For the medal, hm. Fortitude and Arcane seem underwhelming since I already have those skills. I don't want ever want to be making INT or WIS checks, but since Nyctessa has mythic Knowledge, I guess I'll take Divine?

Just checking that this all would work?

1) Someone else encounters the villain at Locust Shrine.
2) Amaryllis tempcloses the Abattoir.
3) Whoever encounters the villain summons and encounters an Ivory Templar at Locust Shrine.
4) Before Ivory Templar encounter, Amaryllis dimension leaps to Locust Shrine.
5) Someone somewhere summons a Devastator.
Then:
5a) If Amaryllis gets devastated: she can use ultimate marshal to gives 5 mythic counters out at Locust Shrine.
5b) If someone not at the Locust Shrine gets devastated: Amaryllis can take one of the villain combat checks.
5c) If someone besides Amaryllis at the Locust Shrine gets devastated, Amaryllis can either give out mythic counters or take a villain check, whichever is more helpful.
6) Villain cannot escape to the Abattoir, even though Amaryllis is no longer there.

I think this is a bit non-intuitive, but Before the Encounter was RotR speak for BYA, which means that "Before the encounter" is actually after "When you encounter." Reread that. It's confusing, i know.

The Mummy Mask rulebook still apparently used the old verbiage for the timing of temp closes to be "Before a character encounters" but the core rulebook has made this clear by including the guard step in the normal encounter sequence rather than letting people interpret the old "Before the encounter" verbaige:

Core Rulebook pg 9 wrote:


1. Apply any effects that happen when you encounter a card
2. Apply any evasion effects
3. Villain step: attempt to guard distant locations
4. Apply any effects that happen before acting

With this in mind, the scenario rule, Dimension Leap, and Ultimate marshall are all when a card is encountered (step 1). and guarding is step 3. Devestator is step 4.

To break it down:
1. Someone else encounters the villain at Locust Shrine. I'll use Nyctessa to make this easier to follow
2. When Nyctessa encounters the villain, she summons and encounters an Ivory Templar
3.Next are temp closes. Before the villain encounter, Amaryllis tempcloses the Abattoir.
4. Before Nyctessa acts, a random other character summons Devestator.
5. There is now a "When you encounter a card" step that Dimension leap could be activated.
5a. Amaryllis would be by herself if she got the Devestator and she wouldn't be able to dimension leap.
5b. If someone not at the Locust Shrine (lets say Ramexes) gets devestated then Amaryllis will be by herself.
5c. This only works if someone else (Lets say Uliah) is with Nyctessa at Locust Shrine and Uliah summons Devestator. At that point Amaryllis can dimension leap to Locust Shrine and since Ultimate marshall is also "When a character encounters" you get to choose the order of those steps and you could dimension leap and immediately ultimate marshall to give the charges to a Nyctessa (or give to Uliah). This occurs before the Devestators "while you act" that prevents the use of mythic charges being spent.
6. Assuming 5c worked out, you're correct that Villain couldn't escape to Abattoir even though Amaryllis isn't there.

To be clear, I still used MM's rulebook for this one, but i pointed out the core verbiage to show that the intent has been spelled out now to be more clear.


I think I'm going to forfeit the normal upgrade, and take Spell 6 Sign of Wrath for my bonus upgrade. (I was thinking about trying to get a Blessing 6 of Nethys, but Ramexes has been so effective at examining, I'm not sure it's worth it!)

For my card feat, I'm torn between adding another Blessing of the Gods or Blessing of Iomedae. (And amused at how in Adv 6 of WotR I'm deciding between Blessing Bs!) Right now I'm leaning towards Blessing of Iomedae, but I'm going to sleep on it.

I might be interested in the redeemed loot, depending on the scenario setup. But I already have gotten lots of Loot Items to choose from, so if anyone else wants, definitely go for it.

Question: Since I have never actually asked about how it works in OP or in general...when we get the choice of checking something off the Redemption card...can I check something off my personal one? Or do those cards never get redeemed.

Card Feat: Considering how often I've found myself without a weapon in hand lately, I think it's best if I try to make that not happen. Uliah will take a Weapon Card Feat.

Medal: Of Valor (Melee: Strength +5)

Deck Upgrades: Uliah also has the ability to take an extra deck upgrade, but I think I will hold it off for the last mission, unless my top 2 choices end up being uncontested.

Good question. I'm not too sure. I was under the impression that when they refer to the Redemption card they're talking about specifically the game box redemption card. This was something that was supposed to be improved in the latest guide, but still isn't the most clear about the intent. RAW speaking, it sounds like you could technically redeem from your class deck card. In general I go by RAW unless intent is very clear. So I'd say feel free to redeem a card.

The Hell's Vengeance 2 redemption card is kind of silly in that there is no way to redeem cards on it by itself. HV1 deck has an item 2 that they can use. So for an HV2 character they would need to be passed that Item2, or there is maybe 1-2 cards in the Wrath set that lets you redeem. One of those is a location where i think you banish a corrupted card and then get to redeem a card when it is closed (something like that...been a while).

Another way is to get the Season 4 Capstone reward which lets you pick a corrupted boon from each HellsVengeance deck and add it to your class deck. If you used that you could get the item2 that lets you redeem cards and put it in your HV2 deck.

I believe that's everything. My understanding is ramexes only wanted spell 6 leftover, so that would've gone to Nyctessa. There is an item 6 leftover, but I'm not sure Nyctessa is thinking right boon to take an extra deck upgrade. The welcome boon gives you a bonus card feat or lets you revive. The boon Uliah is using to get an extra deck upgrade is from being a BR during a convention

Did i miss anything?

I'm happy to announce that the Adventure Deck 3 reward has been errata'ed. Previously it gave a role card and power feat which was already covered by the organized play guide at the time. Now the new reward reads:

"Each player unlocks the ability to play Arueshalae from the Wrath of the Righteous Demon’s Heresy Adventure
Deck using the Hell’s Vengeance 2 Character Deck. When Arueshalae is Tier 3 or higher, you may add the loot
cards Spherewalker Staff, Starbow, and Swallowtail Bracers to your Class Deck box."

If no one else wants the Spell 5, I'm toying with the idea of upgrading Swipe into Blizzard. Swipe makes 1 combat check easier by 3, whereas Blizzard adds +2d6 and Cold to all combat checks for the whole turn. However, Blizzard deals 1 Cold damage to everyone else at end of turn.
Any opinion?

Actually, with a Spell 5 Uliah could get Hallow, which I would have never considered a worthy spell until I read the description for this scenario.

This might be the one time this spell is actually good. This could buy us a lot of turns at the cost of putting Uliah at a bit higher danger of dying (which I'm willing to do).

At the risk of getting ahead of ourselves, I tried formulating a Pazuzu strategy.

I feel like Transmogrify and Dire Griffin are too good not to be part of the effort, since they'd help all 3 checks to defeat. And because of Dire Griffin, I feel like it's best to let 1 person handle all 3. (That also lets us focus on only passing 1 of the before acting checks. That means that we can get by with 3 open locations + Eagle Rock. Which we currently already have.

First we'd need to find Pazuzu and make sure he's the next card up at Eagle Rock. Either Ramexes scouting or Nyctessa using Ultimate Archmage at Eagle Rock.
And we'd decide who will fight Pazuzu. I'd still vote Nyctessa (we can load her up the most on mythic counters, and her ability to add d4s). But there could be advantages to each of us. (Amaryllis gets rerolls, Uliah gets bonuses, Ramexes has the best weapon combat.) The basic plan is similar for whoever does the fighting; I'll assume Nyctessa for the an example.

1) We take a round to rendezvous at whichever location Amaryllis plans to tempclose, ideally one with a known safe top card. Uliah uses Consecration to make sure we're good on time.
2) Amaryllis gives her most useful card (healed and redrawn Dire Griffin) to Nyctessa. Then explore. At the start of the encounter,
Ultimate Marshal x3 to give 15 mythic counters to Nyctessa.
3) Uliah gives his most useful card to Nyctessa, then moves somewhere to tempclose.
4) Ramexes gives his most useful card to Nyctessa, then moves somewhere to tempclose.
5) Nyctessa moves to Eagle Rock, discards Dire Griffin to explore, uses Transmogrify. We tempclose, focus on helping Nyctessa pass the before acting check. Nyctessa fights Pazuzu x3.

Any thoughts? There's also good argument for closing 1 more location, to allow local support. (For 1 thing, it makes it easier to cast Transmogrify. Uliah in particular offers lots of local help.) And again, I'm probably getting ahead of ourselves.

Once we finalize deck upgrades then I'll get scenarios reported and chronicles posted.

And I can't recall if we've discussed this at some point - but who would be interested in another campaign? We could do any of the seasons as long as we could agree on something. Year6 - Year of Rotting Ruin is now out but we may have to wait for the AD's to come out occasionally since only 1 AD has been released so far. Core has 3 AD's, Curse has 6 AD's. There's also the We Be Heroes? which is two scenarios, Fangwood Thieves which is 1AD, and any of the older seasons. Just let me know if/where there is interest

I'm down to continue on this table. I've enjoyed playing with all of you very much.

I mentioned earlier in the discord channel that I personally would like to play Season of the Runelords to unlock Sharda and eventually play as her. It's also Season 2, so we could do some sort of progression through the Seasons!

Other than that, I'd like to play any of the full seasons that I haven't played: Runelords, Factions Favor, Sanctioned CoTC or Rotting Ruin.

Edit: I forgot. Deck-upgrade wise, the only real upgrade would be for Uliah to get the Ally 6. If anyone else wants to take that though, I'll concede it.

Ally 6 would be my only upgrade as well but it isn't that important.


Yes, this was lots of fun! And my first completed full PbP and OP Adventure Paths.

I'd be interested in playing Season of the Runelords, which I've BRed but never played it. Although all things being equal, I'd prefer waiting until after the GameDay VIII special ends, to prevent starting too many games at the same time. (It would also give me a chance to acquire Pathfinder Tales, since I'd like to try Celeste for that Adventure Path.)

For Amaryllis, I'll take the Spell 3 upgrade. (Because for some reason I kept Frost Ray instead of Swipe last upgrade.)

Sadly I am going to pass on another game. I think I am juggling too many games at the moment and the quality of my posting has been getting worse. (let me just say I was glad it was Nyctessa post that ended it my posts have been getting far too system stuff and not a lot else recently.

Waiting until after Gameday might be a good call for me too. I am heading up the ACG component of the gameday special, and I've also had this great idea of joining a PF2 table for gameday as a relatively new rpg player lol. At least it's a new system so everyone else might make mistakes too, right? :D

So lets go ahead and pick a campaign (so far seems like Season of Runelords might be be good if Nyctessa is up for it?). Once we pick a campaign, I can create a new campaign and have everyone dot it, then make both of the campaigns inactive. towards the end of October I'll reactivate the new game for check-in and we'll start after gameday (nov 3rd). I can also look for a new player or two in the meantime (I think 4 players is ideal but player attrition is a thing so might be better to start with 5?). We could also just go with 3 if there was strong preferences for that. Let me know if that all sounds agreeable or if there's any issues with that!

Also let me know if there's anything else needed! Again, it's been a pleasure! And I believe this makes my first full AP PBP I BR'ed for!

I also prefer having 4 players, but I think having 5 could be a good idea in case of player attrition, as you mentioned. That said, even 3 would be fun for me.

For scenario 2E, Amaryllis should have the CON medal (not WIS). And she took no upgrade (not Blessing B).
Also, 2C/2D/2E should be Tier 2 (not Tier 1).
The rest look good.
