Thanks folks. It is seriously depressing when unemployed...first time since I was 13. If it weren't for the baby I'd probably have stayed in bed all day.

Scorching ray is only 'close' range, so Lucius is largely short of attack options until he gets to the top of the cliff, unless he spends his last mythic point on something bigger. And I kind of want to keep that ace in his sleeve unless there is a good likelihood it will end the fight (like using Decisive Strike to let Nebbin kill the bad guy) or it will otherwise save Lucius's bacon (like Surging his way through a saving throw.)
But I'm interested in what our other tactical thinkers might suggest.
Otherwise, Lucius will just have to throw more magic missiles at the spellcaster.

Just FYI, the ball and chain is home from medical school through May 1, so my posting may be a bit spotty for a bit (though I usually still have time to do quick updates). Feel free to DMPC me as needed.

Hey all, sorry for the tardy...travelling for work and have not had time between meetings and flights. Most likely be this weekend before I get time to update.
But yes, you actually have seen him, you just don't know it...or at least your characters wouldn't.

In the interest of keeping everyone abreast of the situation...
I approached Nebbin and just now Lucius to ask if either of them would take over the DM duties from me. I'm just unable to reliably be here with the baby, the new job, and my writing gigs. I really didn't want to do this, but I feel as though I am treating you all unfairly by making you suffer through the drudging pace.
You've all made wonderful characters and have been far more wonderful as players than I deserve and I feel that any DM would be lucky to have you as players. I don't want to see this game fall apart because of me.
Nebbin is already a little overextended with other games and real life to take over. I'll wait for Lucius but there is a new baby in real life there as well.
If anyone else would like to toss their hat in, or would know anyone else that would, let me know and I'll try to make this as painless as possible.
I'm so very sorry that I've failed you all like this but I hope that you can continue on with the story.

I think that's one of the things that frustrates me most, Eben. I actually feel like I could probably run Nebbin as a DMPC as he's more reactive than active, but I just can't quite even keep up with my own games right now. :(

I appreciate the offer to take up the DM's seat, but I really don't have time. (Lucius is also rather unsuited to life as a DMPC - because he has very important opinions on things and his planned build was to almost become a party unto himself, with a Cohort and bound devils.)
The only time I really have to participate in PbP is in snippets during my workday - which works okay for a player with limited options and limited need for planning or reference materials. It really wouldn't work for trying to run the game and reference the module. (I've been giving this a rather lot of thought, even before Pendin reached out for this game, because I'd love to run an 'Age of Worms in Golarion' game.)

Thinking about it, I do have a couple games wrapping up in the next few months, I think. I could MAYBE take it over then -- but it would probably not be until well after the summer and would depend a lot on when the other two games end...
Not sure if we want to wait a bit and see if there's still interest at that time. Also, I'm not 100 percent sure I'll enjoy running mythic, so it would be very much a trial run as I would probably call a stop to it if I found it more trouble than it's worth (that said, I was eager to see Nebbin develop and what he could do with his mythic abilities so I am sort of torn).

I think in that case we should probably just close the books on this one.
I am really sorry, again, but I believe it is in everyone's best interest that I step down.
I want to thank you all for staying when you did and for as long as you did and for making this a memorable story with great characters. I was looking forward to seeing Lucius' opinions come to the fore with Saoirse and Nebbin and I was hoping to have a neat little subplot with Thom's backstory and the half-succubus lady. And turook was going to be given a Faustian deal for power that would have come to the fore by the final battle.
Thank you again and keep in touch, and feel free to hit me up for anything...I will respond as soon as I can.
