Assuming Direct Control

Here we go. Starting the new Mass Effect Play by Post

Male Turian Spectre Trainer

Varnoc Reporting for duty, Sir!

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

"Morning, Ossifer!" Milomir chirps happily.

"I'm ready and able for duty!"

Male Krogan Soldier 7, Elite Trooper 1 (HP: 66/90 {DR: 14} DT: 31, Barriers: 46/70, BS: 4 | F:26 R:24 W:14 | Init +11 Per +10 | AP: 6/6)

"Ever seen a Krogan air drop? HrrrrRRRAAAAA ha ha ha!"

Male Krogan Soldier 7, Elite Trooper 1 (HP: 66/90 {DR: 14} DT: 31, Barriers: 46/70, BS: 4 | F:26 R:24 W:14 | Init +11 Per +10 | AP: 6/6)

"Where's the Ryncol?! They told me this place would be EXPLODING!"

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

"Um...Hey, Boss? What's the deal with kit? What do we have to play with?"

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

Facepalm

"Never mind. Found it."

Male Krogan Soldier 7, Elite Trooper 1 (HP: 66/90 {DR: 14} DT: 31, Barriers: 46/70, BS: 4 | F:26 R:24 W:14 | Init +11 Per +10 | AP: 6/6)

Disclaimer: This post contains what may be considered both the best and worst idea ever. You have been warned.

"The heavy melee functions on the new omni tools we received are amazing! I can put my fist in some guy's face and watch it explode! Ha ha, Great! OH! But what if I could do that while charging from across the room? Huh? HUH? C'mon, would that be awesome or what? The full glory of a raging Krogan flying across the room to put down the thieving vagabond, Captain Falcon Style! What say we make that a new talent, huh GM?"

Assuming Direct Control

hmmmm.. heavy melee does take a full round action but a suppose that adding a talent or feat that would allow you to do it while charging wouldn't be a bad idea, but if I allow that you would do it while biotic charging

Assuming Direct Control

also don't forget to add our SR next to your health, that is also important to track

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

"Okay, gentlemen. Let's at least pretend for the civilians that we're professionals."

Male Salarian Scoundrel 2/ Soldier 1 (HP: 28/28 SR: 10/10 | F:15 R:19 W:13 | Init +4 | AP: 6/6)

"Fozali Issi at your service. I believe you requested me because of my abilities."

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

Any chance I could get a quick run-down of the command structure of C-Sec, at least of how it relates to us? Who am I in charge of, and who is in charge of me?
What divisions are all of us from?

Assuming Direct Control

Sure, there are 5 different parts to C-Sec.
Enforcement: beat cops, these are the cops that actual walk the streets and deal with most crime, generally the lowest on the totem poll but probably the largest in numbers. Varnoc, Fozali and Red are part of this group

Investigation: Detectives basically, Garus was a part of this group. They are generally the best officers since they are the ones that actual need to solve the crimes. This group handles everything from from the CSI teams to the detectives solving the crime. This groups has the largest power difference between bottom and top. Varnoc could order around Milomir but he wouldn't give and order to Serona.

Customs: Have you tried to get on to a plane and someone looked through all of your stuff, yeah these are those guys.

Network: I incorrectly called them Cyber Crimes in my first post, but they deal with cyber crimes. hacking, identity theft, Copy rights...

Special Response: SWAT, yeah they get all the cool toys

Patrol: coast-guard kinda? Not military attack but if a ship breaks down that kind of thing.

These parts of C-sec are grouped by what kinda of crime they deal with not their job. So a Network officer still has a gun and is not a man behind a desk. Still the same combat training as everyone else.

Basically Serona, as lead investigator, can order around the other groups if it is part of your case. If she needed a Customs record of some one she would get it. That being said she wouldn't have much say in a SR OP or really deal with a member of Patrol. These groups aren't stacked on top of each other but all occupy the same place. There are devisions with in the groups. Serona would "out rank" Milomir bc he is a CSI tech and you are a lead Investigator. It was also made by Turain so command structure is weird. You have one voice at the top but the rest is a very loss mixture. Despite being known for having stick up their buts, Turian command have one leader then everyone else all relatively equal. Serona out ranks all of us but she will be out ranked by Pallin and SR. If we also ran into a situation were one officer had the upper hand they can act. The good of the many kind of thing. Serona is in command but not absolute command. It is not based on the U.S.A model were the departments are against each other but rather they all work together.

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

Could if get a forensics result for a 28? I think I'll take twenty because I don't want to pull random jargon out of thin air. What does Milomir know? You can just PM me the results, I'll get back to you ASAP.

Assuming Direct Control

for what? what are you currently looking at?

So, with just a general look of the area, the crime scene is being processed by the book. Nothing seems out of place or that it doesn't belong. This doesn't feel like a set up. It just feels like a murder scene. Nothing seems like it shouldn't be there.

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

Well, in case anyone wasn't sure what their character could be doing right now...

orders for everybody!

Assuming Direct Control

Just a heads up, a GM post is coming. I didn't plan on you guys doing both at the same time so i am just prepping both. A new post should be up by tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Also Milomir needs to choose what he is doing.

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

Ahahaha! My multitasking will be your undoing!

... and my willingness to split the party will be ours!

Assuming Direct Control

yeah, this is going to make some of this next part very interesting. Also while I am thinking about it, I am against you guys cheating on the skill checks but if you want to read what the other guys are doing that is fine. Both areas will have important information that you will have to know or want to know in order to solve the case. You are all cops and filling out reports is what you do every night.

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

Probably a good idea to indicate which people the perception checks are for outside spoiler tags, just to make it clearer.

Assuming Direct Control

yeah, that was a mistake. I will be more clear in the future.

Male Krogan Soldier 7, Elite Trooper 1 (HP: 66/90 {DR: 14} DT: 31, Barriers: 46/70, BS: 4 | F:26 R:24 W:14 | Init +11 Per +10 | AP: 6/6)

Just nest the spoilers. Actually, can you do that?

Male Salarian Scoundrel 2/ Soldier 1 (HP: 28/28 SR: 10/10 | F:15 R:19 W:13 | Init +4 | AP: 6/6)

nope:

Assuming Direct Control

well, there goes my idea. I will post an OOC comment before the skill check spoilers to be clear who is doing what. I am also working through the whole party splitting up being a thing when really I should have seen it coming. It makes way to much sense and totally works narratively with in our group. All future encounters and plot is now prepared for such a thing. Saying anything else gets into spoilers.

Spoilers:

I am not going to tell you anything. Where is the fun in that.

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

I assumed that meant total concealment, seeing as we can't see him.

-10 on perception to find him, but he'd be a DC 0 if he's not trying to hide.

Assuming Direct Control

So I don't have a combat map, drawing that quickly it will be up and ready tomorrow

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

Without the map, I just write some nice long conditional statements for you.

Asari Noble 3 (HP: 32/32 SR: 10/10 | F:16 R:16 W:18 | Init +8 Per +9 | AP: 6/6

GM! Make your save vs. Destiny-induced fascination and drag yourself away from the screen long enough to post some more!

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

Yes please. This stalling is frustrating.

Assuming Direct Control

sorry, I am actual doing home work but the new post will be up today

Male Salarian Scoundrel 2/ Soldier 1 (HP: 28/28 SR: 10/10 | F:15 R:19 W:13 | Init +4 | AP: 6/6)

What time are we at in the game? Around noon? Or is it evening already?

Assuming Direct Control

it was before 7 in the morning that you all meet at the crime scene. it is maybe like 9 at the latest now. All you did was fly over to another part so that would have taken a some time but not that much

Male Krogan Soldier 7, Elite Trooper 1 (HP: 66/90 {DR: 14} DT: 31, Barriers: 46/70, BS: 4 | F:26 R:24 W:14 | Init +11 Per +10 | AP: 6/6)

workin the red eye shift. brilliant. i'll keep that in mind for the next couple of posts.

Assuming Direct Control

sorry, tons of home work, should be a new Gm post up soon, also bar needs to say what they want to do next or i can take us off somewhere

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

Take us somewhere.

Assuming Direct Control

your the cops, where do you want to go next? Varnoc can take you guys somewhere though since no one else has said anything, still waiting to see if Dread has more questions

Sorry, I'll be posting soon. Been busy past little while.

Assuming Direct Control

no problem, so have I, tons of homework, 5th year is hard

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

So, December has come and gone. Is this dead? 'Cause I liked the potential of this.

I really don't want to develop schizophrenia just to have someone to talk to in game...

Male Salarian Scoundrel 2/ Soldier 1 (HP: 28/28 SR: 10/10 | F:15 R:19 W:13 | Init +4 | AP: 6/6)

I like the potential here as well, but I think there might need to be a little bit more direction in between sections to keep it moving.

Male Drell Scout 2 / Soldier 1 (HP: 43/43 SR: 10/10 | F:17 R:18 W:14 | Init +3 Per +7 | AP: 6/6)

I agree, more direction would be lovely.

We're kind of stalled, as is.

Assuming Direct Control

yeah, I will be posting once i have a day off and the format will be changing. The completely open mystery style that I wanted doesn't translate very well and it more often just ended up with you guys having no idea where to go next. I will be changing it to more of a cop drama the mystery. One leads leads to another and he bread crumbs lead to the bad guy. Something that will be much more straight forward and hopefully easier to follow. What is the next step will be made more clear and there will be more of a sequence.
