So, re: foraging. We now are:
Heathy - Aelph (Human Infernal Warlock)
Raggy - Marc Wyvernspur (Human Dragon Sorcerer)
Vatters - Heimoth (Half-elf Paladin)
Waggy - Hasren Gunnarson (Half-Elf Bard)
Glodders - Terra Everbloom (Elf Druid)
Detters - Sefra Everbloom (Elf Monk)
As 5 PCs are needed for surveying, Terra's off doing foraging. The rest of us can assist on her roll; Sefra and Heimoth have already done so.
Having said that, we probably don't want the druid zooming around alone in case something happens... How often do we need to forage? Perhaps we should do it every other or even every third day?

It takes ~1 hr and a 15 roll nets just enough food for one person, the max roll is a 25 which nets you enough food for 10 people for 1 day, so almost a day and a half for this group. I could forage in the area you are surveying and just say I'm spending more time than the 1 hr as I'm in a smaller area?

That sounds sensible. After all, you don't want to wander off too far....
I suggest someone (probably Terra) keeps a running total of how many days' food we have (including rations) for convenience. If it comes to it, assume it is evenly distributed bewteen you.

Sounds good I'll start compiling what we have and what we get. I'll post it whenever you "start a new day as an ooc" The DM guide didn't break down how to select on the scale how many people you provide for so I was thinking 15-16 1 person 17 2 18 3 19 4 20 5 21 6 22 7 23 8 24 9 25 10 since it indicated 25 was max that work for you on the scale?
Oh and welcome back hope you feel better.

I'd suggest, as a guide:
15-16 = 1
17-18 = 2
19-21 = 3
22-24 = 4
25-28 = 5
29-33 = 6
34-39 = 7
40-46 = 8
47-54 = 9
55+ = 10
Bear in mind, DCs will move depending on how hostile the terrain is.
I suggest you simply keep count of man-days of food. If the party started off with 80 days of rations, and on the scale above and a final score of 35 from the foraging (based on the rolls in the other thread) that equals 7 rations found. Subtract 6 eaten for the day, that's 81 rations at the end of day 1.

My doctor has signed me off work for a week to rest my arm and shoulder. On that basis, I'm going to avoid using my home computer too, so I won't be posting for a week. I'm sorry for all the disruption to the games, but hopefully this will do the trick.

Hey guys, hope you don't mind me posting in here. I've been reading your campaign thread and am thoroughly enjoying it. I just wanted to let you all know that I love the role playing you guys are all doing as well as Aubrey's vivid descriptions!
I got so into reading the thread I was disappointing when I caught up, lol. I look forward to seeing how you all do. I've never played 4e before and its been nice watching you all learn it as well. I'm also VERY interested in how the Kingmaker adventure path goes. That aspect fascinates me. If you guys ever need another player, I'll happily fill any roll.
(p.s. this is my first post on this board so if commenting like this is out of line please delete my post and accept my apologies).
also I'm'a roll a die just to see how this feature works :)
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
hmmm paizo seems to like me as much as my real dice *rolls eyes*

Figured this might be a less immersion-breaking place to let everyone know I've updated Hasren to 2nd level.
Also, in updating, I noticed I'd totally forgotten about the Virtue of Valor. As of 2nd level, it's now new & improved thanks to my 2nd level feat. The first person I notice bloodying or taking to 0HP a foe gains a +2 bonus to their next damage roll before the end of their next turn in addition to 4 temp HPs!
| Wagyu |
That's a nice ability.
I'm still trying to get used to the fact that the sorcerer has the same attack bonuses as me and can take almost as much punishment. 4E is really different from just about any other level-based RPG I've played in that respect.
I think as a weapon user you can eke out a slight edge to hit with good weapon choice & feat support. Your total bonus to hit will be higher, though your target (AC) will tend to be higher too.
Also, as far as ability to take punishment, remember quite a bit of healing depends on surges. Your 13 surges to Marc's 7 means you can soak up quite a bit more damage during a day than he can. The way Aubrey's dice have been going, you're probably going to be glad you do have that extra healing capacity...

Heh, is 'Man-flu' transmittable over internets? ;P
Just FYI-
My son is sick (Caught a cold, first of the school year, JUST in time for Christmas!) ;P And I think I'm getting it too. (Double ;P)
Also busy with the usual holiday nonsense, making candy, pies, cookies, etc. And have travel planned (IF I don't get sick!) So, I may drop off the radar at any time. Should be back by Jan 3 at the latest.
My prayers to all of those with expectant wives and sick kids,
and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all! :)
(Or is that 'boxing day' to our English friends?) ;)
