GM Kim |
OOC discussions and questions will be held here to keep the gameplay thread as in-character as possible. Thanks!
Ryu Hyeon-ae |
Hi all!
Looks like we have a pretty damage-heavy party. Guess our solution to most problems will be death and destruction.
Still working on Hyun-ae's backstory, but I'm settled on the Samurai class for now. Might change things up a little after I play a game, using the rebuild rules, but we'll see.
Berosius |
For what it's worth, Berosius is a passable diplomat, especially with Glory subdomain. But he's also built primarily as a damage dealer, relying on a longspear to get numerous AoOs.
GM, it's worth noting Berosius's "Seize the Initiative" power. He can designate one party member to roll two d20's for initiative and take the better result. Generally, this will be himself.
GM Kim |
That's fine. Just let me know when you're using it and who you're using it on before initiative is rolled. And keep track of it like any other resource (3+Wis mod, right?).
Noorzad |
Hey, gang - this is my first PbP on these boards, so if there's something it seems like I'm missing or 'not getting' in terms of protocol or setup, please do not hesitate to poke or say something.
Will do my PC updates and intro post tonight!
Gorn the Shorn |
Noorzad, don't worry too much about it.
The biggest parts of this are syntax.
Typically, the setup of speaking/ooc/actions and thoughts look something like this (GM, please correct me if incorrect).
Fonting as follows:
"Talking"
Thinking that you want others to see.
"Telepathic conversation"
Describing actions
Out of Character chat relevant to the posts
I'm just eager to get the gameday started.
Zephri Kreel |
Still interested folks, but Zephri is just finishing another scenario - last encounter - so I don't really want to post until he's done. I'll have two months off(ish) after Sunday so I should be plenty posty! I've dotted and deleted so the game shows up in my campaigns tab.
Zephri Kreel |
Zephri has completed his game nearly a week ago, but I have still yet to receive the chronicle - I have requested it, and was previously assured I would receive it soon. I can provide a link to the PBP if that would be sufficient, but I am not sure if I should go ahead and start posting without the chronicle, thoughts?
I have two other ready to go characters but both are 2nd level. One of those is a support focused oracle who would probably fit the game better than the alchemist.
GM Kim |
Oh, almost forgot. Please fill out this information form when you get a chance. I'll also need your current prestige (not fame, that's covered in the form) going into the scenario and which chronicle this will be for you. If you don't feel comfortable putting them here in public, you can pm them to me. Thanks!
PS - After you submit the above form, you'll get an e-mail back with a link that'll take you back to the form. Chances are very likely it'll go into your spam folder (90% of them do, at least). You'll be able to alter the information you give on that form using the provided link, so don't lose it. I'll be using that information at the end of the scenario for chronicle sheets and reporting.
GM Kim |
Could Ryu and Noorzad set up their quick reference stats under their Race and Class/Level section on their individual profile pages, please? Would help immensely in the future.
As for the form, I can't take any credit for it. I'm not sure if you know Keht, but he's the one who made it. I just badgered him into letting me use it, as well, until he relented.
If I don't see any posts from Berosius by Tuesday, I'm going to go back into the recruiting pool and do some more fishing. I hope he's okay and able to post, though. But I'd like to get all three scenarios done in an efficient time frame.
Thanks, guys!
Ryu Hyeon-ae |
Oh, sorry about the lack of quick reference stats. This is literally the only character I have that didn't have it up... *shakes head* Not sure how I forgot it this time.
GM Kim |
I promise to keep forgetting until the end of the trilogy, but will do my best.
Gorn the Shorn |
Re: Climb check:
Did the 13 fail by 5 or more? If it did the fall makes sense, but if it's a DC 15 wall, then I just wouldn't have progressed.
A Climb check that fails by 4 or less means that you make no progress, and one that fails by 5 or more means that you fall from whatever height you have already attained.
Just making sure I failed terribly :P
GM Kim |
You got me there. I was looking at the wrong tier. Sorry! You should be at full health.
GM Kim |
Unless he's using an archetype that I don't know about, Noorzad should have all the knowledge skills!
Noorzad |
Well, yes, "all of them", but not necessarily great at them unless I've put ranks in 'em (that'd be Local so far).
I'm happy to include an appropriate ad-libbed check (Nature?) in my next action, though. BARDTASTIC. Although if I get a result that's equivalent to "it's a thing that lives in tunnels and grabs prey with tendrils", I'm gonna have myself a good chuckle.
Gorn the Shorn |
That's where that was familiar from!
Also: Given the creature's penchant for bull rush, and being mildly resistant to those, I'm really not wanting to move much, if for no other reason than to keep us ABOVE the cliff.
GM Kim |
Noorzad, can you post your character's info in your profile, or send me a copy/link to the sheet? This is just so I can make skill checks if I have to. Thanks!
Also, I don't know if you wanted this, but you seem to have your private messages turned off. You can toggle to be able to receive them or not in your Account under Privacy Settings.
GM Kim |
The only way to get rid of the fatigue condition is to go back below the 5000' threshold and rest, which is back at the Two Brothers. Resting for an hour at the monastery will just incur another Fort save.
Just so everyone's on the same page, I simplified the exposure rules, too. I ran through the entire night, making fort saves every hour, and Berosius and Hyeon-ae succumbed to frostbite and died... Zephri was fine, though! Hyeon-ae might want to steer clear of mountains after this.
Ryu Hyeon-ae |
Sorry, I've been busy all day and haven't had much of a chance to post. Will try to do so tomorrow morning. Even though Jin and I are fatigued, well, we'll just have to power on through it.
Noorzad |
Thanks for the heads-up, Kim - private messages should be turned on now.
Sheet here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WJmJz4VgBEEfxcWT4y2gqZXaoBizYEuHNsN25Gz K0Zw/edit
Those exposure rules are _hardcore_. Very interesting.
GM Kim |
And I thought Zephri was going to blow right through this encounter. Yay!
...I mean, sorry guys, but now everyone else will get a chance to shine, yeah! Berosius is due his moment!
GM Kim |
Throwing Berosius on auto-pilot since we haven't heard from him since Tuesday.
GM Kim |
Welp, something happened on my end, I think, or I can blame Keht, but regardless, I've lost the sheets you guys fill out. I made a new form to fill out here, if you wouldn't mind so I can begin setting up your chronicle sheets. Also, just to say it again, after you submit the above form, you'll get an e-mail back with a link that'll take you back to the form. Chances are very likely it'll go into your spam folder (90% of them do, at least). You'll be able to alter the information you give on that form using the provided link, so don't lose it.
Also, I still need the chronicle sheet # and the prestige for the following characters:
Everyone except Dagat
It'll probably be scenario 1 and 0 prestige for everyone except Zephri and Noorzad, but I just want to verify. You can post it here or PM it to me. Either way works.
Also, I probably won't be able to post anything Tuesday night through Thursday morning. Thanks!
GM Kim |
And I just noticed Hyeon-ae's info on her profile page. I'll check everyone else's, too.
Berosius |
Mine's there. But now it's here, too: Berosius PFS# - 2405-2.
Not sure what you want for Prestige. Chronicle number and Prestige are for players to fill in, no? In any case, it's Berosius's second chronicle, so he already has 1 and 2, respectively.
