Stay classy, people.
Actually, from the suggestion back a-ways, I think a camping expedition (that does NOT turn Lord of the Flies) would be fun and full of potential shenanigans, but my character is biased toward that.

I'm going to try and post this evening but... I may be unavoidably called out of town for a couple days, most likely later this week, if so I will have limited or no internet access. If it happens I may not have any ability to post a further heads up. If have I haven't posted in more than 30 hours on any alias, please assume I'm out of the loop for several days and bot if needed

So I wonder if there is going to be more to the cook-rest cycle? I'm kinda ocming up blank with how to interact with others. Maybe somehtign from the outside to shake things up?
Invited to cook at a secluded estate that has rumors of being cursed/haunted? Kinda like Clive Barker's Undying. Huge mansion, grounds, catacombs and so on.

Mimi, Master of Chop Fu |

I hear you, Philip. Of course I saddled myself with a fairly nonsocial character which is my own fault, it's still hard to find ways to open up for interaction. Especially as most folks are RPing that they're just going back to their room after the action happens.
Firedove, how much freedom do we have on downtime? Are there things we can instigate between competitions? Could we organize a shopping trip to town? Could we explore the manor? I realize some of this would require some response from you, but is there some stuff we can make up as we go along?
I mean, you're talking about being in a weird, huge, mysterious estate, but we're actually already in one....

GM Firedove |

Okay, your characters have no way of knowing this, but...
The weekly food themes somewhat mirror stages of this game:
Romance/infatuation/excitement/just getting into the game
Comfort/familiarity/are we getting stuck in a rut?
Exotic ...
... Well, I'm not going to spoil all my surprises ... Hang in there with me... ;)

Mimi, Master of Chop Fu |

that's good to know, Firedove. Given the slow pace of the game however, is it okay to explore in the meantime?

Mimi, Master of Chop Fu |

Will be away from boards tomorrow through Sunday. If you're able to move things on within that time, by all means bot Mimi as needed.

I am back, although the Firedove/Tacticslion family appears to still be absent, and we are thus without a GM and a fellow player.
I'll make a comment I did in Tac's last game: do you guys need to formally hiatus?
I get busy family times. I really do. At the same time, we're sitting here waiting, not knowing when the next post is going to happen, and we're taking time out of our busy days to try to be sure we keep up. I would feel much better being told "check back in two weeks" than checking continuously while not knowing if the GM has disappeared forever.

This makes total sense.
Your timing is interesting (39 minutes before starting this post!): this is the first time I've had: a) internet access, b) lack of thunderstorms, c) access to a reasonable posting device, d) lack of constant family stuff, and e) mental energy since, oh, I dunno... July 19th, 9:17 PM [Pacific Time], give or take.
My apologies - at least in a fair part it's been on my end. Between kids, summer, travel, and the like my mental energy has been consumed. Similarly, Lady Firedove has been working hard, but has been informed that the school she teaches at is changing schedules from something that most all the faculty and staff have loved to an arcane and labyrinthine mess of nonsense, and having the classes she teaches shuffled around on her.
However, my son is now in school, and I'm back at home... which should allow me to work more on chores and free up time for both of us now. Hopefully!
Anyway, to game-posts... Lord willing.
EDIT:
Also, there's this. Stuff like this keeps happening. "Okay, I've got two hours - plenty of time for forum catch-up! Games ahoy! ... aaaaaand power's out/internet is down/modem stopped working/forum goblins/surprise thunderstorm/<insert current event>. Of course it is."

Someone find that Pugwampi and smoosh it
Did the pugwampi make off with our GM?
Looks like it
H-hey! I'm a tactical lion, not a Pugwampi!

Mimi, Master of Chop Fu |

Yikes, I didn't mean to start a conversation that would prompt folks to leave... :( just concerned about making sure we're able to communicate.
Tac -- and Firedove, whom I hope we'll hear from directly soon -- I'm sorry to hear you've had such frustrating issues. Still, we seem to only hear from Firedove in particular every 2-3 weeks which has been a trend for awhile, even prior to storm season. If it's just a matter of that's what the pace of the game will be -- please tell us, I know I can at least adjust. You can't help if the power goes out, but if you know work is going to cause delays, etc. that we can get a heads up about, that would be helpful. (My parents were both teachers, I know how disruptive changes in schedules/plans/curriculum/structure etc. can be.)
If it's helpful, you're welcome to SMS text to my email address if you've lost power again so I can let the group know. ;)

GM Firedove |

Greetings, wonderfully patient players!
I sincerely apologize for the delay.
End-of-summer family fun and travels transitioned quickly into teacher-madly-getting-everything-ready-for-the-school-year craziness, which has now merged into first-couple-weeks-of-school chaos.
I still have what I hope is an exciting story that I would like to share with you in this game, when life calms down a bit. So I hope most of you will be able to hang in there and stick around for a bit more. I understand if you can't.
Peace and joy to you all! :)

Mimi, Master of Chop Fu |

Firedove, it's been a month with no word. Should we presume the game is dead?
If so, would you please set the game to inactive?
I hope all is well.
