If you’ll forgive the intrusion ... the wording of the charter you received suggests that death by sword and rope has always been the punishment for banditry against Brevoy – very likely the bandits in the area know what risk they are taking in attacking an area under Brevoy’s protection (as Oleg’s seems to be). You can probably also assume that the bandits here are not making their living entirely off Oleg – presumably they are also raiding into Brevoy itself. In which case, exiling them north – into Brevoy – might not be in the best interest of all involved.
Doesn’t mean that you can’t change things, just wanted to highlight what the status quo probably is.

One of the things that's interesting about this AP is how it throws up some issues of responsibility which don't occur in other games I've had to date. However, Waggy is right to the extent that you haven't been given an explicit mandate to build a kingdom yet, although you are also pretty much the law no matter which way you look at it.

Ragadolf |

Yep, this game is fun in new and interesting directions. ;)
However, I agree that we are, (no matter how good you are at not acting on player knowledge) probably reacting to the 'Kingmaker' title and maybe thinking a LITTLE ahead! ;P
To the case in hand here;
I agree that we should TRY to set up a standard by which criminals (both bandits and townies) will be tried. And it should be harsh, but fair. What we really want to avoid is a mob of people mad at us because we killed one guy, but let the other go, without any fair and provable line to judge by.
We should definitely make a declaration/proclamation/ get the word out that the law is here in town. Part of the reason I like the beat/release is because it helps with that!
I also want to avoid the 'body part=punishment' stuff, It may or may not have worked in ancient persia, but lets not start chopping off criminals hands just yet! ;P Besides which, Branding and such may point out who is/was a criminal, but do not help a poor person get back to work.
I like the work-release, BUT as pointed out, we have limited ability to guard/watch such people.
AND as has been pointed out, beat/release may be the simplest/easiest for us right now, but it really just makes them someone else's problem, and may come back to bite us if/when Brevoy officials get wind of it.
Man, did I ever create the wrong character for a morality play! ;)
Hm, I just noticed that I offered not one solution,.... bummer,... I'll think some more tonight, try again tomorrow,...

Okay, sometimes I hate real-life. I've got one of those "when it rains - it pours" situations. My boss just called me (on a sunday when he knows i'm out of town) to let me know two of my guys are quitting... so on top of the already strained work-load, we're short-handed. Long story short, I think Thom is a casualty of real life.
Why don't you guys write Thom into the background (or out - if you think that's better, Aubrey). I'll let you guys handle how that goes down, but I don't want to be the guy who is constantly slowing the game down or having to be npc'd because of absence.
I really appreciate the shot, Aubs, and I'll be lurking your games when I can (hopefully).
Good luck with the kingdom-making, guys (when you get to that point, anyway). :D

OK, Eben, if you are sure about that. You seemed to be enjoying the game and while I know real life can throw up the "odd difficulty" (and I know you have a young 'un too in the background) I suggest we leave Thom back at Oleg's for now and if you want to come back you can dust him off and start again. Hopefully you can replace your missing men and get back into it. I leave it up to you.
Speaking of which, has anyone heard from Old Guy recently? I know he has had connection problems but it has been quite a while (July 29 to be precise) since Quinn has been seen in person.

What do people think about advertising for a new player or players? I'm a little uncomfortable running with just four players. While Eben and Old Guy may well come back, they may well not, and they may not be the only attrition we get anyway (life being what it is).

Peasant Railgun |
I saw your ad in Gamer Connection and would be interested in joining a 4e campaign set in Golarion.
I'd like to see a couple more meat shields, er, combat-worthy personnel, in the group! ;)
I guess defender is the role that's most urgently needed?

Peasant Railgun |
That was... fast.
OK, I'm looking for two. Strictly in terms of speed of response, I think Lynore and Glod pipped Peasant Railgun. So sorry, PG, but things can change so please keep eye out.
It's cool! I would have given my spot to one of the brothers anyway, so that they could both join your game.

As my sister Sefra indicated, we were siblings traveling abroad, we recently were called back home, when we learned of your group in the area and thought we would catch up with old companions. As you recall I like our recently departed comapanion is also a follower of the woodland ways.

Thanks Aubrey, but on further deliberation, I have to decline for now. Real life has been hectic, forcing me to drop the PBP's I was running, and I'm not 100% certain I can commit to playing yet. If you don't mind, I'll keep an eye on this and wait for the next opening (I built a hobgoblin battlemind just for this game).

@ Aubrey I updated Terra's profile
Hope you don't mind that I peeked. It looks like you need to adjust your NADS (Non-AC Defenses).
Fort is better of Str & Con bonus & so should be Fort 13Ref is better of Dex & Int bonus +1 for Druids, so should be Ref 11
Will defense looks ok, the better of Wis & Cha bonuses +1. Will 16
I also noticed your speed is 8. I'm not all-knowing so there might be a bonus you get from somewhere, or since elves normally have a speed of 7, it might also be a typo, so I thought I'd point that out.
Hope I'm not being too much of a nosey busy-body.
Oh... oh yes. Welcome!
Edits: More stuff, hit points seem high. I would expect them to be 28 @ 1st level with a 16 Con, but maybe Auspicious birth grants more? ALso you seem to have shorted yourself on surges per day Druids get 7+Con mod, so it should be 10 healing surges per day.
Hmmm... looking above, I guess I'm the nosey, chatty, busy-body! :D

One more thing - unless Raggy (or Aubrey) objects, the new druid gets the set of magical Sylvan hide +1. That's how we prefer to divvy up treasure - items are assigned according to need and how useful they are to the PC, using the honour system to make sure it more or less evens out in the longer term.

Auspicious Birth lets you use your highest ability score to determine initial HP instead of Constitution.
Also, to comment on her sheet, I'm pretty sure you switched your Dexterity and Constitution scores on your sheet, since otherwise your defenses don't add up. (Also, elves do begin with Speed 7, so no mistake there.) Other than that, looks like a good character.

That's what I get for being lazy! Primal Predator +1 bonus to speed when in non-Heavy armor! And thanks on the info on Auspicious birth! Don't have that info handy at work. (which I should be leaving instead of staying at in order to post here!) Still... don't want her running out of healing surges!
Ok... ok... so let's see... that makes me a nosey, chatty, lazy, ignorant busy-body yeah?

Wagyu |

Color me embarrassed! On the drive home, I finally twigged to what Davi was saying and that fits the evidence much more than my ramblings!
Yeah, it appears Terra's Con & Dex are switched. I guess you plugged your stats in 4E order into the 3.5/Pathfinder character template. (The difference being Dex & Con locations!) Fix that & everything else makes sense! (Except that as Heimoth points out, you'll be getting +1 Sylvan Hide armor, so I guess you'll need to add that & adjust accordingly.)
Apologies for my uninformed blathering!

On Terra, 7 elf speed, +1 druid path
Ok... trying to save myself some embarrassment, I plugged in your info to Character Builder and the only thing that picked up is that it says you should have 32 gp instead of 31. CB lists Ki Focus as costing 0 gp under Adventuring Gear. My guess is that's where the difference comes from. So... need another 30 arrows? :P

OK, ghetto. Thanks for being understanding.

You hinted at your characters knowing Quinn. While that isn't a bad start, it isn't really motivation to want to engage in a big bitof exploration and kingdom-building. So I think you need to build on that angle a bit. Also, elves are on the chaotic side, so again that might mean you would need some more unusual motivations, and reasons behind those - unusual motivations for elves, anyway.
I thought I would insert you more or less now, so you can go on the inaugural exploration.
