I dont think so. Paizo has bricks in stock, I believe. Everything this month has just been delayed by the pugwampis in the machine.

Why have the bricks not shipped if ordered directly from Paizo? The stores have them already. Are these going to ship anytime soon or should I cancel and buy them at the hobby stores.
In the past I would always get mine a few days before the stores had them which is why I ordered directly from Paizo. If the stores were going to get them first I would buy them at the stores.
It is never a guarantee that you will get a product before the stores. But what is good is that you WILL get something you ordered. I know it is a small compensation right now knowing full well you do not have the brick in hand and the stores do. But at least you know you will get it though. Sometimes before the rest of us.. sometimes after.

We had some issues shipping new releases this month which means we are just now getting Legends of Golation shipped out to paizo.com customers.
Sorry to hear about the problems. But thank you for the heads up. I was thinking something was wrong. But now I know to just wait a little longer. :-)

So I got a booster yesterday and had a 50% success rate on the paint job. On the plus side, my Serpentfolk Mystic and pile of monkeys were fine. My Moon-Beast .. well, it looked not as good. The pink for its tentacles looked like it was rubbed on with a finger and some detail was lost. My wife commented that it looked like it was wearing a monkey suit. The Janni was ok, but the facial detail was incredibly lacking and its gloves/hands looked funny. Overall they are fine and can be used, but man the moon-beast looks horrible.

This is all well and good, but it's not acceptable. Having a subscription to the minis line should not mean I get my shipment a month after release. More and more I am wondering why I am just not pre-ordering from one of the online stores instead of supporting you all directly.
At least an email explaining the issues would've been nice. Instead of having to ask around on another board as to the reason for the delay.

While we try to ship our subscription shipments to have the miniatures arrive as close to the street date as possible we can't guarantee that we can do this for every release. We keep the Customer Service messageboards as up to date about subscriptions as we can, with the Monthly Subscription Shipment thread updated as close to real time as we can with new information regarding that months subscriptions.
On your My Subscriptions page you also have the 'Hold for Monthly Shipment' option selected. This will cause your miniatures to be delayed until the rest of your monthly subscription products are available to minimize shipping costs. If you would like your miniatures to ship as soon as possible you will want to select the 'Never hold anything' option.

Really? Cause I am seeing it as the top seller on the front page of the Paizo site. Clicking on that link says the PDF is available on the 30th, but the hardcopy looks to be out to me.
And there are the posts of people talking about stuff in the AP itself. I assume they got it from somewhere?

People are talking about it because they either have received their subscription copy or they have got their shipping email and downloaded their PDFs.
Everything is on track. I received my shipment two days ago (I live about an hour from Paizo's offices) and downloaded my PDFs yesterday.

Subscription != street date. Subscriptions are still being sent out. I don't know if I'm reading more hostility into your posts than you're intending, or if you're actually being hostile.

I placed an order for a module and received it on Monday; it arrived 6 days after I ordered it. So, to say there is a problem with all shipping is incorrect.
I'm really disappointed that mini's ordered from Paizo.com are going out late. I order them from Paizo.com to get them earlier then the stores so I can hit the singles market early to fill in the mini's I'm missing before the more popular rare figures go out of stock. It’s ridiculous that they still have not shipped.
I guess I learned my lesson this time around ordering mini’s directly from Paizo.com is a mistake that I won’t repeat.

Can we get word from Paizo about all the reports of poor quality of these minis?
If we get poor quality minis, do we have the ability to exchange them through you?
Was the set rushed?
Paizo does not make these. Why would they owe you exchanges? If you are dissatisfied Wizkids is the manufacturer of this product and would be the people who you would seek recompense from if you feel cheated.

I bought them through Paizo, much like any other retailer, exchanges are common, or should be common practice.
Best Buy doesn't make laptops, but if they sell me a lemon, they will exchange it.

The difference is that Best Buy can return the defective items to the distributor and get their money back, who then send the product back to the original company so they can get their money back. Wizkids doesn't offer this to the distributors, so they don't offer it to the retailers, so they don't offer it to the customers. The preferred method of replacements is instead dealing directly with wizkids

danielc |

The other difference is a lap top sold at Best Buy is not marketed as a "Best Buy Laptop". It's marketed as a Dell or IBM or Apple etc.
While I understand and agree WizKids should address the quality issues that seem to have cropped into this product line, I also know if I were Paizo I would want lots of proof to use in my conversations with WizKids. It is Paizo's name on the product. Pathfinder is Paizo's IP and their brand. I would be shocked if Paizo weren't already discussing the issue with WizKids.
WizKids should make good on the worst defects. But I am not holding my breath for replacements for most "bad paint jobs".

My case arrived, and I'm very happy with it.
I got the whole shebang, although I was nervous until the final box revealed an efreeti.
Yes, there are some painting goofs. Probably an hour or so of touch-ups will make them irrelevant. I know some folks find this much more irritating than I do, but I expect some flaws in mass-production painting.
I'm glad Wizkids has moved toward less packaging but, if further improvements are possible, I'd love to send even less to recylcling. I'm at a loss to suggest what those improvements would be, so maybe this is just as good as it gets.
The two changes I'd most like to see in the line going forward are:
1. A decision at the concept level to avoid long, narrow pieces like rapiers and spears. Flatter, wider blades will be easier to unwarp.
2. A similar concept decision to go for higher-contrast paint jobs. The hellknight/Thrune/signifer figures look cool, and I'm not against the dried-blood red of their outfits, but my favorite minis are almost always those with brighter, higher-contrast paint schemes. The smaller the mini, the more I want to see its detail emphasized by the paint.

Just opened my case, and I'm pretty happy. I've got Shattered Star and RotRL minis to compare with, and in general these are of similar quality. There were a few messy paint jobs (King Irovetti actually looks terrible), but the same was true with my last case. A little touch up will take care of most of them. If I didn't have paints and brushes, they would probably bother me more.
Most of the minis are excellent. The Fire Demon actually looks even better than the pictures. So does the Greater Death Demon. The orcs all look great, especially when I put them in a group.
There are a few minis I was kind of disappointed in:
The Akatas are a great sculpt, but they appear to only have one paint step on the body. It's just a solid blue. This doesn't seem to be a result of sloppiness; all four of mine are the same. I can improve them, but as it is they look kind of silly.
The Snow Leopard is kind of a failure overall. The sculpt is poorly proportioned (head size to body size is kittenish) and the paint is kind of a dull grey. The tail is kind of small, which is unfortunate for an animal with a tail as impressive as a snow leopard's. If I really need snow leopards in a campaign, I'll probably end up using the Droogami mini from Reaper, which is excellent.
The Scourge Hellknight is a perfectly good sculpt, but I agree with the excellent author above me that they are very low contrast. They look kind of flat and dusty, and they just don't impress me at all.
I was also missing one miniature from a booster pack, and a kobold broke off it's base when it was pulled out. There were no other breakages.
My only other disappointment is that I only got two moon beasts. I need something like 6....

Does anyone know if Wizkids actually addresses the "miniature completely missing from booster" problem? I've seen a few people point to their website, but all that they seem to deal with is broken miniatures that you have to send proof of. They make that process as seemingly difficult as possible, so I feel like there would be a big lack of empathy for a completely missing miniature.

I will certainly give it a shot, and if they're willing to replace it I'll update here. I got a full set, though, so I'm not incredibly motivated to get one more.

I actually wonder about this as well. I had a missing miniature in one of my Shattered Star cases, although I never contacted WizKids about it, as it was the only discrepancy of the case.
I can’t say how hard or difficult WizKids tries to make the process as I haven’t sent anything in to be replaced. But I will say I wish they were more easily contacted than just through the replacement program or email. They are big enough where they should have a customer service number of some sort.
And still waiting on my subscription cases (for Legends of Golarian). :(

Is there anything I need to know about touching-up miniatures? Just paint right over it? Spray on a finish?

![]() |

This is the first case where I had no breakage and as I said in the Skull & Shackles thread - I have figured out that how you take them out of the packaging has a lot to do with the issue of minis being pulled off the base.
I was missing one mini from a booster pack but who knows what mini it was supposed to be.
I have already ordered everything I wanted to fill in from ebay and should have them all by next week.
I am happy with the set and not as worried about the paint jobs as some folks here. I buy these because I do not want to paint and I find them so superior to the old DDM figures that I have totally replaced some types of figures with those that come in Pathfinder Battles.
That is all...

I just paint right over it and call it done. You might want to wash the mini first to make sure there aren't any oils on the part you're painting, but that's the most work I'm willing to do for a pre-painted mini.

In_digo |

The replacement program is excruciating. They charge for shipping, which is annoying, but understandable. On top of that, I've discovered they don't allow more than 5 replacements in a package (so for any breakages beyond 5, your doubling, tripling, etc the shipping cost), and they don't allow you to return anything in the same package unless it is of the exact same set (so, in my most recent case, I had 7 miniatures, 3 from sets other than skull & shackles. Needless to say, for $5 a pop a package, three were thrown in a scrap bin).
The arbitrary restraints are the real kickers. They really feel like an attempt to dissuade customers from sending in miniatures that need to be replaced.

Hobbun |

Yes, that does sound like a complete pain to deal with. I think the most broken/missing minis I've had on all my sets is 5, and it doesn't sound like I will be attempting to replace them. I can see why yourself, or others, would be miffed.
I think they obviously don't want miniatures to have to be replaced, but I agree they shouldn't set the program up to make it difficult (therefore disouraging) for customers to do so.
How much did they charge for shipping costs? I know it can of course vary depending on where you are at, but at least it would give an idea.

Peachbottom |

I purchased a case and didn't have any major problems. I thought the paint jobs looked good. A few commons had some derpy eyes but no issues with the uncommons or rares. I didn't notice any spots where paint was missing. As for breakage, I had one pack where the toad demon came loose and pulverized the goblin in the pack into 5 pieces. (That toad demon is built like a rock). And my marid came off its base. (The marid seems out of proportion with the other three genies, being much larger than them, as well). Otherwise, nothing broke. The marid was easy enough to glue back down, and the goblin I got four more of them, so I didn't care.
Also, I got the full set in my case again, so that's always a plus.
Keep it up.

Hopefully we'll see a blog addressing this issue, maybe even with a guest author from WizKids. The amount of complaints we're seeing here is inexcusable. It seems like WizKids is going out of their way to show quality product to Paizo for the approvals and then letting quality suffer for consumers. Somebody is going to have to answer for that or people are going to stop buying these which would be a damn shame. My favorite minis are from PFB but I can't justify buying cases any more after the decline in quality.

Trezomnar |

For as much as I love the figs, even I have to admit that there are a few where the paints are lackluster. Not to mention, the orc archers all have the strings on the wrong side of the arm (which is fixable...but annoying none-the-less), I had a few figs come broken (again, fixable...but still), and I had a fig that came only as a base. It had no figure attached to the base at all. It was a kobold chieftain, so not that big of a deal...but that sort of thing shouldn't happen.
On the bright side, I did pull a full set and we were able to put the pieces to use Saturday night during a fight.

![]() |

I am not seeing the issues others have. Other then maybe having one figure off of the base which is not a big deal that a little glue can't fix.
I love the sculpts I am seeing in this set. As far as the paint jobs.. as I mentioned earlier in this thread. It is what it is and I do like what I am seeing for paint jobs. I do not expect Demon Sword quality nor am I seeing the crappy paint jobs others are seeing.
I do think some people are being overly picky but can not blame them either too. I use the DDM line in comparison and think that this set and all the other Pathfinder Battles line STILL blow DDM miniatures out of the water. This set has some amazing sculpts and replace many many of my DDM minis too.
Thanks!! :)
