Possibly- ** spoiler omitted **
I did not know that (I'm in a WotR PbP, so I've been avoiding reading those issues.)
Timeline advancement on that is also weird because the destruction of Kenabres is a background event in King of Chaos, but I doubt the sealing of the Worldwound will be mentioned in any later Jeggare/Radovan books.

D'OH! Didn't mean to spoil things!!! (*flogs self*)
Of course, as with all APs, that's only a possible ending- and I honestly can't say for certain whether that's the precise thing or not (it's been a while since I read it, and I didn't read that issue as thoroughly as some).
Apologies all the same. :(

No worries. Some spoilers are unavoidable. As long as they're 'movie trailer' level, I don't think it's a big deal.
But you're right about possible endings: PCs can fail, most obviously, which advance the timeline in decidedly different ways than success. They can miss 'secondary' conditions like the gate to Leng int he final installment of Runelords that can have bigger long-term ramifications than the actually villain. They can achieve victory in non-obvious ways. They can do other earthshaking things to change the setting on their way to fighting the BBEG.
Advancing the canonical timeline for APs is dangerous not only in that it can invalidate campaign setting books (by unseating House Thrune, ending the Mendevian Crusade, flooding the economy with gold from Xin Shalast, whatever) but in that it canonizes the way the PCs went through the AP.
In contrasts, advancing the timeline for background events, like the Tower of Yath from The Worldwound Gambit showing up the in Worldwound timeline, will probably stick to continuity nods. The novels rarely change the world, and when they do, at least the novel says the same thing to everyone.

While its dangerous, it isnt unprecedented. We have now at least 2 APs that assume the events of a certain area of Varisia of moved along acording to previous adventure paths to one degree or another.

Cheliax rebellion!
A masked ball is involved!
Now wouldn't that be cool if there was a big plague involved here? And then the horsemen come in all dressed all in finery.
The devil worshipers can hide themselves away, but nobody can escape Death! And I must say, Death looks mighty fine in Red!

Love the thought of a masqued ball encounter:
Not only the disguised devils and devil minions, but the opportunity for a disguised heir of Sheraya Solistar to be secretly in attendence...
...Intrigues of devil-supporters vying with rebels and attempting to convince followers of Red Mantis that Abrogail is legit and not lawful prey to the Red Mantis...
...and, of course, the Veiled Master at the heart of it all.
Would also love to see some details on other Hellknight Orders, maybe even some who are actually just actually carrying out the last orders of King Gaspodar and awaiting a proper heir to throne of Cheliax to arrive so that they can surrender what was lost at Korradath.
The ultimate dream would be for some love of evil in the AP with recommendations on how to run this for a black-hat party (even if not supporting Thrune, as apparently there is no legal requirement that the crown go to the heir of Abrogail I.)

I really want to play this. So many possibilities...
Where is my time machine so I can go forward in time and pick up the completed AP from my FLGS 18 months from now?
The current regeneration of Doctor Sutter has borrowed it to prevent intertemporal war from breaking out when the Sontaran kebab truck cannot get room to park and set up outside Gen Con 2017 because the Ice Warriors' gelato cart and Silurian taco wagon refuse to move.
Tip: If you're there, don't eat any of the "Paula Deen" fried Adipose-on-a-stick... at least, not if you're not into body horror.

Somewhere in the middle-ish towards the front on the left side I think? It's a bit blurry now. Sleep deprivation. :) I was the one in the Maliwan shirt sitting next to Guybrush Threepwood.*
Getting rested tonight hopefully and finally catching up on the dealer floor. Paizo's line was CRAZY.
