Known as 'Caller' among non-Shoanti, Karathi's origins are shrouded in mystery. As a small child, this obviously Shoanti boy was found wandering the danerous countryside without and history or knowledge of who he was. Taken in by the Tamiir-Quah tribe, the boy quickly grew in size. By the age of 12, he was already 6 feet tall. By his 18th birthday, he was nearly a foot taller than most of the men of his tribe.
What was unknown to Karathi was that while he is of Shoanti heritage, his blood has remnants of Storm Giant ancestry. This is the cause of his larger than normal size and natural 'Air-Spirit' magic. When he turned 20, a great and powerful seeress told him of his true ancestry and that his parents where killed while they tried to hide him from a powerful Cloud Giant who wished to use him in order to extract his revenge upon a rival. So, in order to protect his Shoanti kinsmen, Karathi has left the lands of Varisia in search of fame, fortune and if the Master of Scrolls is true to his word, possibly the identity of the Storm Giant responsible for the death of his parents.
