Not to get into politics but last night in America was interesting no matter who was elected president.

That's why I wanted to talk to the majordomo. I suppose we could find her office, if she has one, and see if there are any blueprints or somesuch. Might be easier than trying to get her to talk, if she is loyal.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
I just ant to say that I love all of you guys despite Mera acting like a pretentious cold hearted b!~$% right now. Alcohol from the party is driving her feelings from earlier to the surface. I'm tracking she had at least three glasses of wine and is letting that cloud her judgment slightly.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
its more fun this way to have 'real' strife between characters as some point. If we all got along and made nice it would get boring quick.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
Oh I agree! I have had multiple people take issue with my play style in the past and tell me that they were here to play heroes and not to have issues with their companions. Totally unrealistic, but to each their own. Just wanted to let you know!
Naberius Belthrune |
Hey, no problem. I think Naberius has reached far greater levels of douchebaggery in the past, and no one even murdered his to-be spouse. Good on you for checking, though. :)
Naberius Belthrune |
When filled in by Nabe about another charade of Mera's Tal cringes slightly at tripping her on the floor. It only lasted a second though as Tal justifies it to himself that if she was not so impetuous and communicated with the rest then she would not have ended up in that situation. Come on, lets just hope we are not too late and she is making us jump out of the frying pan and into the fire.
That might be fair if you actually left Mera time to explain herself, instead of hopping straight into rolling CMB. This is going to be a mess to play out retroactively. :S
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I would agree if I thought it was Mera at the time. However gullible Tal does think it is Thesing and acted accordingly. That and I am blaming her instead of Naberius thinking that this is her idea. Does Nabe tell us this is actually his idea this time?
Naberius Belthrune |
Yes, it's a completely reasonable thing for your character to do. However, I don't think it's very good play-by-post etiquette. Anything that requires retconning should be avoided, as it stops things from moving forward. At a table, this whole exchange would take seconds, but here a we could get mired for days trying to make sense of what actually happened within the narrative. This is especially frustrating since we just finished an in-character argument and were about to move forwards, with Mera actively moving us toward that direction and that action being affirmed by a post from the GM.
Really, this probably not that big of a deal, as I assume that Mera's player doesn't want to get stuck arguing the issue. I just felt like I needed to point that out, as it could easily cause some unneeded friction in the future.
Mera Wist-Thrune |
One of the problems that PbP presents is the leaps you need to make in order to push things on sometimes. I reached past the exchange with Monday/Tal to try and get us back on track without waiting for proper responses from the other guys. I apologize for making the assumption they would just let me pass. I have no issue with what happened, it's just more fuel on th dumpster fire of our internal social struggles. :)
I'll try to wrap this up quickly as possible.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
No issue with you moving on past the incident. I understand why you did what you did and was trying to end it as well with leaving with Monday. It is all good.
Think we could sell this as a decent soap opera?
Tal Bernard Mainz |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
uhoh Tuesday's feelings are hurt.
Perhaps 'As Westcrown Turns' or 'All Naberius's Children' or 'The Mera and the Dauds'

I do believe we have drama in spades.
I'm a bit disturbed that the room is on the other side of the manor. Not that we can't cross it, I'm sure we can. But I feel like if we cross it then we are leaving behind this half of the manor which we would then need to cross again.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
sorry guys, long few days with recent snow fall. Will catch up today hopefully.
Naberius Belthrune |
Mera got pretty good directions to A9. Assuming that she can put together where we are currently, we'd be heading straight there. Right?
Naberius Belthrune |
That's closer, anyway, so we might as well stop there as we make our way to the office. That, or we could split up and rendezvous in the entrance hall. Opinions?
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Tal will catch up once he hears no one is coming behind us.
Happy thanksgiving everyone that celebrates it.

True story: When I first started playing D&D when 3.5 first came out, my buddy said to me "Never split up the party". I was playing a rogue (I know, bad first choice for a player to RP their first time out). So I figured since my job is to scout I will just leave everyone and say I am scouting the next few rooms alone. Well my PC ran into a dragon and became lunch. My buddy just turns to me and says, "That is why we don't split up the party!" To this day, those guys still rib me about it.
So you all are going to A9-The private office?
Happy Thanksgiving as well. Hope your dinners are as opulent as the Lord-Mayor's! :P

Private office sounds good to me.

To anyone that loves Figs, the Kickstarter for Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5 was just launched and they also have a Black Friday sale on their webstore.
To compare, the original Kicksarter finished at just over $2 Million USD. This Kickstarter beat that in 2 hours.
And it's not even been 6 hours and they're almost at $3 Million.

Sorry if I'm wasting everyone's time. The majordomo seemed like a good lead, but it seems like it might be a dead-end. :/
So, we could either talk to Crosael and try to learn about her interests in hopes of figuring out the password, or head straight upstairs without any real idea where we're going. I'm inclined to do the former, if only to figure out what's on the damn paper—it has to be important to warrant the secret page, even if it's not directly related to what we're doing. Besides, this place is huge, so the latter option just seems silly. We can't really spend hours just wandering around and hoping we'll bump into the entrance. We don't even know what it looks like. There has to be something here that can point us in the right direction...
Any other ideas?
Tal Bernard Mainz |
no idea is a waste as we don't know where to go. I suppose you could start talking in doubles saying every word twice on the off chance it triggers the secret page.
Tal just isn't very diplomatic so talking to the uppity nobles is not his cup of tea.
Naberius Belthrune |
Yeah, sure. I'll just grab a thesaurus and start going through it word by word. :P
Splitting off and talking to multiple people at once might be a good idea, though maybe in twos so the less socially gifted can aid the lead.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
I am glad you took that first suggestion as a joke. lol. Although it would be pretty funny to hear Naberius mumbling in duplicate to himself while taking to others.
Sounds good with the splitting of the social butterflies but I suppose that means I am with Mera again. All good as long as she doesn't get anyone whipped this time. ;p
Tal Bernard Mainz |
touche
Naberius Belthrune |
Naberius wants to speak to Crosael ASAP, during said break if that feels appropriate. He keeps eating sparingly, but there are only so many ways I can narrate that.
Tal Bernard Mainz |
Thanks for the heads up. Holidays are always a tricky time of the year for posting anyways. Have fun and don't get too bent out of shape with the family.
