Nemis |
Hey GM, so I was mistaken about my XP. I finally added the chronicle to my folder, and this one brings Nemis to Level 4.
Khalib the Accursed |
A small clarification here: I've just picked the Misfortune revelation.
Misfortune (Ex): At 1st level, as an immediate action, you can force a creature within 30 feet to reroll any one d20 roll that it has just made before the results of the roll are revealed. The creature must take the result of the reroll, even if it's worse than the original roll. Once a creature has suffered from your misfortune, it cannot be the target of this revelation again for 1 day.
To simplify matters and avoid retcons, I'll specify now when I'll use it:
1) When a bad guy within range (30 feet) rolls a threat (nat 20), I'll use Misfortune to have him reroll that.
2) When one of us (myself included) rolls a Nat 1 on a saving throw, I'll use it. Bad rolls above one are up to the player's choice (i.e. if he deems it too low and wants to use his Misfortune for the day, I'll have him reroll).
Does it sound fair?
GM Batpony |
That's very simple! I had the same rules plus a bit more, (including will saves) for my oracle in another game.
Just to clarify, if the bad guy rolls a weapon threat (i.e. 18 or 19 depending on weapon, do you still want me to reroll?)
Khalib the Accursed |
If it's a threat roll, yes please.

During the downtime Felicitas will buy a Belt of Dexterity and a headband of Charisma.

I think I missed a step.
With each person we first improve their attitude - and any of us can contribute to this, and one can lead this each time.
Then with those who are indifferent, we can try and get information. Each of us can only do this once, but we can all aid-another as much as we like. Typically this is diplomacy, but some may have other skills than can be used.
Lastly, on one of the thee "nobles" our sovereign court folk can try to align them in lieu of trying to get information.
Xuan Fung |
Sorry I haven't responded in a while. Partly cos of work, and partly cos social skills are not Fung's strengths.
I'll be away for a short vacation until Monday. Please bot me if necessary.

You can always aid another. That can't make things worse, and can provide a much needed boost, even if it isn't especially likely to come off.
Toctep |
I am on a citytrip with my wife until Monday May 7. Please bot me when and where required.
Toctep |
It was pointed out to me that I am not able to take the trait berserker of the society, as it requires a lvl in barbarian. I have adjusted my rage rounds and will select another trait after this scenario.
GM Batpony |
Understandable, it's so hard to keep up with legality of everything in PFS nowadays!
Nemis |
Yeah, it's my job and I can't do it!
Heads up, I'm going to be away from about noon today until Sunday. If we need to fight just use my wand of magic missile, no need to worry about charges

Yeah, it's my job and I can't do it!
LOL

Just a general question.
You can whisper messages and receive whispered replies. Those nearby can hear these messages with a DC 25 Perception check. You point your finger at each creature you want to receive the message. When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal (or a thin sheet of lead), or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks the spell. The message does not have to travel in a straight line. It can circumvent a barrier if there is an open path between you and the subject, and the path’s entire length lies within the spell’s range. The creatures that receive the message can whisper a reply that you hear. The spell transmits sound, not meaning; it doesn’t transcend language barriers. To speak a message, you must mouth the words and whisper.
I've always interpreted the spell message as you needed to point to the character everytime you whisper the message. But I note that is some interpretation that it is only when you cast the spell that you need to point your finger, after that you are always connected regardless of where you are as long as there is a line of effect.
So confused, I couldn't find a clear ruling, which is it?
Xuan Fung |
Hmm, interesting question. This is obviously not definitive and is just my interpretation. I'll take it as the latter from the line, "When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range.". Mainly because say you're high level enough to affect 5 targets, without some finger contortion, there is no way you can point at all 5 at the same time. :)
Toctep |
I have always interpreted pointing fingers is required when casting, but is not necessary during the remainder of the duration (10 min level). That way it is a great spell when you have an advanced scout as he can relay information without getting back to the rest of the party.
Nemis |
Heads up, I'll be AFK tomorrow through Sunday night. I'm chaperoning a field trip, and then I've got a lot of house work that HAS to get done before the granite comes in Monday. Bot me as needed.
GM Batpony |
We'll start as soon as Nemis is back! I'm falling behind on the chronicle sheets. Will get to you before the weekend comes! Sorry! Have been catching up on stuff since I fell ill last week.
Nemis |
Nemis is back! Hope you feel better.
Nemis |
Nemis is ready, with no purchases, but he's signed up for a convention in July (July 21st). We should be okay, but I'm just putting that out there :-)

Please do check them and let me know if there is needed correction. I've left spots for those who need day job checks, and I trust your honesty.
Looks like I'm the one that needs a bit of time, sorry everybody!
I have not had the time to get caught up with scenario part 3, but I'm planning to get us started by this weekend when I'm a little more free. With our current pace I'm quite confident July 21st is not a problem, but I'll bear it in mind!
GM Batpony |
Helikon, yes you have more than ample time to do that! Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Toctep |
I will be on a camping trip this weekend and am GMing a game on Monday, so expect little to no posts from me until Tuesday.
In addition I have not yet had the opportunity to level Toctep, will do so at the earliest possibility.
I will be purchasing a belt of mighty constitution, other that that I do not expect to make any purchases.
Belinda Bluefoot |
Gah,, the site has been vile.
I just realised that Belinda actually can be level 5.
With the GM approval, I'll do the updates, and to make communication easier, I'll spend skill points on learning the four elemental languages.
I can easily back her back a level if required though.
Toctep |
I will be at a festival this weekend, if needed please bot me.
GM Batpony |
I have reported the scenario! As far as it goes we are done, but i'm holding off waiting for Fung to chip in on the absolute final conclusion and chronicles. There is a faction thing for Grand Lodge so want to make sure he puts in his word on how the conclusion plays out.
GM Batpony |
As usual, do let me know if there's any corrections and I will tend to it immediately! Thanks everyone for joining me in this game! It was a great experience!
You may note that you have lost some monetary gains. While I applaud your ingenuity in reading the scenario and avoiding combat at the tavern, the scenario is not kind. Since you were not able to loot the room and the enemies, you lost out on some gold.
Nemis |
It was an awesome ride! Thank you sir! (Chronicle looks good.)
Toctep |
Thank you all for a great ride, I had a ton of fun!

You know that the guide to PFS provides for this situation?
If, for example, your players manage to roleplay their way through a combat and successfully accomplish the goal of that encounter without killing the antagonist, give the PCs the same reward they would have gained had they defeated their opponent in combat. If that scene specifically calls for the PCs to receive gold piece rewards based on the gear collected from the defeated combatants, instead allow the PCs to find a chest of gold (or something similar) that gives them the same rewards
It is your call, I just wanted you to be aware of the possibility to grand full rewards.
Nemis |

I was going to point this out too, but I also want to stress that I'm good with whatever the GM says in both cases.

I had not known this! I will edit the chronicles by today! It seems only befitting, if I start punishing people for thinking outside the box, i'll turn everyone to murder hobos!
Xuan Fung |
Oh forgot his day job roll for I think.
profession (herbalist), masterwork tools: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 = 23 Hmm, that's just 20gp. Oh well, for the heck of it, let me use my GM reroll
profession (herbalist), masterwork tools, GM reroll: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 24 Lol! What is meant to be is meant to be.
Nemis |
You are kind!
This was a great game! Thank you again, you'll see me signing up in the future!
GM Batpony |
On a side note, I'll be relatively quiet after the current PBP special and Gameday ! I'll be going on vacation and will have limited access and no time, so am holding out on starting any new games till I'm back.
I've committed myself to a few games already on gameday, but am considering opening another table of "8-22 wrath of the fleshwarped queen" during the gameday period if my schedule allows it. If anyone is interest, do let me know and I'll bear you in mind if I open up a second recruitment!
Toctep |
Thanks a lot for running this trio of scenarios for us GM! I had a blast.
I have not played 8-22 and you did a great job here so I am definately game for that one.
Belinda Bluefoot |
I'd probably be up for it as well, although my dance cards is pretty full at the moment. Hopefully that will quieten down a bit as the gameday settles in.
Many thanks for running this, I've really enjoyed it.
