Anyway, when I promised more cheesecake than ever with this cover, I was obviously talking about the cheesecake INSIDE the cover character.
James—please let me say directly that you are an incredible editor in chief, and an rpg genius. Thank you for all you do to keep up this level of production quality, including substantive stories, memorable npc, and a rich setting.
And the fact that you're popping in on a Saturday to respond to M., is icing on the PAIZO cake.
... just wanted to say thank you again, and best wishes for you and the PAIZO team at Gen Con. You deserve all the accolades you receive—these past two years have been wonderful!

Just another reason to hate Cheliax! Although, looking at the first volume, it's creating a strong desire for me to be a player rather than GM this time around. I actually backed off reading it.

Heh-heh, thanks for that clarification, JJ.
And Pax, you mean, kind of like a fiendish Wylie E. Coyote?

A great adventure concept.
Pett, Logue, Drader, Eitelbach, Reynolds, Schneider, and the cover is my absolute favorite.
This whole adventure brings back fun memories of Swords of Dragonslake (I wrote this for Dungeon ages ago - it was one of my first pieces actually, I think).
This is sooooo much cooler than Dragonslake - but not because Prett wrote it (Prett was coined in Dragonslake by the by, a little Paizo trivia for all you old school Dungeon readers), but because Jim Jake came up with a cool concept, let Prett drool on it, then made it awesome, no doubt.
By the way, Prett: You smell of retarded ape turds.
EDIT: Also, wait until you see how the art for my small article BLOWS the art for your "adventure" away! BWWWWAAAAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA!

How many "lead" roles are there in the play, incidentally? That seems likely to put an effective cap on the number of players for the adventure...

I know this is getting ready to ship soon, but is it possible we will see some art/content previews in the blog before it does? It always makes me sad to see products get no coverage at all on there.
The combination of RPG, Bestiary, Gen Con, moving the offices, vacations, and the loss of our two latest interns are all excellent reasons why we've not been doing as many blog posts or previews lately. That said, we're hopefully gonna be able to start doing some more soon. As in, check out today's blog!

There are four "lead" roles (since we assume four players in a game), but the adventure has plenty of advice on what to do if you have less or more players, including a few optional characters that folks could play.

Cool. It lloks like I'm going to be running this with 7 players (yikes!), so I was trying to figure out how to handle things. One idea I was playing around with involved making some of the PCs part of the tech crew... wizards on lights and FX, clerics as stage managers, that sort of thing.

That's actually a really good idea. There's already an illusionist NPC in that role, but he could probably use some help backstage!

What are the chances that in future books of this path we might explore the royal Houses of Cheliax? In particular the decadent secrets within House Thrune are of great interest to me, though I'm sure the other House's are of equal merit (however blasphemous that may be).
There's going to be some of this during the course of Council of Thieves, but we don't have plans to do an entire book devoted to this subject.

Any news when this one will ship?
Preliminary emails generally go out 5-7 days before shipping starts. With the holiday in there, I'd guess this afternoon through tomorrow evening as when they will start. Obviously, though, someone from Paizo can answer better than I can, since I am as much in the know as you are.

I notice that you are publishing a companion on Asmodeus and the Archdevils. Will there be mention Cheliax's ruling House in there perhaps?
"Princes of Darkness" is much more about devils and hell itself. There's certainly talk about devil worshipers and devil contracts and the like, but I don't believe there's a lot about the House of Thrune in the book at all.

Any news when this one will ship?
We are expecting the shipment to arrive sometime this week from our printer. We never know exactly which day, just the week that it is supposed to arrive. We do our authorization run at the end of the week before the week where the product is supposed to arrive. That is about the best that I can do. :)

When is this AP going out?
We've already exhausted #25 for all it's worth, which in my opinion wasn't enough.
If there is going to be one a month there should be enough adventure in there for once a week game sessions before the next one arrives.
When we were playing legacy of fire they came faster than we could play them all out. We've been dragging Bastards on for ever and there isnt anything left to do.
Could we maybe take out some non-adventure information in these APs in the future to include a little more adventure?
The bit on tieflings and their variants came in handy, but there was such a lack of adventure in #25, the DM used the tiefling information to redo ALL the generic NPC rogues and thugs into completely different teiflings from each other.
Soooo, although that stuff is appreciated, we're actually paying for adventure, so dont let the fluff take up space and not leave enough adventure!

I'm paying for the fluff. Any adventure is too much for me to run at the current time, so the more non-adventure the better! And Lisa answered up-thread about the ETA of this volume. Patience is a virtue.

And some DMs and their players *love* fluff and gorgeous hand-outs! :)

Yeah have to agree I would rather see the AP error on the side of to much fluff than not enough. Plus I decided long ago to wait and not run a AP until I had the whole series first. Much easier to drop hints and other stuff when you know whats coming in the future AP's as a GM.

Being an aspiring playwright I think I'll have to pick this up just to see how the play looks. I think there should be a contest or at least a lot of Youtube posts for any group that does the actual play. Would be neat to see a Gen Con performance of it also.
That would be awesome.

Logue and Pett with stuff in the same Pathfinder? Isn't that one of the signs of the impending Apocalypse?

Pett and I are actually CO-WRITING Ebon Shroud as you read this. Disgusting.

Which reminds me... if you are writing this AP book Nick does it mean we will have to wait a year on it too? :D

Fixed that for ya there, Sir Logue.
Ebon Shroud looks good though - it's nice to see a high-level adventure out that's longer than five encounters. ^_^
