Oh! I've been doing the Land Rush thing, so I want to make sure to claim my next "piece" whenever the time comes for that!

![]() |

Anyone else ever play the original MYST?
This feels straight out of the Mechanical Age.

![]() |

It has been a while since I played a trap springger. Looking at the write up for Disable Device:
Try Again: Varies. You can retry checks made to disable traps if you miss the check by 4 or less. You can retry checks made to open locks.
Can I take 10 since there are no threats nor is it trapped?

![]() |

Yes

![]() |

I just want to apologize for not having been more active so far.
Also, I've taken the liberty of giving everyone a distinctive border - hope they're to your liking!

![]() |

Sorry, I just spent the last several days preparing for and embarking on a trip (my first time on an interstate train-ride! It beats the almighty s+$+ out of an 21st-Century American air-travel!).
Anyways, I would've followed everyone else, unless there was some reason for me to stay where I was.

![]() |

Uh...where is the secret door?
May I go back in it?
I cannot tell, from where I am now, whether I can reach the enemy this round; I hope I can.

![]() |

I need to know the answer to the above before I can execute my turn.

![]() |

You can turn and go back in if you want to. I've marked the secret door with a yellow line.

![]() |

Hello everyone! You can see this message in several games. This week is extremely stressful for me, and I will participate in the games very sporadically. Feel free to bot me when you need to.

![]() |

I'm sorry I have not been keeping up on posting, and can't necessarily do so now. I've been putting all my time and energy into dealing with a mess that is part of my VO responsibilities. I don't know if it's about to get better or even worse. I can't be more specific in order to protect someone else's privacy.

![]() |

Hello everyone, friends! I have sorted out my affairs, the life situation has more or less settled down and on Tuesday I will return to active participation in all the games. I hope you've been doing well here without me .)

Forgive another holdup, but I need another reality-check:
Is there a reason Red is still on the map?
How wide is their electrical-discharge radius? I was surprised when you said I was still in range of Red's.
It appears to me there are only two ways from the room Garsita and I are in to the room where Cyan is, and both would prevent my 20-foot speed and I from being able to get a shot in this round; is that correct? If so, of course, I'll just double-move and that's that (but not so far as to end up in Cyan's electro-radius, per above).

![]() |

Because I forgot to move it off probably - the electrical discharge is a 10ft radius sphere - and yes - there are only two ways out - the north door and the secret door in the south.

Combat maneuvers are a weaker spot of mine (since the system didn't exist as such in 3.5), so I want to make sure I'm calculating my CMB for those Pushing Blasts correctly:
Base BAB (+3)
+
size penalty (-1)
+
Constitution bonus (+4)
+
Elemental Overflow (+1)
+
Point-Blank Shot (+1)
=
+8
Right?
I think I actually shortchanged myself on that previous/first shot.

![]() |

I was hoping someone would/could verify the above.

![]() |

I'm familiar with CMB but not with Kineticist...
I'll try filling you in, then:
Elemental Overflow presently grants me +1 to attack rolls, and that's all that matters for purposes of this inquiry.
My Infusions let me substitute Constitution for Strength.
That in mind, then does the rest all check out? Or might I be leaving anything out?

Not going to be posting much this weekend into early next week due to a family celebration. Please bot me if I'm holding things up. I expect to return to posting late Monday or early Tuesday US time.
I've definitely heard worse reasons for skipping out; whatever you and yours have going on, Mazel Tov!
In the meantime, I am digging the 'extra-not-human' makeup of this party - could be much more extreme, though of course.
I'd love the opportunity to assemble a party that's just as far-from-human as possible: Not just 'demihumans', but nothing but, like, plantfolk and Dhampirs and obvious Outsiders and maybe an Android and/or reptilian...!

![]() |

i'm playing a dhampir sorc in another game right now with crossblooded....celestial and undead,,,,
Trippy!
Tempting as Crossblooded Sorcerers may be, personally I find the "reduced spells KNOWN" hindrance to be too much, especially since you're even later to get your next level of spells than Sorcerers already are (now, if they got both Bloodline Spells instead of just getting to pick one, that might make up for it, they'd be getting them later anyway).ANYWAY:
DM, what kind of obstacle are we looking at in that...engine-y thing between us and Klarkosh? Would I be taking a penalty if I tried to take a shot at him from the spot I've indicated?

![]() |

yeah..it's a challenge..he's only lvl 1...so he only knows infernal healing for 1st lvl spells....i'm going to counter the lack of spells with things that allow access to spells...
and i made him cuz i had a boon from waaaaay back and thought of a cool backstory...

![]() |

I think that's bench height.

![]() |

So no penalty to speak of (even for a "shorty" like me?), I take it.

![]() |

As you can probably guess, I'm hoping to Drag him to the spot right between myself and Ebonfeather.

![]() |

Assuming you keep this sort of pace up and find the way out - sure. You just nearly eliminated the level boss in one round before he had a chance to act.
I'm also thinking of doing Level 4 after this one.

![]() |

Wouldn't Level 4 be going...backwards?
I've done everything that built up to this (save level 1 because she was already TOO high-level when that group started, so I did that with an alt).
Also, recall I'm trying to do the "Land-Grab" thing, so don't forget whenever it comes time for that.
I'd LOVE to continue downward, but I wouldn't be opposed to re-doing an earlier one with an alt.

![]() |

Yeah ... I was intending to do Level 4 first but I got my levels mixed up.

![]() |

Yeah ... I was intending to do Level 4 first but I got my levels mixed up.
I am now imagining you trying to build the Emerald Spire like a JENGA tower..."OOPS! How did that get there...?!"

![]() |

On Klarkosh, you find a potion of cure moderate wounds, a wand of magic
missile (CL 3rd, 25 charges), a mwk dagger, a belt of mighty constitution +2, a cloak of resistance +1, a Spire transport token, a journal, and a key.
How mildly weird, the other game I'm in right now just coughed up a Belt of Mighty Constitution +2 as well!
In this case, I've already got one (izz very niiice).
As for the Cloak, I don't have one, everyone at this "table" has pretty good saving throws...but although my other two are through the roof, I do appear to have the one negative saving throw modifier.
I'll take it if there are no more insistent claimants.
I'll also hold onto the potion, only if nobody else wants to; Garsita either badly needs to update her quick-stats, or is Candidate #1 for the potion.

![]() |

I'd rather take the wand of MM for Alecto.
I have very few spells suitable for this place.

![]() |

@DM, you said you were interested in doing Level 4.

![]() |

Yes it is. It's 3-5.

![]() |

Yes it is. It's 3-5.
Meaning half of us could come as we are if we wished, the other half not.
"Geek Sudoku" time, then!?
Assuming we'd still have our:
Plant-Sorceress
Priestess of Protection
Bush-Warrior
I could potentially field:
- 5th-level
Druid
Kensei*
Fighter*
- 4th level
Dark Lord
True Silvered Throne!
Thief!
- 3rd-level
Inquisitor!
Spiritualist
"True Necromancer"/aspiring Mystic Theurge!
Paladin*
'*' means I'd be less inclined to pick them, '!' means I'd be most inclined for one reason or another.
