For the record, I was willing to get a visit from an emissary or something.

I'm on Night #3 of 7 off from work but I've got a lot happening during this time such as painting, cleaning, errands, plus social obligations all of Saturday and a fair chunk of Sunday. Hence the sluggishness. But you've not been forgotten.
Still better than work, though. I like what I do but after the Sat/Sun/Mon shifts I had my attitude going home Tuesday morning was best summed up as, "Smell ya later, don't call me."

GM Ladile |

Diggin' these posts, my friends!
(And don't worry, you'll get more of an answer to 'Well what exactly happens to Vondrella?' when I do my last wrap-up post.)
I'm going to go ahead and get the game reported and start working on chronicles. Please give me your Day Job checks if you haven't already, as well as any questions or actions related to Faction Journal stuff. Hoping to have everything done for you in a day or two :)

As they travel back to Almas, Quang Chi forages for herbs and wild mushrooms for Auntie Chao's Tien grocery. He'd give them to her, but she insists on giving him a little "walking-around" money for them. And besides he brought her another gift too...
Survival for Day Job: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
More on the "other gift" in his next gameplay post.
Oh, c'mon, get your heads out of the gutter. She's his late father's friend. (◔ д◔)

![]() |

Profession (Farmhand): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Meredith notices a few more workers at her farm. Or, at least the evidence of new workers. Tiny critters who stay out of sight and handle minor tasks the bigguns seem to miss.

Vosk Lazav |

Vosk uses his newfound connections with Fey royalty and some random lumber back-water to weasel his way into more power in Taldor... Something about a temporary monopoly on lumber imports...
Nobility, DC 18: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36 GM, would you mind marking that I'll be crossing off two boxes on his "Rising Star" boon, please? Eight more boxes left :D This is in place of a dayjob.

![]() |

Day Job: Sleight of Hand: 10 + 15 = 25
There's gotta be SOME neat and rare candies to get his hands on from a logging camp.. or maybe from the fey party...!>!>!

Hello,
I wanted to start off with an apology and an explanation for my absence. Last week we had a family emergency that mandated a rapid and unplanned road trip. I left without my laptop or tablet and didn't have any way to post. Sorry again, but I am back now.

![]() |

I'm just glad to see you're back, Annea.
Don't mind us, we just got invited to a fey party.

![]() |

So, the gang's all here.
What do we do next?

Vosk Lazav |

I think we're waiting for sheets/closing post now, right?

GM Ladile |

@Annea - No worries and I'm glad to see you back. I hope all is well with you and yours.
Okay folks, you can find your chronicles --> here. Please look them over and let me know if there's anything that needs to be changed.
Apologies for the delays. All is well on my end but I've admittedly been distracted with work + a bunch of RL projects ranging from painting to getting supplies/stuff ready for Cat #2 to catching up on a bunch of overdue health-related appointments.
I know I'm not the only one here that's been busy/preoccupied with RL stuff so...headcount. Is everyone more or less here and good to go with our next scenario in a few days?

Vosk Lazav |

Chronicle looks good to me! Thank you! :)

![]() |

I need to level up, but otherwise I should be good to go.

![]() |

Still here. Chronicle looks good.
Do you think you'll be looking for someone to replace Serge?

![]() |

Chronicle looks superb thanks.
Frankie is always up for adventure, and I myself would welcome the continued distraction of fun and adventure.

GM Ladile |

Do you think you'll be looking for someone to replace Serge?
Most likely, as Serge's player is still cutting way back on their Paizo activities. I've got one or two people in mind that I can ask.
Unless you guys would prefer to continue with just the 5 of you?

Meredith's Eidolon |

Hey GM, I'm gonna purchase the Pathfinder Pouch and I'd like to purchase a masterwork teapot.
A teapot costs 1 sp, and the Masterwork Transformation spell says it would cost about 50 gp more. Would 50.1 gp sound like a good price?
Basically I'm trying to figure out how much a teapot offered by a fey queen would cost.

![]() |

Pfft. Everyone knows you can find a million tea pots at yard sales and thrift shops! 1 coppah!

![]() |

It's just 50 gp. No need to add the inconsequential cost of the pot itself.

Vosk Lazav |

I'm ok with five people. It is my preferred number for Pathfinder, but I won't fight if y'all would prefer adding a sixth!
What is our party level spread? Looking just at taglines, I see two 7's, a 5, a 6 (Vosk), and whatever Socalwarhammer usually plays. Just curious, I have no concerns or anything :)
Purchases:
5139 to start
-3000 Rod of Extend (Lesser)
-1425 Variety of Scrolls (9 2nd level, 3 1st level)
714 left
-2pp for Oil of Daylight

GM Ladile |

@Meredith - Yeah, just go with 50 gp for the cost :)
Re: Level Spread - Right now we're rocking a 5-7 range which is actually a lot better than it was several scenarios back. And again, many thank-yous to Quang Chi being willing to slow track so some of the others can catch up a bit!
Re: Number of Players - As I said earlier I'll hit up a couple of people to see if someone wants to join as a 6th but if I don't get any bites we'll just run with 5 players again.
Hopefully you guys will find the next scenario a little more challenging combat-wise. After Pallid Plague + running a Season 0 for PbP Gameday I now see why a lot of GMs limit their runs Season 0-3 scenarios to just 4 or 5 players max and I'll probably do the same in the future, at least for one-off tables for conventions and such.

![]() |

You're welcome, Great Lady and Friends.
Quang Chi is currently at 19.5 xp following this last adventure. He can slow track 3 more scenarios and then makes 8th.
That gives everyone else time to make one more level. But....
I'm holding a 3 XP chronicle from an AP I did in campaign mode and applied to him. Back in 2016! I'd really rather not take that one at slow track cause it's worth over 17,000 gp at normal track. (So much shopping potential!)
So, after 3 scenarios from now, he'll go from 7th straight to 9th. Will that be a problem? If so, I could sub in someone else either then or in the interim, and either as a guest star or as a permanent replacement.
Given that we presumably would still need ranged, I could bring my Gunslinger 5 (the irrepressible vanaran Chhat that GM has played alongside).
Or Lady Vanessa (dhampir charm-omancer 7) wouldn't mind coming out to play either.
-------------------
On an unrelated note, I'm prepping to run a PBP myself. I'll advertise it on the forum, but if any of y'all want in, I'll hold a spot for you.
I'm planning to run #9-21 In the Grandmaster's Name (tier 3-7) starting in early Nov. Let me know if you're interested.

![]() |

Assuming he's done with his current game, Dale likely would be interested in another adventure. You can't ever get enough Mindchemist. He's modeled after my now late father in law (which is ironic, he was known for always being late).
I think Dale will be level 6.

GM Ladile |

@QC - Hmm...I guess it depends on whether or not the level jump is enough to consistently pull the group up to the higher subtier. I don't mind running for a group with a larger level spread but it's also up to the rest of the gang if they want to take the risk or not.
That said, 3 scenarios from now is quite a ways off with my general pace so I'm not going to worry about it too much just yet ;)
Re: #9-21 - Hmm...tempting. For a group that skews high-tier I've got Corona (Oracle 7), Fran (Witch 5), Callah (Shaman 5), and Soddy Daisy (Alchemist 5) available. Even more options for a 3-4 subtier group. I'll noodle it over a little more :)
*edit* Oh, I believe I may have found us a 6th! Look for them to check in at some point in the next day or two.

Vosk Lazav |

Hello!
Skill monkey and fighter aren't usually terms tied together, so I'm curious to know what that looks like. I think the bard is probably better in terms of mechanically meshing with the party, but, really, I think the most important thing is the personality meshing with the current characters. The frontline looks kind of crowded already (Vosk is never jockeying for a position though, so I can't say with 100% certainty). With that in mind, the bard could do their support thang while the animal companion helps the front.
Quang Chi, I haven't seen Chaat in a while :D Bring her back out!

![]() |

Ya I think either would work. We are definitely a bit melee heavy at the moment, but skill monkey fighter could be ranged too?
Regardless, I'm sure Frankie would welcome another fun loving soul to his mischief.

![]() |

Howdy! Bring whomever you like. Either character sounds fine with me.

GM Ladile |

Yep! Definitely play whichever character speaks to you (or maybe whichever of the two would be most likely to go on this particular mission).
I'm going to give it a few days for folks to finish leveling up, making purchases, and deciding on characters. I know Socal has had some stuff going on lately so I want to give them a little more time in case RL is still being a bear.

"Eep! Thank you for inviting me, Baronet," the little monkey-girl says shyly as she covers her excited smile with her tiny hand. "I'll have to check with Quang-sama when he gets back from Katapesh and then his next mission."
"See you soon!" she finishes with an enthusiastic wave and bow to the Baronet, the large ghostly Bear standing behind him, and the others.
Chhat may swap in after these next 3. As GM says, 3 scenarios from now is quite a ways off.
----------------
@Oladon, if you want in on #9-21 In the Grandmaster's Name, you're invited too. I'll wait a couple more days, then advertise it on Flaxseed. Currently holding spots for Dale the Sage and one of GM's myriad options. (I know how you feel, Lady, I also sometimes feel like I have too many characters in certain tiers.)

GM Ladile |

Chhat has grown since the last time I saw her!
(Alas, Willow is still 1st level. On the whole I've GMed more than I've played over the last year or two so that means slow going for my crew.)
For #9-21 I'm leaning towards playing Soddy because she's fun and what's better than one alchemist in the party? TWO alchemists in the party! :D

![]() |

Two alchemists are definitely better than one! I'm sure Dale would share some extracts with you too!

![]() |

Ooo a bard trickster. He'll get along very well with Frankie.
Frankie is all updated and shopped. Bought him a nice belt of dex +2. A kid's best friend!

![]() |

Massee & Lady Ladile, the campaign for Grandmaster's Name is up. I'm leaving recruitment open until 2359 GMT on 1 Nov. I don't really like relying on first-come-first-served, especially over a weekend, and a holiday weekend at that (depending on where you are of course.)
I'll get the gameplay thread opened shortly so you can dot in.

GM Ladile |

Hey-o, hope everyone had a fun Halloween (or a quiet one, if that's your preference)! I didn't do anything fun since I had to work, aside from wearing orange & black on my person as well as on my nails. At least work was surprisingly chill for a Halloween full moon Saturday night!
I'm working tonight and tomorrow night as well but after that I'm going to get us rolling again on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Stay tuned!

![]() |

I almost forgot it was Halloween last night. Not that it would have changed my stay at home self.

![]() |

Uh... my wife and I built a bookcase this weekend. Man, we're exhausted.
I hope you all had a fun weekend.

![]() |

I was (am) in Korea for the weekend. They don't really do Halloween here. I saw maybe one or two shops that made any attempt at decorations. I didn't see kids dressed up at all, and I seriously doubt there were any costume parties. Maybe down in the bar districts and expat areas of Seoul, but not here in the high-rise apartment block suburbs by the airport.
I did get into a Starfinder Roll20 game on Saturday night my time, so I guess you could say I was playing a character on Halloween.

GM Ladile |

Alrighty! Beginning post is up over in Gameplay and the new slides/maps are linked at the top of the campaign page as well as in my header.
As always, please check in and make sure that your information on Slide #2 is accurate and up-to-date. I switched to a new stolen slide format for marching orders so please place your tokens on Slide #3 accordingly.
For the time being we're going to forge ahead sans Socalwarhammer but I don't think it'll prove to be an issue for the rest of the group.

![]() |

I put Frankie in front of the line because he's pretty reckless, and of course we don't really have a straight front liner other than him. As long as he's in the front two I'm good with it. (His short legs don't help!)

![]() |

Oooh, fancy new slide! Keep an eye on it, or it might get stolen appropriated.
QC certainly doesn't need to be up front, nor does he necessarily need to be last. Distance to his targets and cover rarely matter to him. He can be last if no one else particularly wants the spot, or he can be middle-ish as he is fairly durable.

Meredith's Eidolon |

Due to a copy-paste snafu I lost Denair's build.
Luckily Meredith just leveled up, so I can pretty much remake Denair however I want to. I'm just giving a heads up just in case there are any discrepancies.

![]() |

Sounds like Denny chose to stay in the fey realm!
Come back Denny Come back!

Vosk Lazav |

Not feeling well tonight (no COVID symptoms, just can't think and I'm exhausted). Please bot me as needed and thank you for your patience.

Meredith's Eidolon |

Luckily I posted the level up details for levels 5-7, so I was able to regenerate the important details. I'm probably missing some skill points, but those shouldn't be a big deal.
