Oh wow! I'm glad I checked in. Hopefully I can get a post up tonight if I have time.

GM Valen |

I am heading out of town tomorrow and may not be posting again until sometime Monday, February 10.

So, does Ashtoret share her knowledge of how to battle a haunt?
I - the player - know that usually positive energy can be used to shut down a haunt temporarily, but Merida certainly does not.
We could use the time it takes the haunt to respawn to try and find the sage spirit - and hopefully lay it to rest...

![]() |

@Ashtoret: Merida's actions depend on my question above.

Corey, thanks for perfect botting! I am sure that such a successful result is the instant karmic consequences of such a good post. :)
It was this post that made me think, "I should probably look at her profile to see what she has up her sleeve, rather than just what's in the botting spoiler." ;)

Cool! ...and perhaps this should be added to the botting instructions .)

![]() |

@Nightkit: Do you have mage armor up? It would apply against incorporeal touch, so your AC against it would be 18...

![]() |

Only if someone tapped me with my wand in the last ten minutes or so.
Since I don't think that was stated explicitly, I'd say no.

![]() |

Good to hear you're feeling better, Seeb.

Lysle |

Sorry I was sick with COVID even though I got vaccinated a few times. I had a fever etc then my wife was sick apologies!
No need to apologize. I hope that the two of you remain on the mend.

Memo to ourselves: Retrieve the items and the sword in the room with the fountain before leaving. Actually, I think we should go get them now before Amenopheus activates the sarcophagus - who knows what's going to happen then...

![]() |

Yeah. I definitely want to get that loot before we head out.
Also, a question if anyone knows the answer...
There's that scroll of ghostbane dirge we found beyond the secret door. That spell is from the APG. Since it is a 2nd level Bard spell, does that mean Corey has access to that spell to add to his repertoire from now on? Or can I only access it via scrolls?

This blog states:
Other PCs able to cast spells—spontaneously or from a divine spell list that does not depend on a spellbook—can learn spells they find in scroll form so long as they buy the scroll and expend it to add the spell to her list of legal spells; spontaneous spellcasters must still expend known spell slots in order to learn the spell. These PCs cannot learn non-Core spells from spellbooks.

Awesome. Thank you, Valen. After the scenario, if you could subtract 150 gp from my gp earned and note on the sheet that the scroll of ghostbane dirge was purchased and expended to add to spell repertoire, I'd greatly appreciate it.

GM Valen |

We have finished Part 2. I will get chronicle sheets out early next week. If you need one sooner, let me know.
In-game Part 3 picks up shortly after the conclusion. I wanted to check when folks wanted to pick up Part 3.
For my part, I will be travelling between May 22 and May 30 and won't likely be posting during that time. If you don't mind that gap, then we can begin next week.
I don't know if anyone else has plans, so I wanted to check in before we just start up again.

![]() |

I can start as soon as possible.

![]() |

Ready when you are.

Confused a bit about Slow Track and could use some help.
I started this at level five with 14 Chronicle sheets. So, two Chronicles in to level 6. I went slow track on part one. Do I go slow track on this one, brining me to level 6.0 (no chronicles yet towards level 7)?
Did that make sense at all?

![]() |

Do you mean going slow track on this part just gone or the part coming up?

![]() |

This part. And do I need to go slow track on the next part? I remember hearing one needs to go slow track for an entire level. But what happens if you start going slow in between levels? Like, with only one Chronicle away from the next level.
Edit:
I found this:
Slow Advancement: A player may opt to use the slow
advancement at the beginning of an adventure, in which
case the PC earns only half the normal XP, gp, and
Prestige Points. Doing so extends the effective “lifespan”
of a character. You still receive the full benefits of any
Downtime activities, such as Day Job checks.
So apparently I can choose to go slow track with just one scenario if I want.
I'm going to go slow track on all three parts and for a couple scenarios after. Until I'm 7th level.

@Theron: Niiiice! :-D
"Also, what appears to be a belt of mighty constitution +2 is in fact cursed," he reveals. "Most likely the result of the Emerald Sage’s magic, and instead serves as a belt of weakness."
"Chances of it being cursed are quite low if they wore it willingly..."
Huh. What are the chances that only this item that I commented on is cursed? It's a good thing nobody put it on (as far as I remember)...

![]() |

I absolutely don't mind the pause till after May 30. And of course I'm waiting for the next game.
PS My low activity is mainly due to the fact that I have been a little overloaded mentally in recent weeks and I am slightly lacking inspiration for role-playing. But like everything in life, it's temporary, so I'm with you.

Given the structure of the scenario, my schedule, and an apparent lack of a strong preference one way or another, it makes sense to me to get the briefing out of the way before my trip and then pick up with the remainder of the scenario on June 2nd.

![]() |

I'm ok with waiting till the 30th. I'm switching PCs too.
You might not want to switch PCs after you see the chronicle we'll get from part 2. It's pretty amazeballs.

GM Valen |

It appears that I failed to collect chronicle information for Part 2, so please fill out the requested information here.
Once I have everyone's info, I will create the chronicle sheets.

Player name: Roll4initiative
Character name: Corenthiir
PFS#: 17148-14
Faction: Grand Lodge
XP progression (slow/normal): SLOW
Day job roll: At the local tavern, Corey tells wild tales about his past adventures.
Perform (oratory), take 10+11=21 (20 gp)
"Thank you! Haha! Your tips are greatly appreciated!"

Ashtoret, please fill out your info at the link above. I'm dying to get my chronicle! Thanks! ;)

Isn't there a set of chronicles with the mythic stuff for each of us?

GM Valen |

Isn't there a set of chronicles with the mythic stuff for each of us?
Oops. Yes, they weren't included by RPGChronicles. The blank sheets are posted on Slides so you can view them.
I need to use my other computer to create the pdfs for each PC, so individual chronicle sheets will come later.

![]() |

It's in the third chronicle, as far as I remember.
No, they're given at the end of part 2 to be used in part 3.

![]() |

So we have a seventh PC? Or did someone drop?
Yeah. What's up? 7 players now?

![]() |

There are as many of us as there were, it seems.
Qstor changed his character.

![]() |

Qstor changed his character.
Ah. Ok. Unfortunately, Qstor won't be able to use the Mythic Chronicles from part 2.
Don't forget to use those, everyone. You get a +2 to one ability score, all of the special abilities on sheet 1, and a choice of two abilities from the second sheet.
I'm choosing Legendary Magic and Rally from sheet 2.

![]() |

Going to spend 1 Prestige Point to get a single scroll with 6 endure elements on it.
Casting one of the EE spells on the first day we head out into the desert.

![]() |

any temp increases for Theron from the Mythic stuff will be in brackets in my header/profile...forgot the mythic stuff...
also...i have a copy of Mythic Adventures...so i can use that as well? adding three mythic tiers and using some of the listed abilities? sweeeeet.....

![]() |

All of my Mythic increases are marked with an asterisk *.

![]() |

Oops. Forgot to adjust new mythic initiative and perception on slide with macros. It's done now. He went from +5 initiative to +10!
