Carr loses his patience. "Sir, I told you to apologize. You are not listening to me, and it is very irksome. You are very close to offending me, and that I assure you is not something you wish to do. Now, are you going to apologize and remedy this situation or am I going to split you from stem to stern and then burn you to ash? Then stomp on the ashes for good measure, of course. Can't let well enough alone." His face begins to shift but he halts the change, holding his form very carefully. "You would do well to heed my words before this gets extremely unpleasant for you. Bits of your men here, there, and all over the place."

Ok, botting J/J.

Carr moves to the nearest of the thugs, and just looks at him. "Really? I mean really, this isn't even fair. But you hit the bird-man. So..." Much as he feels very little guilt for most things, this is basically murder in cold blood. He does it however, because it's them or us, and it's not gonna be us.

Ting Tang

'It always amazes me how squishy these mammals are.' Ting draws his sword from the still twitching body of Belal, as he bends over to wipe the blade on Belal's shirt he looks up at the other 'tough' smiling his tengu smile, "You's want's ta be leavin' now, wroight?" nodding toward the exit.
Ting then begins to carefully and unceremoniously check the dead Belal for anything of value.
| GM Chyro |
The man slowly goes down to grab his sword, which he straps.
He takes his leave, unless anybody objects.
Belal carries a potion of CLW, a mwk dagger, 150 gp and a potion of sneaking.
Nasir is hurled up behind his desk.
"Here...the statue's here....now please just leave me alone....i'll have the proper amount of money next time...but please just go already!"
Carr
|
"We do not care for your money. We came for this statue, nothing more or less. Be well, Nasir, and in fact be better. Do better deeds, and if you find yourself confronted by would-be 'protectors', ensure their mettle." He dismisses the spell he had created, looking over at Ting Tang. "Well done. So, shall we go see Viraj now?"
| GM Chyro |
Yes, it's about a foot long or so i reckon, the description is vague on that.
| GM Chyro |
If you check the counter, you find Nasir's register/strongbox.
He hands you a statue of a giraffe.
Ok, unless anyone else feels like it, J/J can carry the statue.
The golden Giraffe statuette is 8 inches tall (approx 24 centimeters) and weighs 2 pounds.
It’s an accurate depiction of a giraffe, including carved markings to represent spots, eyes, and so on.
=====================
After wandering about at the Overmarket...you spot the guy!
What Torch said was true—he is unmistakable. Sitting on the rim of a fountain, the man appears to be contemplating the contents of a small intricately carved wooden box.
The many pouches of his flowing, bell-covered robes bulge with various small items, and wands and rods stick out from odd folds.
Under his arm he casually carries an item wrapped in shipping linens but by its shape it is almost surely a statue.
Carr
|
"Well, I think that is Viraj. Shall we walk up nonchalantly, or give him ample time to flee so that we have to track him down jingle-jangling all the while getting tired and less happy?" He 'asks' his companions. Carr considered already enlarging himself so that he can just reach out and grab the man by the head if he tried to run, but that's also not the nicest way to greet someone, being intimidating. He hoped that this encounter could be resolved peaceably.
Ting Tang
|
I like his jingly jangly bells, I should cut one of and sew it to my conical grass hat,' Ting listen to the small bells ringing with admiration. Ting lulls his tongue in a tengu smile as he cocks his head, and stands on one foot. "We's don't want's 'I'm ta runs off, he moight damage 'is floogin' little silver bells, wroight"
Ting drops his foot, resting one talon on the handle of his bastard sword, the other resting on his pouch he walks up to the bell covered man. "Moight you's be Viraj? We's be pathyfinner's. Tha bugger Torch told us we's could find ya 'ear, Wroight." ting nods his head a little, "OY, an' I loikes yer, jingly jangly bells too's"
ting introduces them as pathfinders and compliments the mans bells (He really likes the bells and will consider taking a dozen or so to put on his hat.)
| GM Chyro |
(He really likes the bells and will consider taking a dozen or so to put on his hat.)
And he calls the guard for theft of property.....maybe? :)
Viraj looks warily at Ting.
"Leave me alone, i'm in the middle of something, and it's important."
Ting Tang
|
will the guards be tougher than Belal?
ting shrugs his shoulders,"Well 'en down to's it. We's is 'ear ta make inquiries about a bloody stature sold ta you's by tha now deceased smuggler name o' Matzal Chaim's. We's is come ta collect it back, so's ta speak, wroight."
you purchased a statue, we want it back ;)
| GM Chyro |
City guards...those would be a deal tougher, and greater in number than 3.
Ting would make an awful secret agent, spilling the names of those involved. Viraj looks exceptionally tense.
He takes a wand from his belt, as well as jumping away from the spot he was sitting at.
"Stay back! I bought it, it's mine now.
I am a powerful magician, NOT to be trifled with."
Ting Tang
|
so he just drew a weapon of mass destruction and didn't roll an init.?
'What a lovely jingle jangle, I must get me some of those bells.' ting shrugs his shoulders and draws his sword as he steps closer to the 'powerful magician' "You's drew your's. I drew mine, an' I'm no slouch me'self, wroight. So's is we's throwin' down er is we's still talkin' 'bout tha stature?"
ok, now what
He has an int and cha of 7, of course he would make a terrible spy, but he would make a great mafia enforcer.
| GM Chyro |
He did not draw a weapon, he's not pointing it at you.

Sorry, things'll be delayed until later tonight. My folks have come over.
| GM Chyro |
Ok, back to where we left off.
Ting, i've placed you as the head of the tetris block, as you said you stepped closer.
Varij becomes wary when someone is coming for 'his' statue.
"It's mine, i bought it."
Arpani chants and moves his fingers in intricate arcane patterns.
His form loses substance and turns to a wispy cloud, but as it does, the bundle under his arm begins to vibrate, crackle, and grow.
His eyes widen as his body resolidifies and the statue bursts out of its wrappings, seemingly absorbing the arcane energy from Viraj’s failed spell.
Linen, strings, and little bells skitter across the pavingstones. On the ground now, the statue continues to grow, taking on the form of writhing, giant centipedes.
And the grow, and grow....to huge proportions!!
The crowd quickly runs away, as do the Merchants.

Huge centipedes, round 1
Three huge centipedes look at the party, knocking over stands as they grow to huge size.
And they rolled higher in init. :/
Blue crawls closer around the fountain.
Varij looks nervous. "Stay back, all of you!"
Red takes a bite at the FF Ting.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 192d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13
Its bite comes in hard.
Ting, a fort roll 14, or you take 1d6 dex dmg for 6 rounds. With its roundly saves.
Green crawls closer, and bites at him too.
Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 222d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
Ting, a fort roll 14 against this.
If you passed the previous save, the same effect.
If you failed the previous check, and this one too, the effect of the first roll increases DC & duration by +2, as this poison will worsen if so.

Brallenera, Joseph & Ting (3/36)
Carr
|
Carr seems to think that those pieces missing from Ting are not healthy for his continued fighting today. He decides that invoking his holy power and rendering aid to the small bird creature would be beneficial to the continued survival of the group and the extermination of the bugs. So he touches the bird, loathe though he be to do so. "That appears as though you'd prefer it hurt less. Here." A moderate amount of healing flows into Ting, then Carr steps up and draws his shield and weapon to face the foes.
Healing: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 3) + 4 = 12

a question on the map, I had posted that ting walked up to the man, I pictured him much closer, as in 5 ft. That's why when Varij jumped back that ting moved closer, you have him 30 ft from ting. That seems very far to have a conversation. Ting was having a conversation until the man drew a wand, if he wasn't close enough to use the sword, he wouldn't have drawn in.
fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
