Unless Mera wants to have the talk before the group meeting, or something special comes up during Tarvi's lesson, I'm ready to move on.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
? Monday ? I think I might be missing this reference. Am I too young or too old for it?
Tal Bernard Mainz |
enjoy Shadowlord.
Ah thanks for the explanation Monday. My daughters, 6 and 3, aren't into my little ponies so I was completely lost.
Naberius Belthrune |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Went over my head as well, though now that I looked into it, "exceptionally talented at magic", "more interested in books than friends", "tries to be rational in unfamiliar situations" do sound pretty spot on for ol' Nabe. That and the apparent OCD. :P
Naberius Belthrune |
@Mera: I'm not sure if that's what you meant—or how you meant to express it—but that last bit is a pretty big deal for Naberius. Having family that is not utter sh*t? Acceptance from said relative? Unheard of! :P
Naberius Belthrune |
I'm not sure if it's finished, per se, but I don't know when Mera is coming back from her trip. If you want to move things forward, we can always conclude the scene in spoilers when she does.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Bah! Sorry for the delay. Whenever I have been able to find some free time I quickly pass out from exhaustion! :) Please carry on.
Naberius Belthrune |
Hmm. We got two circlets of persuasion, didn't we? One for Mera and one for Tal, with the stipulation that we'd get to keep one of them as an early reward.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I thought as much as well but can't find it for certain. Was it just 1 of the circlets or both?
Naberius Belthrune |
You want something besides the fame that will accompany your exploits and the satisfaction of helping rid this city of shadow beasts? She sighs. Very well. You all drive a hard bargain. She then holds out two circlets. These two circlets are circlets of persuasion. I think some of you might need these for our plan for you to gain your way into the Lord Mayor's house. She then pulls them back. I am only lending these to you although you might be able to keep one depending on if you bring me anything of scholary importance that you find in the Asmodean Knot. Of course this will be in additionion to your reward for retreiving the Chelish Crux, naturally. So do we have a deal?
Okay, so the deal was for after the manor gig, but I think we get to keep both of them for now.
Mera Wist-Thrune |

SHhhhhhhhhh. I know we had two, I wasn't intending to mention that!

30+ hours of work in two days. Going to bed and will post in the morning. Night.
Naberius Belthrune |
Please arrive in costume an hour before sunset on the morrow.
Regardless of the instructions on the invitation, Naberius purchases a noble's outfit with the appropriate jewelry (costing 175 gp in total), planning to wear them under his costume. He certainly has no intention of keeping up with the gimmick for longer than half an hour at most, before melding into the crowd.
Feel free to add in any RP from the time Mera starts to deliver the invitations to when Arael gives you the scant information.
I'm ready to move on whenever, though I'll be out of town attending a RPG convention until Sunday. Don't expect any posts from me until then.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Everyone - This is the week leading up to the huge bocce tournament that I run. I take off the whole week to prepare and I'm ridiculously busy getting ready. My posting this week will be scarce.
Thanks!
Naberius Belthrune |
That's fine, though I really hope we'll be able to gain some traction soon. As much as I love this game and all the characters, it's really hard to stay motivated with so many long breaks in the action. :/
Tal Bernard Mainz |
No murders from Tal currently. Kind of goes against his nature. Put him in a straight up fight or have the fiance attack Tal then that is another matter. Perhaps the fiance gets drunk at the party and attacks Tal and that is the end of it. Kind of dinner and a show. I am sure the nobles won't mind a little bloodshed.
Naberius Belthrune |
... you were supposed to take me clothes shopping -_-
Yeah, my bad. I should have pushed for that harder, but I thought we were moving on. Had I known it would take us this long to get back to the plot, I would have loved to play that out. :(
Naberius Belthrune |
I remember Raveen kept a journal of the dates, but I can't find it.
Raveen's journal ends on the 28th of Lamashan (October), which is when we attacked the Bastards. After that, we had a full week of downtime, followed by another week of rehearsals. Then the day of the play, after which three days have passed, by my count. That would mean that it's currently Starday (Saturday), 21st of Neth (November) in the year 4708 AR. I'll try to keep track of the date from now on.

So that means the rain outside is November Rain.
Sorry I couldn't resist (and I am probably showing my age! :P )
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Wow thanks Naberius, that's quite an amazing recounting of the date. I was just trying to determine if it was snowing or raining outside!

Ha! I used to listen to that TAPE in my car quite a bit.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Starting on Monday I will be on my 10yr anniversary. The resort will have wifi so I can post periodically but it may be as odd times.
Naberius Belthrune |
Should we just mask up and go as a group? It would be good to have Tal along, just in case Tuesday can't handle multiple(?) bodyguards on his own. And Monday has to be nearby, right? For Tuesday to be able to... be. Mera should probably get an alibi, though.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Actually Tal may not even need to mask up. He can be there to 'protect' Mera and get in the way of guards claiming ignorance. As long as he does not attack the guards or the fiancé it should work.
If Tal needs to attack then there could be a problem.
Naberius Belthrune |
Tal is not too good at bluffing, is he? Seems like an unnecessary risk. Also, if Mera is known to be aware of the mugging and does nothing to help Seoghal, and is then seen at the celebrations partying away without him, she would immediately come under suspicion. She must have nothing to do with the attack, if at all possible. Preferably, she should go somewhere where she can get as many witnesses as she can. When we do get to the party, she can play dumb and act all worried like she is expected to do. Hell, we might even be be able to use that as an excuse to slip away if we need to.
Naberius and the Dauds could probably take out a few guards, but it never hurts to be sure. I admit that it could be suspicious if Mera does not have her bodyguard with her at the time.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Happy belated anniversary Tal!
Naberius - I was thinking the same, I didn't want to be anywhere near the mugging otherwise I'd be tending to him all night.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Then Tal and Mera are at the theater when the mugging takes place. That way there are more witnesses as all of the actors will be there to get in costume.
I agree that Tal has no bluff and it could be a liability. I was just thinking that if you needed more help then that would be an option.
Or is this just a ploy for Mera to try and get some more alone time with Tal?
Thanks Mera
DM RichD |
Just to make sure I got this: Mera and Tal will be at the theater trying to be as conspicuous as possible.
Naberius, Monday & Tuesday will carry out the non-lethal attack on Seoghal and his bodyguards. They will be wearing disguises.
Arael will enlist the aid of a non-descript street urchin to deliver a note to Seoghal from 'Thesing' to draw him into an alley.
Sounds right?

Where is it? I can't seem to search on that phrase to find any avatars?
