GM Chyro |
The chase, round 2
Fort Joseph: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Joseph starts sneezing, and is feeling hampered.
1 move.
Ting resists the spice, and moves towards the door, where he bumps into something invisible.
-----------------
Buri Buri-ban Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
"Achaaaah!"
Buri Buri-Ban can only make 1 move, and exits the building.
There's still time to catch him.
-------------
Factory staff Sorry, the 'guards' are more akin to the senior staff.
#1 & 2 double move towards Joseph and Carr.
#3 & 4 double move towards Brallenera
#5 & 6 double move towards Ting.
-------------
Brallenera & Carr
Brallenera Thalkham |
Brallenera runs after the invisible fugitive Double Move 60 again. So total 120 feet. Hoping I don't run past him.^^
Awww, stay there, BuriTwo!
GM Chyro |
Well...
Forgotten fort Brallenera: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
She can get a general direction hunch, as he is sneezing and coughing.
--------------
Distances:
Buri Buri-Ban (invisible, last round in round 3)
40 feet out, in a street.
Brallenera (20 feet out, in the street)
Carr (30 feet in the refinery)
Joseph (30 feet in the refinery)
Ting (95 feet, since he ended bumping into Buri Buri-Ban previously)
Senior staff
1 move away from Carr, Joseph & Ting
Carr's up
======================
As Buri Buri-Ban outruns Brallenera, there will be an upcoming skills check part, where you can still get to him, if he fails.
This at 60 feet outside, 80 feet outside, and 100 feet outside.
For convenience, see spoiler and roll your checks for the entirety of it, and we'll resolve it.
3 parts.
1st part: a part of the street is blocked by stacked barrels.
Either a str check DC 14 to push through, or DC 14 acrobatics to maneuver over them.
Not passing means you're held up 5 feet of movement at your next turn's movement, as you got past it struggling.
2nd part: a merchant cart comes riding by. Reflex DC 14 to slide under it.
Not passing means you've lost 10 feet of movement running around it.
3rd part:
A heap of debris offers a slope over a wall.
DC 15 to climb it, at half speed, since there's parts which are good as hand holds. Needs 2 successful check.
Brallenera Thalkham |
Question: If Buri*2 moves at 20 feet base, double move does 40 feet , right? If he has 1 round on us, in 3 rounds he has moved 40*3=120 feet. Brallenera, moving 60 feet (double move with 30) on 2 rounds has covered 120 feet too, no?
Str check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 BranHULKera Smash puny barrels
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 when you watched Jessie Graff carefully
Climb, ACP: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Climb, ACp: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
GM Chyro |
He's a monk, with fast movement.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Climb #2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Ting Tang |
Ting (95 feet, since he ended bumping into Buri Buri-Ban previously)
did he perchance slow down Buri too?
Were still waiting on Carr right?
also ting is wearing an armored kilt, so he can only move 20 ft, The PFSRD doesn't specify how long it would take to take off an armored kilt, would it be as fast as undoing a belt buckle?
GM Chyro |
Being in front of you, it didn't slow him down.
Yes.
I asked someone who has worn a kilt. He says a kilt has more than 1 point to secure it, instead of a belt buckle's front.
Also, on the d20, there is a table that mentions how long it takes for armor categories to remove them from wearing. Light armor takes 1 minute.
Ting Tang |

Thanks, just wasn't sure ;)
GM Chyro |
Yes, though Buri Buri-ban failed at one of a monk's better saves....reflex.
Lord Joseph Wraitheart |
Here we go with the checks:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Reflex for cart: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Climb1: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 - 2 = 5
Climb2: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 - 2 = 6
"Achoo!" Joseph rubs his nose as he continues to try and get the strong smell of spices out of his sinuses and isn't being too helpful in the chase.
GM Chyro |
Botting.
Fort Carr: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Carr holds his breath, and double times towards the other exit.
He is at 90 feet towards the other side.
==================
The CHase, round 3
Fort J/J: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Joseph starts sneezing like mad, and makes 1 move action.
At 60 feet towards the other exit.
Ting
------------
Buri Buri-Ban
Senior staff
------------
Brallenera & Carr
Carr |
Sorry, three Thanksgivings. Carr is a slow individual. So he's not moving quick AT ALL.
Ting Tang |
so when Buri and ting collided did he become visible or are we still chasing him invisable?
fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Hustling as quickly as his little crow legs can, while wearing his war kilt Ting hustles along after the pathfinders; hurtling the barrels that Brallenera had scattered, sliding under the merchant cart, climbing over the pile of debris, ting takes a quick look around. "Where's did tha blood bugger get's off ta, wroight?"
dex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
GM Chyro |
No, Buri didn't become visible when you bumped into him.
Alright, as two of you have rolled for the obstacle course, let's see how it turns out. Ting mentioned going at a speed of 20 feet.
60 feet from exit:
1st obstacle, the barrels
80 feet from exit:
2nd obstacle, the cart riding by
100 feet from exit:
3rd obstacle, the debris slope.
----------------------------------
The chase, round 3
WIth Joseph sneezing, Ting gives pursuit.
Ting double moves out of the refinery, turning a quick left after Brallenera. He ends at a distance of 35 feet outside.
---------------
Buri Buri-Ban double times. He started 40 feet out.
In his first move, he jumps onto the barrels and across like a pro, after which he runs further. (Sound of a startled horse and merchant yelling)..Bur Buri-ban is held up, as he is forced to move around the cart obstructing his way. He moves along towards a slope, and starts Climbing it, but he's not there just yet, as he won't get across until his next turn.
----------------
Senior staff:
With Ting having left the refinery, #1, #2 & #3 head for Joseph, aiming to detain him and get him back out the front door.
If you have a weapon drawn, you get an aoo on the 1st guy.
Grapple 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Grapple 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Grapple 3: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Joseph barely avoids the second's attempt.
#4, #5 & #6 try to grab Carr.
Same procedure, you may take an aoo on the 1st staff to try and grapple you, if you wish.
Grapple 4: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Grapple 5: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Grapple 6: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
#6 is Lucky, and he manages to grab hold of Carr.
-------------------
Brallenera runs after the puffs of dust. A few noises of rapid taps on the barrels point her in the proper direction, and she shoves some of them aside.
No mere barrels will stop this dwarfess. Her turn ends at the art of the cart. She will not be hindered by the obstacles to come, though.
Carr
Carr |
Carr lets himself be grabbed, assuming no harmful intent is there. If they start hurting him he'll return the favor, otherwise he will allow himself to be escorted from the building.
GM Chyro |
Nope, no harm done.
Carr is escorted, firmly but otherwise unharmed, to the entrance.
The man points at the sign, then makes a gesture of making a fire, and a(FWOOSH) gesture with his hands. He shakes his head in relief Carr is outside, and part frustration.
==============================
The chase, round 4
Ting & Joseph
-------------
Buri Buri-Ban
Senior staff
-------------
Brallenera & Carr
GM Chyro |
With Ting 2x time moving...
After 25 feet, he meets the barrels, and like Brallenera, shoves a few aside in his momentum.
Ting is at 75 distance.
Joseph
-------------
Buri Buri-Ban
Senior staff
-------------
Brallenera (will pass more obstacles)
Carr (lounging outside) You can roll for perception, DC 15, to determine a plausible heading, of where a left turn at the other exit might lead to. As Buri Buri-Ban is spending at least another turn to climb, a turn or two running might work.
Final mystery obstacle: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Carr |
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Using his mighty skills of angelic perception, Carr figures they will be going that way. He meanders that direction, not in too much of a hurry. (double moving, at 15 feet per move.)
GM Chyro |
Been since Tuesday? Sorry about that.
Joseph aims to run out as well.
AoO grab: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
AoO grab: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
AoO grab: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
None of the senior staff manages to grab him, and Joseph exits, 20 feet outside the exit.
-----------------
Buri Buri-Ban is climbing again, and has his hands on the ledge.
Perception, does he notice in his haste: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Nope. :)
2d20 ⇒ (18, 11) = 29 Haha.
-----------------
Brallenera notices some yelling ahead.
She gets past the cart, and ends her turn passing the 1st climb check.
Carr double moves down an alley, from where he can hear an echo of the yelling Brallenera hears.
=================
The chase, round 6
Ting & Joseph
--------------
Buri Buri-Ban's 2nd attempt.
--------------
Brallenera & Carr
GM Chyro |
You are 5 feet away from the cart, 25 feet away from the climbing part.
When you passed 2 climb checks, you drop onto the ground behind it. Where he is currently occupied.
GM Chyro |
Starting your turn, you are 30 feet away from Buri Buri-Ban, if i'd draw a line. But you've got the climb ahead first, unless you can drive a tank through a solid wall. ^^
He's not visible to you, but no, this keeps going in rounds.
If next round he fails at whatever is happening right now, you'll catch up on him.
Ting Tang |
He dex. over the barrels, slide under the wagon and then did two cling checks is this the double climb he already did or a new climb check? If a new climb, here we go.
did he not make his climb? Ting tries to climbe the obstacle. ? and then takes a look around.
climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 well crap
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
GM Chyro |
You rolled for 2 passes, you're climbing the 1st part now.
Ting climbs the slope, just behind Brallenera.
Joseph 2x moves, but is stuck at the heavy barrels.
---------------
Buri Buri-Ban is busy talking/yelling in frustration.
2d20 ⇒ (3, 11) = 14
There is now some more ruckus yonder.
#1 "What's the big idea, jumping into our tower of cards?
That was one hell of a difficult piece of art we were building."
#2 "Yah, what will you do to compensate, huh?"
#3 "How about whatever you've got on you?"
-----------------
Brallenera
You see a group of 4 low lifes bothering Buri Buri-Ban, they look the unsavory type, but by the looks not so tough.
Buri Buri-Ban is just 15 feet away, and they are blocking his way.
Carr
When someone gets past the 2nd climb check, read spoiler. :)
This should be enough to catch him.
Carr |
Carr approaches still, looking around for where Buri might be. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
GM Chyro |
Yes, you've reached the top.
Carr's hearing picks up the sound of yelling, and it being in a distance likely equal between the two streets, his best hunch is i where he will find the runaway Buri Buri-Ban.
Brallenera has 1 action left.
Brallenera Thalkham |
Ooops sorry, havent seen... Much to do this week end. I got a few questions: first, do I have to climb down the stuff on my second action, or does my first roll mean that I climbed up and down? Second, can I use an action to jump on our target (not to kill but to slam him down and stop him)? Would it be an attack roll using CMB or an Acrobatic roll?
Death from Above, CMB (if acrobatics, substract 5) if possible: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
GM Chyro |
No need for a 3rd climb check, you made a double climb check to get past the slope.
I can count that as a grapple or a trip, if it is to get him prone for some...'questioning'.
Brallenera tries to get Buri Buri-Ban to the floor.
As she doesn't have an Improved Maneuver, Buri gets in 1 aoo.
Stunning fist?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
She ducks in time to avoid his fist, and tackles him.
"Why can't you leave me alone? What is up with you foreigners?"
Carr closes distance, and will end up in the street the next turn.
==================
Last part:
Ting gets past the slope, and now stands next to Buri Buri-Ban and Brallenera, as Joseph is coming from the distance.
Buri Buri-Ban tries to stand up, in total defense.
Dwarven axe, vs prone: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 4 = 7Motivation, nl: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Bastard sword, vs prone: 1d20 + 9 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 4 - 4 = 24Motivational, nl: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
But Ting's strike hits him firmly enough, that he is staggered, and in no condition to do anything else.
Seeing the violent and swift display of force, the three hoodlums back off.
[Team has acquired: Captive Buri Buri-Ban]
Carr |
*Huff Huff* "Statue. Don't cast spells. Giant vermin." Carr arrives, breathing rather heavily due to exertion in heavy armor.
GM Chyro |
What tha golden boy's tryin' ta say is don't cast any bloody spells
"Do i look like one of them conjurers to you? And why wou.."
tha little stature ya 'as turns inta big ol' bugs an' starts tryin' ta eat ya, wroight
(Blink in diesbelief)
"Wait..what??Sh!t, sh!t! This isn't worth getting beat up for. Take it, take it already!"
He drops the statue at your feet, and tries to move away in his staggered state.
Brallenera Thalkham |
Awww, why did you ran away? We were willing to ask you nicely, you know?
When they got the statue
Awww, that wasn't too hard. You know what, I got an idea. We must still get the last statue. But I don't trust Torch, and I don't like him. We should give the statues to our Venture Captain, just to teach him a lesson..
Lord Joseph Wraitheart |

"Sure we can't beat on this punk for making us run this far?" Joseph asks out of curiosity and a threatening tone, whilst still trying to clear his nose from the earlier sneezing fit.
Brallenera Thalkham |
Awww, I'd like to give the three statues we already have, as soon as possible, and explain the situation to the VC. Our loyalty is to the Society, not to that stone cold killer who wouldn't have a second thought about double crossing us.
GM Chyro |
Not quite. That one statue turned into the centipedes.
Ting Tang |
We actually only have one statue the other two changed and were a one-use magic item, so they are gone, right?. Also, I thought we promised "The information broker" a "favor to be named later, not the statues.
Ting, not worried that he will be casting spells anytime soon picks up Buri's statue and places it in his pack. "Oy Brallenera I's'l carry tha stature, you's let up tha Buri Buri, yeah." Turning to Joseph he continues, smiling his tengu smile. "Lordy Joey if'n you's wants ta take a whack at 'im you's can, but I's is out of it." then he asks in general but looking at Carr "So's who's got tha last one?"
GM Chyro |
Ting's right on those accounts.
You didn't promise statues to Torch, nor did he show interest in having them.
