So I had a very late night over the weekend, because of a surprising bit of text that I found at the end of module #4. I knew that Mokmurian was supposed to retreat after the PCs' first attack, and I thought I read that he gathers maybe a dozen stone giants (generic stone giant stat block) and then re-assaults the PCs.

But that's wrong.

From the module:

Quote:
Mokmurian fights until reduced to 40 hit points or fewer, at which point he uses dimension doors to retreat to area B13, hoping to get healing from his lamia minions. If they’re dead, he flees up to the surface and gathers a group of a dozen stone giants and any of the named giants who still live to mount an attack on the library to finish off the PCs.

There is a named leader for each of the 7 tribes, PLUS Conna. PLUS the dozen generic stone giants. It's a HUGE fight. I noticed this a few hours before my game, and spent the entire time creating stat sheets for ALL of the named giants.

So not wanting all that effort to go to waste, here are the giant character sheets, both in PDF and POR (Hero Lab).

A couple of important notes. First, Halvara is important. If the lamias are dead, Halvara is probably the only giant left with any healing powers. Also, she's the only giant that has a way to counter invisibility (via Faerie Fire), aside from Mokmurian.

Also, I tried to avoid decreasing the giant's movement speed, so most giants are in light armor (except for Drogart, because his fighter training lets him keep his full movement even in medium armor). Of course feel free to swap or remove armor as you see fit. After all, the module doesn't actually build these giants out, so it's all unofficial and should be whatever works for you.

Also, some of these giants have the Fortified Armor Training feat -- this allows the giant to sacrifice armor in order to convert a critical hit back to normal damage. I did that because we have a crit-fisher in our group who delivers about 150 points of damage on any round that he crits, which one-shots most of these giant bosses. If you aren't concerned about that, you could replace the feat with something else.

Q & A
Why did you give a giant a certain class? Why so low level?

The module specifies the following details about each giant: name, alignment, sex, class, level. So I took that as a base, stuck to it, and made up all the other details. So I didn't choose for Halvara to be an oracle, for example. That's just what the module told me to do.

Have fun!

Does anyone have copies of Peet's restructured Fort Rannick maps?
The old links are broken, Peet looks like he hasn't been online in a year, and my players will be there in a few sessions...

Hello, I found wery detailed map of Magnimar:

May somebody share with me this map without legend?
I was dead tired from searches...

Hey all, I've made another side quest, the fight against the Sandpoint Devil, with a dungeon. I'm not that good at making dungeons so all I did was just tidy up my notes, I hope it will be of use to someone.

Does anyone have a high res version of the thistletop forest area? I'd really like the hero339 or Askren one, but I can't find a high res version that would work for a VTT.

I have the hero339's Thistletop map.

Many years ago (I have ran Rise too many times to count...), I had found a collection of maps, tokens, handouts and additional information all in a single concise location that was easy to navigate. It was a google drive that I had bookmarked for use. I recently upgraded my computer, which included reformatting and updating, and somehow lost those bookmarks on my computer. Now, I am on the search for it again. You guys have so much of the material that is in that google drive, do any of you happen to have the link to the actual google drive itself? If so, you guys are amazing!

I have just finished a new map of the Sihedron Temple from book 6. Here it is:

Sihedron Temple, with grid

Sihedron Temple, gridless

The scale is 100px to the five-foot square, which should work tolerably well for VTT, and print nicely at 100 DPI.

This area is not really detailed in the adventure beyond a couple brief paragraphs. If my players choose to venture there -- which seems likely to happen tomorrow, actually -- they will encounter the Immortal Ichor of Lissala and some yet-to-be-determined minions.

Made in Photoshop with textures from textures.com, a few assets from dundjinni.com, and vector images I made in Inkscape for use as masks.

Hi all, I made a puzzle encounter for the derelict ship in the swamp in Book 3, though you can use this encounter in any campaign. It is inspired by an escape room puzzle. The encounter should be system-agnostic.

Let me double-check my hard-drive; with luck, I can find them and upload them to Imgur.

In the meantime... having returned to these forums after a long absence, I found a PM from January(!) asking for Peet’s tweaked version of the Night’s Watch ahem, Black Arrow home fortress. In the spirit of ‘better late than never’....

Peet’s revised layout for Castle Black Fort Rannick
First/ground floor

second floor

third floor

fourth floor

fifth/top floor

After a little digging...

Hero339’s maps of Habe’s Sanitorium

Ground/first floor

top/third floor

Hero339’s map of Sandpoint Sawmill
Both floors

Turns out I also have hero339’s maps of the Hambley farm and its fields, for the ghoul-hunt portion of that module. Does anyone want/need those?

Yes, someone did. You can search for it in the facebook group GMs for Rise of the Runelords. I can also look for it on my other laptop if you can't find it.

Excellent; I requested to be added to the facebook group. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon, but if you do find it, I'd still appreciate it.

Some other Hero339’s maps I'm looking for is the ones he done for Fort Rannick and Graul Homestead. Anyone here got them to share?

Not sure how long inte campaign he got, think I only seen his material to reach Turtleback Ferry.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Fort Rannick maps I (re-)posted not a half-page up this very thread. :P Alas, if I ever saved hero339’s version of the Graul homestead map, I can’t find it again.

Yes Trace, I saw the repost, and that’s a really nice copy of the Graul homestead. Big thanks for uploading them. =)

I went through this long thread several times and tried to collect everything I could get for this campaign, but sadly quite a lot of the items are now missing.

The hero339 wonderful maps are my favorites though, and I have located several of those but have only been able to find low res copies of the chapter 3 maps.

I have the stained-glass windows in Foxglove Manor in my PowerPoint material though. I could try to upload that presentation if I just clean it up a little.

I made up some windows for the Foxglove Manor when my players went through it. Here's a link to them.

I started to use PowerPoint as a story telling device, and I think it really helps to build the mood. These presentations on a big screen TV together with the Syrinscape Soundset sets things up nicely.

It started when I found a really nice player journal on obsidianportal (https://riseoftherunelords-155.obsidianportal.com/) and collected all the art they used there.

But after this I started to copy and crop art from absolutely everywhere I could find them. They get rather lengthy so Chapter two is 183 art slides, but I think they are really fun to use during play.

Here is a link to the first two chapters:

Burnt Offerings

The Skinsaw Murders

We are playing Chapter 3 right now so this PowerPoint will be able in a while.

Best regards

Hero339's maps are so good. I'd love to get all of them; I wish they hadn't deleted their profile. I'm currently looking for Foxglove's Townhouse.

This what you're looking for?

These are ... amazing. I don't suppose anyone has a grid-less version of the chapter 5 and 6 maps by chance? Hmm, some of these are less intrusively gridded. Time to toss out the maps I've got! If someone happens to have a set that's clearly gridless, I'll just do it again!

This is awesome! So many memmories from just browsing through your ppt's. I wish you were at Chapter 5 already!

I created the letter that Tsuto left for his father that set the Sandpoint attack in motion, just in case the players murder Tsuto without questioning him.

The letter goes over why the Glassworks was empty, why a ladder was in the graveyard, and why the North Gate was not locked.

I fixed two new chapters for my PowerPoint presentations for Rise of the Runelords.

Also added a presentation going through the main gods.

Burnt Offerings

The Skinsaw Murders

The Hook Mountain Massacre

Fortress of the Stone Giants

Gods

Chapter 5 and 6 needs a lot of cleanup before publishing.

I think these are really awesome Gnutten! I'm thinking about doing something similar for the intro to my upcoming Return of the Runelords campaign to help bridge the two campaigns. I've only looked through the first two, but they're honestly inspiring.

Gnutten those PPTs are amazing. I'm planning to start running RotR as my first effort on the GM side of the screen. I'll be using some of your images for sure! Thanks for sharing them!

One question - have you considered adding a note to some of the slides? For those of us not as familiar with the adventure path, it might help to have a hint as to what we're looking at.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the nice comments! =)

Yeah, I had an idea to add comments and notes to the slides.
Something like:

------------------
P13. THE SWALLOWTAIL FESTIVAL
Father Zantus steps up to give a short speech thanking everyone for coming before declaring the Swallowtail Festival underway.

------------------
It would ease up the use of the presentation and be helpful to keep track of names and the flow of the game.
Especially since some slides isn’t directly out of the book. But first I would like to sort out the last 2 chapters.

I have collected a bunch of pictures for chapter 5 and 6 but haven’t sorted them out just yet, but they’re on the to do list. My players are dealing with the Graul family at the moment.

The slides are rather fun to make, but it sort of bugs me that some of the lovely art from Rise of the Runelords Card game is hard to find. Some of those “official” pictures would be nice to add. The app has some character art I’ve only seen there and some background such as the sawmill and watchtower.

Evening all. I'm working on building a complete collection of the Hero339 maps in high (enough) res. So far I've managed to track down the following:

CHAPTER 1
Fire and Festival - Sandpoint Cathedral / Initial Assault
Local Heroes - Rusty Dragon Inn Ground Floor
Glass and Wrath - Glassworks | Glassworks Basement | Catacombs of Wrath
Thistletop - Thistletop | Thistletop Ground Floor | Thistletop Lvl 1 | Thistletop Lvl 2 | Thistletop Lvl 2 Trap Detail

CHAPTER 2
Murder Most Foul - Sandpoint Lumber Mill
The Thing in the Attic - Habe's Sanatorium all maps
Walking Scarecrows - Hambley Farm Day + Night all maps
Chasing the Skinsaw - Foxglove Townhouse all maps
Misgivings - Foxglove Manor Exterior + 1st Floor Day | 2nd Floor Night | Attic Rain | Basement | Caverns
The Seven's Sawmill - all maps

Chapter 3
Turtleback Ferry - town map + flood map
Graul Homestead - all maps
Fort Rannick - all maps

I also have a semi decent resolution version of The Shadow Clock but I wouldn't say no to a better one if I can get my hands on it. If any of you are able to provide me with one and/or any complete set of the Foxglove Manor maps I'd be much obliged.

Once I'm done with sorting and uploading them to imgur, I'll drop the links here. :)

Chapter 5 PowerPoint done:

Sins of the Saviors

I added description texts to the slides this time…

Very nice work Gnutten! Will be showing it to my players for the memories.

I was wondering if anyone had a map they used for the wreck of the Paradise? I know my players will immediately try to go swim down and investigate the wreck.

It might be too late as your request is from last month, but after some heavy digging on the net, I located that specific map, created by Hero339, hidden within a bunch of his other maps.

Do you still need that specific map or has that 'boat' (!) sailed?

The Only Sheet

P.S. I don't get any notifications from Paizo when replies are posted so it might take some time for me to see any reply if you do so here. Try the TOS Discord server for very fast replies!

First - thank you all for all the great stuff. Enjoyed most of it.

@gnutten there´s a red spot (mousebutton?) in the middle of the pics, that wasn´t there in the begining. maybe for the last a possible change?

@TOS Would be nice to simply post material you have. For sure there are still more than one GM in need...

and no discord on my side.

Thanks for the good work! :)

I've yet to look through the Ch. 6 information, but the "Gods" information is a pretty good introduction the local deities for Golarion-newbies.

One nit-pick about the Calistria slide though ... Calistria is officially listed as being CN in the RAW (Rules As Written), but her slide's alignment chart has her slotted into the CG section.

I hope to get a chance to look at the other "books" later. Right now both my groups have finally reached the Pinnacle of Avarice, which means that my focus is there for now. :D

@Bellona

Oh! Nice caught, utterly a miss from my side. Allways seen Calistria as good aligned with the Elves and all... CN makes her actually moore fun.

The sinner have repented and updated the slide! =)
