Hey folks. My computer went on the fritz Monday. It’s in the shop now, should be out late this week (hopefully). I hate posting on mobile, but I’ll do my best to keep up.

Nope. Only been mentioned once in the discussion the ad before this as a good idea, and in gameplay Nurah had one

You should be fine. You have enough combat power, arcane casting, and buff/debuff support, plus a reasonable level of healing. I plan to use Sosiel to fill in the gaps that you have in divine casting when it's feasible to do so.
I'll rebalance encounters as needed. So far you have been dealing with things just fine, even with the difficulty knob turning up (the last combat with the nabasu ended quickly thanks to lucky die rolls, but it had a harrowing start with equally unlucky ones...)

Kinda wish I was rolling this well when combat was going down...
Still, a natural 20 for drawing!
Hard to argue with that as a result. I interpret such a high roll in this case as, "you can make the drawing very quickly, producing a very accurate image from memory in very little time".
I kind of wish the skill system worked more like that. High rolls allow you to meet DC's with less effort, less time, more grace, etc. Then absurdly high rolls would be somewhat meaningful, reflecting a skilled person's ability to make certain tasks look easy.

It is almost time--past time, really, but I've been lazy--to create a new thread for this game. One whose name matches where we are in the books. :) I'll title it "The Siege of Drezen" since that is more descriptive than "Sword of Valor".

Yes and no. :)
I am using Nurah's backstory mostly straight from the book, filling it out a bit to make her more than one-dimensional. As written, her story arc is pretty thin, and not particularly believable.
The precise timing is a coincidence, as I worked out the timeline for Nurah using the dates for the previous crusades. But I did use pieces of Alexa's backstory with Hulrun to put things together in a way that was consistent.

Rather than do exposition through a giant wall of text, I'm going to break this up so that your characters have a chance to ask questions as we go.
GM the Fifth wrote: It provides a +2 bonus on saves against future effects. If a target of the spell is already under mental control, they are immediately given another save at +2 against the effect. The guard rolled 7+1+2=10 against an SLA with a DC of 21. FYI. I did get this slightly wrong, but not in a way that impacted the fight. Protection from Evil will completely block new attempts at mental control.
Male Tiefling (Pitborn) Bard (Filidh) 7|HP: 88/88|AC: 15/10/15|Saves: +3 Fort, +5 Ref, +5 Will|Init: +0|Perc: +12
This is certainly different from how Nurah reveals her story in the PC game!

As written, she is not very believable. She admires the demons for their strength and power, yet somehow the PC's come along and that changes. It makes her sound fickle, and that what she respects is the power itself, not who wields it. That's not really a redemption story, and redemption is supposed to be a theme of the campaign.
So I took advice from another GM and made it about vulnerability and safety. Who could protect her, and what would be the consequences of accepting that protection?
Male Tiefling (Pitborn) Bard (Filidh) 7|HP: 88/88|AC: 15/10/15|Saves: +3 Fort, +5 Ref, +5 Will|Init: +0|Perc: +12
Yeah, the game has her be much more cynical and spiteful. What's notable is you can't get through to her with goody-goody redemption responses and stuff, which she just laughs off, but basically agreeing with her (via Trickster dialogue options) that both the demons and crusaders need to be taken down a peg, so you let her escape back to the enemy, but she begins sabotaging them too.
