) isn't something I feel compelled to do for every scenario. I usually do it when I'm reading a section, picturing it in my imagination, and can naturally 'hear' a particular piece of music being played were the scene being presented in a video game, a tv show, or movie. The bit of music I used over in TL;DR's Shores of Heaven run when you guys first arrived is a good example of that.

Fun Fact: There are a series of old Paizo modules (and by old I mean 'use the 3.5 ruleset') that take place in and around the town of Falcon's Hollow. They are:
Hollow's Last Hope
Crown of the Kobold King
Revenge of the Kobold King
Carnival of Tears
Hungry are the Dead
I've never played any of them - and there are some level gaps so you'd need some filler adventures between a couple of the modules - but it might make for a fun side-project/mini-campaign one day :)

Given the caliber of writing ability in this group and the content of the last several in-game posts I'd totally follow The Romantic Escapades of the League of Kick-Ass Dudes.

*blushes* at the compliment. Not at the content.

Unless someone gooses Frankie to buy something particular to prep for the mission he won't. He does have an old antiplague and antitoxin from a previous mission on hand.
Frankie needs guidance sometimes.

![]() |

There are all kinds of goodies that I am sure Frankie could figure out as being useful... as long as they are covered in chocolate.

![]() |

Sorry guys, had a really long day yesterday and was just to exhausted to post.

![]() |

Ya, certainly some potions. Mostly I'd rule out the practical items, or I have throughout his career: camping gear, cold weather gear, etc.
The more 'fun' stuff I do consider.

I just wanted to mention, this party kicks ass. I'm having a lot of fun and a lot of witty banter already. Obviously this scenario will cater to my interests but even in other ones the GM sets up scenarios in a way that really drags me in. I realized Meredith doesn't do well with honoring the dead or restless spirits, and I wouldn't have thought of that until the GM's descriptions teased it out of me.
So hats off to all of you.

GM Ladile |

Well, you ARE the League of Kick-Ass Dudes, after all ;)
But I concur. Both of my long-term tables are great and it's always a delight to just watch either one RP among themselves even when there's little to no input from my end.

Vosk Lazav |

I think the whole "fish out of water" angle is fun though too! Obviously, you want to be in your element more often than out, but defining your character based on what they aren't is useful and fun too :) at least it is for me anyways :P

GM Ladile |

Dang Vosk, you own your own ship? Pretty sweet!
Out of curiosity, will you be using it to travel?

Vosk Lazav |

Vosk has come into some wealth ;) He has two chronicles from the Skull & Shackles AP, which, among other things, allowed him to get a ship! :D
I imagine the ship is built for deep water/ocean voyages, not going up rivers. So at least for this trip, he will not be using the Lushest Eclair.

Niiiiice.
And fair enough, just wanted to check!
As a general heads up posting for this group can be a little more hit-or-miss (on average) on the weekends than TL;DR since we've got several folks who tend be busy doing other stuff during that time - especially during these warmer months.
That said, I'm going to go ahead and get to work on a Gameplay post now to move us forward a little bit!

I taught my sons to play D&D 3.0 from a box set back in 2000. We played throughout their school years, but when the oldest went off to college, and the younger was in HS, we pretty much stopped.
I just spent a few days with my younger and showed him some posts from a couple of my PBP games. When he found out that he could still play PBP with only a post a day, he got really excited. (His job, similar to mine, doesn't keep regular hours.) Then we talked about Starfinder (obviously a new thing since they left the scene), and he got even more excited.
He's making his first SFS character now, and as soon as my level 2 is done with the PBP he's in, we'll be looking for a game we can join together. (!!!)) I'm pretty excited that he's getting back into it, and that we might be able to play together again!
(Just wanted to share.)

GM Ladile |

That's wonderful!
Since you obviously want to play together I think your best bet would be to ask over at Castamir's if someone would be willing to GM a newbie-friendly game for the two of you. Normally folks are good about stepping up to fulfill such requests, though with Gameday IX due to start in less than a month there might be less bandwidth available for such requests than usual.
You could also try directly asking a GM that you've enjoyed playing under before; this has the benefit of avoiding potential awkwardness that might arise from going the 'general request' route and getting a bite from someone that you don't really want for a GM.
And of course you could try to get into a Gameday IX game together, though that might be hard to finagle before seats fill up.

Meredith, the picture you have linked on your profile of you and Denair is incredibly helpful for my headcanon. Just letting you know, somebody has looked at and appreciated it! :)

GM Ladile |

Hey folks, as a heads-up Serge's player is going to need to step out for this scenario so we'll be proceeding with just the five of you instead of worrying about finding a Special Guest Star 6th.
I'll try and get a gameplay update (or two, if needed) done very shortly.

![]() |

Oh no's!! Who will go to the onsen with me now?
Seriously, I hope things turn out okay.

GM Ladile |

Vosk seems to enjoy the finer things in life; he'd probably go with you :V
And nothing majorly wrong, just a combo of busy with RL and a bit of PbP burnout I believe.

Vosk Lazav |

I hope it works out as well as it can for them!
Unrelated, I just finished the Pathfinder Tales "Queen of Thorns." Meredith, any relation there?

![]() |

Surprisingly, no. I thought up Meredith long before. Luckily said queen makes a great selection of avatars for Meredith!

![]() |

Sorry for the extended absence. Life should start returning to a bit more normalcy now. I'll see what I can't dream up to keep a young boy distracted by in a logging camp.

Vosk Lazav |

Same, best of luck! :)
EDIT: Massee, have you ever explained Frankie before? Is he an immature Halfling? Is he a "young" Human that is mechanically a Halfling? Is his immaturity all an act? Something else? Feel free to ignore if that's part of what you're going for, I'm just curious!
