Dang, Garvid!
@Kynes: I couldn't say it better than Wicked already did but your words were very thoughtful and much appreciated.
This is a very awesome group to play with :)

Norelia "Li" |
Not sure if it's super important but I can't move Li's token in Roll20. She doesn't want to be anywhere near that mace :) It was a miracle she survived the first will save, I don't think she'll make another...
Norelia "Li" |
I was thinking about how Jolistina found us considering we never spoke of our plans in front of her. Li is carrying the key that was sent to Cressida. Not that there's much time now, and Cressida did say that divinations were performed on the key, but could it be used to track us? If so, maybe someone smarter than Li and someone who uses magic should take a look at it if we don't end up defeating Jolistina and we do need to run.
The Wicked GM |
Sorry Li, your token should work now.
Lord Talfryn Blackoak |
this red jester is an interesting monster. It seems excellent at scaring or paralyzing the party, but it deals so little damage that it seems it can't win over the long-term.
The Wicked GM |
It would work better with an entourage of henchman, and in that case could make for quite a deadly opponent at the appropriate level. It appears Jolistina is working alone tonight. Unless Talfryn and Kynes scare up some friends.
Leah Kynes |
Soon.
Jolistina does solo standup prop comedy routine a la Gallagher.
We all think it is bloody hilarious.
The Wicked GM |
Thanks Garvid, I updated my post and her hp in roll20.
Garvid Krein |
That was a sunder attempt, though, not an attack. Thought it might be a better idea, though I realise it was the thing I should've done from the start, when I saw Kynes go... lulzy.
Leah Kynes |
Off topic.
Counterpart is maybe the most interesting tv shows I've watched in a long time. The creation that Justin Marks and the performance given by J.K. Simmons are brilliant, captured at its peak in Simmon's gripping dialogue with himself in Episode 8 of Season 1.
I just started the season over so I can watch Season 2 with a full recollection, which is out now on Starz.
I love it when a producer finally gives a life-long supporting/tv commercial actor a chance for a main role, and that actor absolutely kills it...in part because the producer had a good script and the guts to stick with it against all those that cowardly make their casting decisions based on sex appeal. Yeah, its one of those. But man... it's one of those.
Lord Talfryn Blackoak |
Hey folks, random request here, but anybody in a game that could use a new player? I'm looking to add another pbp to the roster and would rather game with folks I know are awesome :)
The Wicked GM |
Iyon in Slumbering Tsar runs "Emerald Kingdoms", a mashup of Emerald Spire, Thornkeep, and Kingmaker. It's a big dungeon crawl. Agyen's player is in there, too. We've just lost a player and GM has asked for new blood. You should look it over.

If you have DR, please post it in your tagline near your hp. I forget even though I check it every combat :).
Garvid Krein |
Done!
I'll try and update that whenever I post, though, since Garvid's stats change a lot from turn to turn.
EDIT:
I think GM BrOp, our former substitute teacher GM, is just starting a new, old-school DnD inspired, Savage Worlds game in the recruitment. I am planning to check it out, since being born in the 90's doesn't really give you too many old-school DnD experiences. Just thought I'd mention that, since his Lordship was asking.
The Wicked GM |

@Li: Yes, you can "ready" this attack. When/if the thug comes within range, it will trigger initiative. If you go first, you'll strike at him flat-footed and the attack will be eligible for sneak attack damage. If he goes first, he will not be flat-footed against your attack and won't take sneak attack damage.
@Talfryn: There's a feat for what I think you're trying to do here.
@Yazi: I'm assuming 3 charges of the healing stick to (nearly) top everyone off.
Lord Talfryn Blackoak |
@Talfryn: There's a feat for what I think you're trying to do here.
Yikes. I guess so - I was hoping for a little mumble-mumble behind Garvid, but now I know what'll happen next time! Apologies, everyone.
The Wicked GM |
Don't worry too much. These salty thugs were probably looking for any excuse for a little bloodshed...
Oh, and I forgot to mention it, but you can assume Amin took the supply satchels with him.
Yaziyah Tanja |
Sorry for falling behind, have been having a crazy busy time.
Level up things:

- Hex: Fortune
- Special shaman things: Automatic Writing 1/day (like divination with 90% effectiveness) - would like to use this soooooon.
Leah Kynes |
Li, If trying to get past orange, that thug might be subject to a -4 to skill checks and attack rolls from Yaz Evil Eye, a -2 from being shaken, and another -2 from being sickened--or just plain knocked out.
Norelia "Li" |
I would be trying to get past orange. We'll see what Wicked rules because I have no idea what their CMD is but I'm not overly hopeful. Then I wasn't sure if she could still try to attack with a botched acrobatics move or if she'd now have an AoO on her if she fails.
The Wicked GM |
Have we actually killed any of them? I thought Garvid and Kynes are using non-lethal.
You're correct. I'm sensationalizing their perspective to "justify" their use of deadly force. As if they hadn't started it!
Leah Kynes |
I've had a little trouble describing how Kynes uses his bladed scarf for non-lethal slashing. I guess numerous delicate cuts that sap their vitality but won't kill them? Or slashes that avoid vital organs...
I'd think it is fair to say that it would be hard to know whether we were trying to kill them, or just make them feel really really bad, disfigured for life by a thousand cuts.
Garvid Krein |
Multiple painful rends and cuts might do the trick. I suppose the pain and fear would be the thing knocking them out, rather than the blood loss/injury. That's my reasoning around it, to be fair. Although, Blade of Mercy is a little too powerful of a trait, now that I think about it.
The Wicked GM |
GM, is the house up in the air on logs, or is that just planks to avoid getting muddy when you get in?
More like planks, or a low porch with a walkway leading to the pier. The house isn't on stilts and sits low to the ground.
