Coolville. Have fun Aub!

Enjoy your time off!

Sorry I went offline & wasn't around for the follow-up of the questioning. I see Aleph filled in nicely. He may not have rolled too well on his intimidate skill, but it appears his up in the grill rapid-fire questions worked pretty well. I'll pretend my prep work helped! :P

The questioning seems to be going well.

Shall we try the same approach with the other bandit as a way to confirm this info?

Try the same tactic with Happ? Or use some other method? Maybe let Heimoth or Aleph lead off with intimidate on Happ instead?

Ha! Aleph's so helpful! (It's disturbing how knowledgeable he is on this matter...)

m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon)

Happ gets the Chelaxian Throat Weasel. once I figure out what that means.

Okay, this is everyone's official warning...

My firstborn is due to be born anywhere from this next week through the beginning of July. This could mean a dramatic increase or decrease in my ability to post. if the game suffers, I apologize, but lets' face it... he and my wife will be my priority. I'll try to let you know when it happens, though.

consider yourself warned.

Also, this means your little one is getting closer, too, huh, Aubs? Hope all is going well in that department!

Thanks for asking, all OK so far.

Best wishes for you, your Mrs and the little impending one.

Let's see, French Wolf, Aub, Thomdril,...
It's a veritable baby bonanza!
;)

On a side note, I just got a call from my eldest son. (From a previous fiasco,... er, marriage)
It seems his wife is pregnant.

Well beat me, whip me and call me 'Grandpa'!
;P

Cool. Hopefully my little boy (we now know the sex) will be interested too, assuming his mother will let him hang out with his dad's weird friends.

He got to hang out because ahe wanted some peace on Saturday nights when I ran my games, now he wants to be there every night.

side note: how 'bout that England v US match? Very lucky goal for us!

The games so far have been... variable, so much so that I'm starting to reconsider my strategy of getting up at 5 in the morning to watch the "intermediate" matches. Portugal-Côte d'Ivoire tomorrow will probably be worth it, though. Ah, the joys of summer break...

The England-US result was fair enough. If anything, the match showed that neither team is all that good. Thus far only Germany, the Netherlands, Ghana and, to a lesser extent, Argentina have looked really good. It'll be interesting to see how much effort Brazil will dredge up against North Korea.

Um... Well, maybe next time I'll visit New Orleans. Oh, and congratulations!

Bloody Germany, grumble, grumble.

South Korea looked pretty good too ... or maybe Greece were just really sh#te.

South Korea looked pretty good. Having said that, the Greeks f~$!ing suck. I still haven't forgiven them for winning the Euro 2004 by playing the worst, most destructive football in tournament history, knocking off an amazing Czech team in the most flukish way. That they made it to the World Cup is an insult to good football everywhere. I'd root for Sweden over Greece.

Hahaha... Germany won! Not really, damn Germany. I have to put up with my father gloating about it.

However... Woot! South Korea won! :D

I am now declaring this thread an official football-free zone for the duration of the World Cup. And beyond.

Well, i'll give you all a quik update before i dive back in. It has been a crazy week. Our little boy is healthy, but has some trouble feeding, so it's been a challenging week.

I had thought maybe i'd get the odd hour to post, but I really have't done anything but feed, clean, change diapers, eat, and sleep.

I hope you all are doing fine, and I'm still interesting in playing as life comes to some normalcy, I'm just still not sure if that will be in a week or a month.

I hope you all can wait that long, but I'll undersatnd if you need to sideline/remove Thom for the good of the game. Either way, I've appreciated your patience and kind words.

Until then, we're just humming along with my new "lvl 0 henchman" (coined by a player in another thread).

I'll update you when i can, and let you know when i can post again.

No probs - you can come back in when things get a bit quieter.

Heheh, "Lvl 0 Henchman", I have to remember that one! :)
Good Luck and God bless your growing group of adventurers! ;)

On my side, Just a note to let all know that I will be traveling on a family visit this week. I may have occasional internet access, but nothing consistent. If so I will post when able.

I should be back to 'normal' by next Sat, or Sun at latest.

Have a happy 4th!

So what the hell is head cheese, then - it sounds pretty revolting.

"Recipe: take one head...."

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

The Norwegian version of it is basically alternating layers of pig-head meat, gelatin and fat which is then pressed together and boiled in a water-bath in the oven. It's one more of those recipes that's designed to get some use out of some otherwise wasted pieces of meat, I guess. The taste's not too bad, but I hate the consistency of it.

So there is something worse than lutefisk, then?

Aubrey the Malformed wrote:

Dunno 'bout that but the wife's grandparents used to make head cheese all the time on their farm in Ohio. Goat-cheese they called it.

m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon)

Wikipedia says in the UK/Wales it's called brawn. So whatever that is, that's headcheese.

The Exchange

Now, brawn I have heard of, but didn't actually know what it was.

No. Lutefisk is far worse than sylte. If you pick out the layers of fat, it's like really dense and heavy pork Spam. Not my thing, but it's far from inedible. Now, lutefisk, on the other hand, smells, looks and tastes like five day old vomit. Much, much worse than head cheese.

m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon)

I like radishes.

I think that they ALL sound gross!
:P
Except radishes.
Radishes are ok.

And speaking of radishes! (No, not really!)

I shall be absent this weekend myself. I have the opportunity to attend Mechacon (Anime Convention) in NEw Orleans this weekend. (Fri-Sun, July 16-18) So I shall be out of touch till Sunday night. At the earliest. Monday Morning at the latest.

I'm going to participate in the 2nd of 6 planned mega-scenarios for Star Wars (scenarios planned over 6 years, Both RPG and Minis!)

Wish me luck! :D

m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon)

here today; afk til Thursday; gonna take a little trip.

I'm B-A-A-A-aaack! :D

(ANd the crowd goes wild!)

I went. I had fun. I returned.

NOW I'm fighting two armfulls of Poison Ivy that I apparently got in my backyard before I left! (No rest for the wicked,...) ;P
